I have experience working with nearly every archiving product. From my perspective, a decade ago it made sense to invest in third-party archiving solutions, but in the current environment, there is no need to waste resources on them. Instead, one can utilize Exchange itself to store all user data. The key is to properly plan the Exchange server sizing, or even better, move to M365, which offers nearly unlimited online archive storage. By enabling an archive mailbox, up to 100 GB of extra storage becomes available. Additionally, Microsoft Purview's auto-expanding archiving feature provides up to 1.5 TB of additional storage in archive mailboxes.
