how to setup groups or shared mailbox in microsoft 365

Seem to always have trouble determining how to setup a group or shared mailbox for email in microsoft 365. There are 3 email address that already exist and I want to create another email called mailto:123@abc.com that each of the 3 existing email addresses receive in their inbox when someone sends to it.  How would I set this up?

If you create an M365 Group, then add members to it, the M365 Group will show up in their Outlook client, and any email sent to the M365 Group email address will appear in the group folder in Outlook of each member:

I would like it to go to the inbox.  Is that a shared mailbox?
I setup this shared mailbox per instructions and gave permissions to 3 members. When I send to this new email address, the 3 email addresses do not receive it in their inbox.  I have tried 3 times and waited about half and hour. What am I doing wrong?
A shared mailbox will not deliver email to each users individual inbox. A shared mailbox creates a new mailbox that appears in each shared users Outlook client and that new shared mailbox has an inbox that all of them can 'see' the email sent to that shared mailbox. They can each manage the shared mailbox in that manner.
