Page numbers in Word
I can not find how to add Page Numbers. I use a Mac, with a new version.
Thanks

I see the problem, when Word is narrow, that tool is hidden. Now, I see it is disabled.
Any idea why it is inactive?
may be a problem with the Mac version - but I don't know how to fix this
What is disabled? The ribbon or the insert page numbers? It adding the page number is grayed out, try going to View and change to "Print Layout". I did some quick research and that is what was suggested.
In Word for Mac, you can insert page numbers form the Ribbon, using Insert tab>Page Number>Page Number, or you can use the macOS menu bar (Insert>Page Numbers).
If the command is disabled, you may be in the wrong View, as Rodney has suggested, or your document may be protected. Choose Tools>Protect Document and uncheck the box beside Protect document for.
Are you in the header or footer when you are trying to insert a page number?
Have you check the View as I mentioned above to ensure you are in "Print Layout" or @John's comment about checking for it being a protected document?
When in home view, what do you see?
can you edit things
Where do you want the page number placed in the header or the footer of the first or starting from the second page?
Just to avoid missing, is editing enabled?
MS has a tendency to ..... revalidate the license...

@JohnKorchrok - I will try changing the View type Thanks
On the ribbon, select "Insert". On the Insert tab, a little more than half way across the ribbon is the "Add Page Numbers" button.
A dialog box will then appear to where you can select the position (top or bottom) and alignment of the page number. You will also have the option not to show the page number on the first page.
