How to get the shortcut of Active Directory Users and Computers in a Windows 11 laptop which is in Microsoft Intune

Hi,

This is a Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and Intune environment.

Mostly all the devices (laptops and a few desktops) have in in the Microsoft Intune; however, a few are still in Local Domain or On Prem AD.

The domain is Boba. Local

I just reset my computer and I lost the shortcuts to go to Active Directory Users and computers. My computer has Windows11 OS. And it is in Microsoft Intune.

I need to get the shortcut to Active Directory Users and computers in my computer. Somebody would show me how to get it please.

Thanks,

You can also manually copy those .msc and associated .dll files from a Windows Server system.  It's not as reliable if you don't know which .dll files you need.

Hi Serialband,

Would you please elaborate what do you mean with this: "You can also manually copy those .msc and associated .dll files from a Windows Server system."

I believe the Windowss Server is the Domain Controller?
Where can I get the above .msc and .dll?

Thanks

Those files generally reside on a Windows Server 2022/2019/2016/ in the system32 folder.  If your only Windows Server is the domain controller, then you'll need to copy them from your domain controller.  It'll be simpler to press the Windows key and type Add optional Feature to install the RSAT tools, for most features.  I usually add some additional MSC & DLL files that don't normally come with RSAT.

The files are located in C:\Windows\System32\(*.msc,*.dll}.  Copy them to your local system32 folder and most of them will run.  A few of them require associated folders and environment path settings to work, but most of the simpler ones will just work if you just copy them to your Windows 10 or 11 systems.  Back in the old XP days, I just copied the tools to my workstation, so I didn't have to compete with the other admins to access the limited Admin RDP consoles.
