Note 9's mobile data was disabled & greyed out (ie cant enable back)

https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/124970/usb-internet-option-for-tethering-greyed-out-how-to-fix-it

My Galaxy Note 9's   Mobile Data  somehow got

disabled by itself (I don't recall doing any change

to it) & it's now greyed out.  Thus I tried the above

steps to disable  'Data Saver' & enable "Developers

Option"  (though the above was for Tethering issue

which I'm also facing now) plus power cycled the

phone a few times but no joy.

My data plan is 100GB but last saw it's 6GB used

only.

How do I go about fixing this?  I can try to insert

another SIM into this Note9 to test but posting

here for ideas 1st

Swapped the SIM from another phone which its

Mobile Data & Tethering was working to this

Note9 : still the same issue.  That SIM is from

another Telco.  Counter got reset to 0 with this

other phone's SIM.

Decided to disable the 'Flight mode' and the

'Mobile network' text darkened back (was very

light grey during the issue) & this resolves it:

Yes, Flight Mode does tend to have that effect.

seems like we were all overthinking this ;)

when you already tried every single complex trick in the book and out of band half a dozen times each and it still stubbornly won't work, go for the obvious...
