How to create db's of the same name on two Exchange servers

Hi I'm building two Exchange 2019 servers to replace our Exchange 2013 servers, which were built by a consultant years ago.  I am at the stage where I am creating the mailbox databases and the Exchange 2019 DAG.

In our existing setup, there are two Exchange 2013 servers in a DAG and the database names on both servers are the same.  I would like to keep the database names the same on the two new Exchange 2019 servers but when creating the databases on the second server I am getting

Multiple databases match "MDB01". Specify a unique value.

I'm not sure how the consultant got around this when building the Exchange 2013 servers and would welcome some advise.

There is no workaround, you need to have unique name.

Ah of course, is a DAG replicated copy of an existing database.  That makes sense.  Thanks very much.
