Shutdown last of Exchange servers in favor of recipient management tools with ADFS in the environment
We have the following setup
- 2 x 2016 Exchange servers
- Single AD Domain/Forrest
- ADFS (although slowing moving away in favor of conditional access)
- Azure AD Connect
- Exchange Modern Hybrid in place
We have now moved all our mailboxes to 365. Our company would like to turn off the last of the Exchange servers in favor of using the 2019 recipient management tools on a domain member server. I've done a lot of reading on this and think its feasible, however my only reservation is that we are running ADFS. Can we still shutdown (naturally not uninstall) the Exchange servers and use the PowerShell recipient management method? Any advice greatly received.
Thanks

If you don't have mailboxes onprem, decommission your Exchange servers and install the following to manage from onprem.
Keep your ADConnect.
