A Brother printer recently cannot print card stock in Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments

Hi,


This is Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments.

This is related to the Printer Brother L3270.

An employee (Roger) has 2 exactly the above printers; one is used in the office and the other is used at his home.

He Has been printing Card Stock (a slightly ticker paper) with the above printers (printer at home and printer at office) with no issue. Everything goes smoothly, except starting last week. He cannot print the card stock in the office (but he can print the card stock smoothly).

The printer at the office is connected to his laptop through a USB cable, but the printer at home is connected to his same laptop through Wi-Fi.

I heard that another employee (Barbara) has the same issue (with the same model printer when printing the card stock) when Barbara prints in the office. Note: Barbara has her own Brother printer.

Any suggestion to troubleshoot it please.

Since it's only Office affected, you're at the mercy of Microsoft and how fast they'll fix this problem. The workaround is probably printing to PDF and then from Adobe or Chrome printing to the Brother.

Can the work printer be connected to the network?
Does he have two printers as an option one labled USB office that relies on the USB connection and ththe other brother home?

Or the stock card is printed when each user arrives at home?

The user (Roger) has 2 the same Brother printers. Roger has been printing the card stock either he is in the office or home successfully (no issue at all) for more than 6 months. The issue came around 1-2 weeks ago where he cannot print the card stock in the office (note: Up to now, He can print the card stock at home; no issue at all).

I am not sure whether the connection using usb cable (at office) and wi-fi are the issue?

Hit start menu and then locate the brother folder

There should be several things there, oh, your office related printer is USB connected.

Check the driver version on the system. Download the setup from brother and rerun the setup for the USB printer.

If the option is available to connect the office printer to the network and then reconfigure the officer printer on the computer to usethe same driver. This may cure the issue even if the driver is updated.
