Check if outgoing port 443 is open

How do I check if outgoing port 443 is open on a network using a Sonicwall TZ400 Firewall? I should mention that I've used the portquiz online utility on a server and two different workstations and it confirms that the port is open. How do I check this on the Sonicawall? Thanks!

Generally, outbound ports are not restricted.  You can check the Firewall -> Access Rules to see if any rules have been established that restrict or prevent outbound traffic.

Hi!

You can use the following PowerShell script to check if outgoing port 443 is open on a network using a SonicWall TZ400 Firewall.

You can paste the code into notepad first. You will need to replace "SonicWall_IP_Address" with the actual IP address of your SonicWall TZ400 Firewall.  Afterwards, save the script with a .ps1 extension and open it as an administrator using PowerShell.

$IPAddress = "SonicWall_IP_Address"
$Port = 443

$Result = Test-NetConnection -ComputerName $IPAddress -Port $Port

if ($Result.TcpTestSucceeded) {
    Write-Host "Outgoing port 443 is open on the SonicWall."
} else {
    Write-Host "Outgoing port 443 is closed on the SonicWall."
}
