Cant open back end linked tables directly from Access Front End

Experts,

All of a sudden, if I click on any linked table in my Access database front end (2003 file format), the application stalls and I have to shut down the application. At first I thought this was a network issue so I copied both the front and back ends to a local folder and relinked them, and I'm getting the same behavior.

The database runs fine btw, so the forms and such can see the back end, and i can query tables in the back end...I just cant open the tables by clicking on them.

Anyone know what this is about?

thanks

Dale,  our machines have O365 (some have 32bit, others 64bit), but I've kept the application as .mdb because there are four satellite databases that link to (and from) it and I haven't had a technical reason to tackle upgrading them all to .accdb

 That's very odd.

Do you have code in the DB that updates the table links when it starts?   That's the only thing I can think of.

The default connect property on the table is incorrect, but is corrected when the app runs.  That would give the situation you describe.
