Does Microsoft Offer Older Versions of Outlook for Download?

Hi,

Owing to a new "feature" ;) of Office 365 / Outlook 365, there appears to be no way to have multiple email accounts without generating multiple inboxes.

The lead engineer in my office suggested that I simply use an earlier version of Outlook.

Does anyone know of links Microsoft may offer to folks who're looking for previous versions of apps within Office?

That is, things obscure or little known pages where Microsoft themselves offer anything like:

"Hey there, now!  Is our CURRENT version of Outlook not working for you?  Want to use an EARLIER version?  We've got you covered!"

Or, if any such thing exists.

Sincerely,

OT

Good point; I've never tried to have just ONE inbox (wouldn't suit my workstyle).  I would suggest to "favorite" inboxes so you can see when new messages are there and review.

Hi All,

Ah!  @CompProbSolv & @Lee W,

Yep, yep!  For YEARS for me Outlook has been able to do this: all emails go to one inbox.

@DEMAN-BARCELO - these are all POP3 mails.

The engineer in my office suggested I just install an old version of OUtlook.  That made sense to me.  This is how far I've gotten on that front: below.  In short, a version of Office 2016 is there for download in my Office account - BUT...when I download it and unzip it to install, it still installs...Office 365.

Any way you can think of to get around this?

INSTALLING OLD VERION RESEARCH & RESULTS

Seems like Office 365 has a new "setting" where Multiple Emails Accounts will generate Multiple Inboxes.

Looks like it is a new feature of Office 365.

Since that's the case, I decided to try an old version of Office.

According to

How to download older versions of Microsoft Office apps

It IS  possible to download old versions you've bought in the past.

Following their advice, I got to here, where I found a download link for the Office 2016 I bought years ago! :D

Thing is, when I clicked Download, and even selected the 64-bit version of 2016, MS went ahead and just installed Office 365.

What do you think is happening?

How can I install the Office 2016 that it shows in my account I have and CAN install, without having MS override that and install 365 instead?

Sincerely,

OT

PS: For what it's worth, when I UNINSTALLED Office 365, once the uninstall was done, the Uninstaller even OFFERED me a menu of older Office versions to choose from - sort of like a

"Hey!  We're guessing you uninstalled 365 because it isn't working for you, so, here's the FULL menu of choices - try whatever will work."

But, strange thing is that, no matter what link I clicked there, each one took me to a PAGE with the TITLE of an older version, but the install all showed I'd be installing 365.

Really need your help, as this has slowed things down in terms of productivity for me.

Thanks again! :)))

Office Home and Business is not a volume license or CSP class product and might "enforce" updates, where as a volume license edition can provide more clearly defined older bits to use.  Microsoft has also been providing feature updates to Office for years (2016 evolved and put the search bar in the title bar, IIRC.  It could be that this "change" is something you cannot escape).
