Hello, I would like to understand what it costs to produce a video tutorial that is 2 hours in length and has 8 videos (each about 15 minutes in length).
I have been doing some research online regarding the cost associated with this type of work and have found prices (per hour) for video editing and video production ranges vastly from $25 per hour, to over $250 per hour.
I also recognize that cost for doing any job varies greatly, dependent on the experience level of the person doing the job, and on the degree of complexity (i.e. how many special effects are required, the number of video / audio tracks, etc).
However, there has to be a set of guidelines for how much a video project could costs to produce, or some sort of industry standard for costs associated with this type of work.
My question is - Is there a standard chart of costs associated with Video Editing and Video Production, that I can use as a guide to help me determine a budget for a specific project and determine if a quote is realistic or is too high or low for any given task?
Any articles, video tutorials, or studies would be very helpful - if available.
Your assistance is GREATLY appreciated.
I thank you for your help with my question.

Hello Scott, EXCELLENT advice. Based on the research I've done thus far, you're absolutely correct. The overall cost is greatly affected by everything you pointed out to include the storyboarding of the tutorial's flow, any spacial effects that have to be included + any sound (music licensing), which might be required.
I'm seeing this more clearly now based on my research and your input, which clearly outlines what I should be expecting in detail. - This was a very good exercise in understanding what I'm getting into, and what extra costs I should expect, if I do decide to go down this road. A low hourly rate might be a trap, where there may be many "extras" that I didn't expect. At least now, based on what I know thus far, I can anticipate many of these things and might be able to do some of them myself, such as perhaps the storyboarding, etc.
I thank you for the insight and the advice, which was great.
I'm going to leave the question open for a day to two longer to allow others a chance to contribute, if they have any additional advice.
Thank you again!
