Export SMS Messages from Kyocera Flip phone
I have a Kyocera e4811 Flip phone also known as the DuraXV Extreme+. I was having issues with it. I got a new one, the exact same model. I would like to transfer my text messages from the first phone to the second phone. Can this be done? Perhaps using powershell??
I don't think powershell is an option that will work. I'd start with installation of a driver for mentioned mobile device, then connect and see if Windows recognises the device.
Sometimes the SMS messages & phone numbers are stored on the SIM card, so it is possible that when you move the SIM card over to the new phone they will just be there.
The phone also seems to have an SDXC card slot. so you could also try inserting such a card into the old phone & then copying the SMS to it. Of course that will depend on whether the phone still works enough.
The process though I don't know, as the OS the phone uses is something I never heard of.

to Rodney: I can connect to the computer via USB. No problem. I can see all of the folders. There is no messages or SMS folder.
I can look into Verizon back up and recovery, the only issue I might have with that is that it is a Verizon phone, but I am not using Verizon service. I'm using a reseller.

Here is what you could try. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable. If you computer recognizes it, there should be a folder called "Messages" or "SMS", or something along those lines. Copy and paste these to a folder on your computer. You could then try to reverse the process to copy the messages back to the new phone.
There is a chance that a computer will not recognize it or the file structure.
Another option that the Verizon site shows is using a built in Backup and Recovery. You could then do a restore of data to your new phone.
