Looking for recommendations on system backup solutions.

Hi all!

I'm looking for software to backup my system to an external drive.  I'm currently using Acronis but not overly happy with it - it's kind of glitching and doesn't backup according to the scheduler.  What are you using and would you recommend it?  Basically looking for a system image solution for Win 10.

Thanks!

Zack

Veeam all the way. We've done very well both with the backups and with the recoveries. It's a solid product.

The Immutable backup makes it even better. We can have a cloud tier for those backups that can't be deleted for a set number of days.

The backups can be encrypted at rest protecting them from prying eyes on-premises or in the cloud tier.

for better info, we need more info :

-what kind of backup do you want ?  data, or complete disk backup? or both?

-if data  what would be the size ?

Remember that the best backup solution for you may vary depending on your unique circumstances. Assess your specific needs and prioritize features that align with your backup goals and requirements. It's also a good practice to periodically review and update your backup strategy to ensure it remains effective and relevant.

Macrium Reflect (https://www.macrium.com/) has both backup and cloning. i tried the free version to clone a drive & it worked very well. both home & business versions available.

Sorry nobus, I'm looking for a complete disk that if mine gets corrupted I can just restore and be up and running quickly.  Just looking at one PC running Windows 10.  Size is 256GB SSD and 2TB HD.  The SSD is 3/4 full and the HD is 1/4 full.  Looking for either cloud storage with heavy encryption or on a external HD.

I've installed Veeam which I must say was HUGE at 12.2GB install file but it says that exFat isn't a good file format for my external drive due to bugs that could cause the files to be corrupted, so I'm not exactly sure what format I should use.  I imagine if I do NTFS and try and restore from that, the restore USB won't be able to read that??  Not sure if that's accurate.

Hope that helps!

I don't think you installed Veeam Agent but the Veeam Backup and Replication.

Veeam Agent install folder on my machine is 104MB

VeeamAgentWindows_6.0.2.1090.zip download size 144MB

if you need an exact copy on a separate drive, i would just take a second disk with the same interface ( sata, or NVMe) and use that tyo put an image on it dayly

if your system has only 1 disk slot, use an usb drive enclosure or dock

you can also try (30 day free trial) of Macrium Reflect (https://www.macrium.com/) ... cloning & backup options!
