Adoption of Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility and Security solution and Office 365 will re-order the File Sync and Share market

Microsoft has stated that its Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) is the fastest growing product in the history of the company.  The growing adoption of EMS and Office 365 in corporate and government customers are creating waves in the Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) space:
  • Intune is the Enterprise Mobility Management component of EMS, and Microsoft has been enhancing its capabilities at a rapid pace.  As Intune improves, more and more customers will be switching from traditional mobility management suites such as MobileIron, Blackberry and AirWatch.  Companies using the EFSS offerings bundled with these suites will look to migrate to new tools that support the Intune platform for mobility management.  We will also start to see traditional mobility management companies pushing their EFSS solutions as stand-alone rather than bundled offerings.
  • In addition to Intune compatibility, companies adopting Office 365 will demand that their EFSS solution integrate with the native Office mobile applications for data access on the road.  Companies are beginning to leverage Microsoft Intune to apply data leakage policies to the Office mobile applications and will look to adopt EFSS tools that support this scenario.
While cloud-based storage will continue to grow rapidly, most companies will

so, even with

the figure is Level of similarity 28%

it cannot be published?

which because the Article contains the latest features

Support for additional guest operating systems: Windows 10, Ubuntu 15.
Offline conversions for HyperV 2012 R2 virtual machines.
SSH key based authentication for the Linux sources during conversion.
Support for VMware Workstation 12.

which are available from the release notes...

let me mess with the words!

So what figure do I have to get to here, otherwise I'm wasting my time!

and what do I do, with content that is scroing against EE Articles, delete the original articles, so this can be published!

Enterprise Mobility and BYOD For Dummies

Like “For Dummies” books, you can read this in whatever order you choose and learn about mobility and BYOD; and how to put a competitive mobile infrastructure in place. Developed for SMBs and large enterprises alike, you will find helpful use cases, planning, and implementation.

If you are thinking about using VMware, you should read this article first.  Unless the software you plan to use is specifically optimized for more processors,  the system will slow itself down.

In my experience VMware Converter is full of bugs and just does not work.

Local Machine grayed out when I try and convert physical machine.

When trying to convert an acronis backup I got a Great error messages like:
The source parameters are invalid

In my opinion using the software a pain and simply does not work as advertised.

The person that I spoke to on the vmware workstation help line did not know the product at all.

Going to try and get my money back tomorrow.

HOW TO: FAQ VMware P2V Troubleshooting

When I first wrote this article for Experts Exchange in 2011, it was to answer these common questions asked on the site every week:

  • How do I backup my virtual machines?
  • What software product do I use to backup my virtual machines?
  • What software can I use to backup my virtual machines on FREE ESXi?
  • How can I backup my virtual machines whilst powered on?

These questions are just as relevant today as they were then. Four years is a lifetime in software development, and there have been some major changes since this article was first written, so I'm revisiting and revising with new content, additional comments, and new backup products.

If you’re someone who is asking one of the questions above, you should evaluate these recommended products and choose what works best for you.

These are the 12 most popular products we have recommended, installed for clients, and use everyday for ESXi:

(While many of these software vendors offer FREE versions of their software, all of these software products will only function with the licensed versions of VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi). They will not work with the ESXi FREE version.)

It was at version v5 when this article was first written, and is still a very popular product; Many VMware Administrators around the world use Veeam Backup and Replication. It is packed with strong product features, has won…

It is still  my opinion, they are much better FREE alternatives than GhettoVCB, each to their own!

If you need to complete a Physical to Virtual (P2V), Virtual to Virtual (V2V) conversion to a VMware product (VMware Workstation, Player or VMware vSphere (ESXi) ) for FREE, then there is some good news...

Support for virtual machine hardware version 11.
Compatibility with vSphere 6.0 and Workstation 11.
Support for additional guest operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Ubuntu 14, CentOS 6-7, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1.
 Support of pure IPv6 environments.
 Proxy mode.

 Support for XFS file system.
Support for predictable network interface names.
Also fixes numerous issues with crashing and conversion issues, when converting physical or virtual computers to VMware vSphere vCenter Server 6.0 and VMware Hypervisor ESXi 6.0.

Please note the following, as with all releases of VMware vCenter Converter Standalone, when a operating system vendor discontinues an Operating System, VMware also removes the support from VMware vCenter Converter Standalone. With the release of VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.0, Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit and 64-bit) support has been removed, the last version that supported Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit and 64-bit) was VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.3

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.3 was released on 9 October 2014, and this latest version. It's very important you update to this version, which fixes a widely known critical security vulnerability issue in the Bash shell, also referred to as Shellshock

During Linux P2V conversions, Converter Standalone is running a Helper VM at the destination location. The Helper VM of vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.2 might use the Bash shell which is part of the Linux operating system. In case the operating system has a vulnerable version of Bash, the Bash security vulnerability might be exploited through the helper VM.

Refer to KB 2091104 for information about issues that have been addressed in this update

If you have a large estate of physical machines to migrate, these products have a scheduler and can perform automated workflows, but these are commercial products and not FREE like VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.3
