Link Main Form To Sub-Form 1 and Sub-Form 1 To Sub-Form 2

2023-03-17 - Multiple Sub-Form Linking.docx

Scenario:

The form below actually has a Main Form and two Sub-Forms.

All three forms operate in Read Mode only.  i.e. No additions, changes or deletions.

The filtered data when selected is used in Button Events to create new data in tables.

The Top Form is bound to Table [00_PERIOD_MSTR].  The Top Form has a field [PERIOD_KEY].

The Middle Form is bound to Table [00_EVENT_MSTR] and linked to the [PERIOD_KEY] field in the Top Form.   The Middle Form has a field [PERIOD_EVENT_KEY].

The Bottom Form is bound to table [40_EVENT_GROUP_MSTR].  The Bottom Form has a field [PERIOD_EVENT_KEY].

Currently the data selected in the Top Form is used to to filter the data in the Middle Form.

I have tried to link the Middle Form to the Bottom Form via [PERIOD_EVENT_KEY] but it only ‘sees’ the fields in the Top Form where field [PERIOD_EVENT_KEY] doesn’t exist.

Question:

How do I get the data selected in the Middle Form to be used to filter the data in the Bottom Form using the field [PERIOD_EVENT_KEY]?
