Email received texts on an iPhone

I have an iPhone 11 and I want to be able to email texts I receive to myself so I can keep them in Outlook. I have Googled it and it says it is possible yet it does not work. All I have been able to do is forward a text to another text. Can this be done?

I am going to amend it a little. I got it to work but it was awkward. I am a contact on my own phone and I can select myself but at that point it will text it back to myself. When I select myself I will not let me select email. It automatically selects sending it via text.

I would not be opposed to buying a full blown transfer app as long as it works wirelessly so I don't have to continually unplug and plug in my phone.

do you mean you want the iPhone automatically forward the received text messages from iMessage and SMS to an email address so you can keep all messages using the Microsoft Outlook app?

No. On rare occasion I get a text that I need to keep. I basically want to email that text to my email address so I can save it in Outlook.
