How to fix bad HDMI port in a Lenovo T 570?
Hi,
This is a Lenovo laptop T 570.
When it is used in the office, 1 docking station, 2 external monitors. The monitors are connected to the docking station with HDML cables (Both HDMI ports either at the dock or monitor). The end user (“John”) can see the 3 screens well (from 2 external monitors and the lcd of the laptop).
However, when John uses it at his home (without docking station; he just connected 1 monitor to the HDMI port in the laptop), it does not work. Something wrong with the HDMI port in the laptop.
Question:
1) What drivers should I repair (maybe, uninstalling and installing back of the driver) (Is it a network driver or something else?)
2) If #1 (by updating that driver) does not work, what other option will I try or proceed?
Thanks,
Tjie

HDMI cables work to connect to monitor using other laptop or desktop.
After connecting HDMI to a monitor, verify in devices or in System / Display. It may just be that the screen is extended and you need to use WIndows+P key to switch display modes.
Displays typically go into standby mode, what happens display is standby and you connect HDMI and then startup the laptop?
If it still doesn't work, the HDMI port could be defective, consider getting a USB-C to HDMI adapter, they're about $25 - which would be cheaper than having the laptop HDMI port replaced/repaired. Check the manual for the laptop if the USB-C port supports video output.

I understood that I need to switch to right one, either VGA, Display or HDMI mode. We did that; we also play around with HDMI to HDMI or HDMI to Display. But seems something wrong with this HDMI port in the laptop.
I am not sure whether the hardware of this HDMI port is bad. I want to TRY with the software wise. I want to uninstall and reinstall the DRIVER for this HDMI port. That is my question; I am not sure which ONE is the HDMI driver? Is it a Network Driver? What is the name of it?
Note: My experience, If we get something wrong with Lenovo laptop's CAMERA. I uninstalled completely the driver , reboot and reinstall the new driver (from Lenovo site), and it will work perfectly.
i would also check the HDMI port for bad contacts, or use a bit of cleaning fluid on it
Does the HDMI port work in the office when connected without the docking? This we would need to know to determine if there is a hardware defect or a driver issue. Also verify the HDMI cable at home is working by checking it on another device, it could be a cable issue.
