Hello Murty,

On which aspect do you want compare these "products"?

AVD=Azure Virtual Desktop= System to hosts (Windows) VM on Azure.

M365=Specific license that contains License for Windows and License for Office 365.

With M365, you need to come with you own computers, and you can also use that license to connect and use (AVD) VM.

(as indicated here : Azure Virtual Desktop Pricing | Microsoft Azure).

Extract from AVD page:

  • License entitlement: There is no additional cost if you have an eligible Windows, Microsoft 365, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Client Access License (CAL).

  • M365 comes with a single Windows 10 OS and O365 License. For persistent VDI and fixed billing purposes, this M365 Azure VM is the best suited.
  • Whereas with native AVD, we can choose any VM model and license model which will vary the cost.

For infrastructure wise, both are the same. Like Active Directory, MFA, and Network perspective, both are the same.
Isn't it?
