Site Down Detector

Is a website really down? Use this tool to make sure it's not just you!

<

Documentation

This tool checks to see if a site is reachable or not.  It tests a domain name by trying a GET request from Expert Exchange's network, and will report the status code returned. This is a good way to check connectivity from a network other than your own.

NOTE: Since this tool runs from Experts Exchange servers, you can only scan IPs/domains that are externally available.

Reasons to use site down detector

  • Verify reports of downtime - Your users are saying your site is down, but it seems fine to you! You can use this tool to do an independent check outside of your own network.

  • Double check another website - You can't seem to access another website.  Are they having issues, or is it something wrong with your own connection or network? You can use this tool to check if that website is really down.
