C# drawing a form with labels, text boxes and lines and buttons.

I am looking to confirm how to draw lines on a WinForm.

Let's say I have a form called frmMyForm. It is 800 x 200.

I instantiate a panel called

private System.Windows.Forms.Panel panel1;

I want this panel to be as wide as the form so I set size to be 800 x 200 with borders.

I have two questions:

1) I have six text boxes with labels. Do I need to drop these controls on top of the panel or is there a way to make the panel transparent so you can see the labels and enter data into the text boxes?

2) I need lines drawn across the panel and y=100 and y=700 that stretch across the entire panel.. How do I do that?
