Weird issue with our website

Our firm's website is hosted externally by a hosting company. Since our website domain is the same as our internal domain, I put a record in our local DNS for www.

Just now, the web site was being redirected when trying to get to it internally to some other domain where is redirected a couple of time, finally landing on justcoolcaptcha.top. This was occurring on all machines internal to the network. I spent some time looking on our internal DNS servers and didnt see anything (they run local Trend AV software) and then looking on Cloudflare which hosts our public DNS but nothing. After looking around for several minutes, I tried our website again and it was fine. I am confused at what went on here and if I need to dig into my local systems or was this an issue with the hosting provider or what? It seems local since the web site was fine externally but we were being redirected internally.

You could try clearing the DNS cache on your local machines to ensure that they are using the correct DNS records.

You could also check your local DNS server logs to see if there were any errors or unusual activity around the time of the issue.

If the issue persists or if you notice any other unusual activity, you may want to contact your hosting provider and ask if they are aware of any issues. They may also be able to check their logs and investigate further.

Lookup externally, the host vendor may have shifted the site to another IP

Try nslookup www.yoursite.co8.8.8.8

And confirm your internal reference points to the same IP.

The difficulty in a situation such as yours is the reference
The site might have mysite.com but your internal reference is only for www.mysite.com....

Check with the host that both mysite.com and www.mysite.com are valid.
