Problems With Gmail - Check Mail From Other Account
Subject: Problems With Gmail - Check Mail From Other Account
I'm getting the error message you can see in the screen capture below. "Server returned error." (This image contains a dummy account name, but all the text, error, and settings are the same.) I double checked the password by logging into the account in a separate browser tab, and it is correct.
Can someone help me diagnose what the problem is?

Q: Are we allowed to setup POP retrieval from one Gmail account to another? Or, does it have to be from a non-google account?
Q: I wonder if forwarding from account-2 to account-1 will suffice to keep account-2 in an active status?
According to Google POP Support page, https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7104828
Still, these settings in the receiving Gmail account did not work...
Incoming Mail (POP) Server:
Server: pop.gmail.com
Requires SSL: Yes
Port: 995

the server is pop.gmail.com and you need to enable ssl and use port 995

Yep. Tried that and still getting same error message.
BTW: On the other gmail account, I've enabled the POP setting for all email from now on.
Any other setting I should be aware of that might be causing the error?

1. Setup one Gmail account as a container for all the others.
2. Go to: "Settings > Accounts & Import > Check email from other accounts", Add one of the many other accounts.
3. Repeat for ALL those other accounts.
I do not understand why the connection is not working. Perhaps the SSL check box should be NOT selected? I've tried several different combinations to no avail. I HAVE gotten this to work many times in the past. It is baffling.
When I try to set up an "APP Password", it requires setting up 2-Factor which requires using my other device (cell phone). This is not practical for the many accounts I need to set up.
