Adobe Acrobat is a family of application software and Web services developed by Adobe Systems to view, create, manipulate, print and manage files in Portable Document Format (PDF). The family comprises Acrobat Reader (formerly Adobe Reader), Acrobat (formerly Acrobat Exchange) and Acrobat.com. The commercial proprietary Acrobat, available for Microsoft Windows and OS X only, can also create, edit, convert, digitally sign, encrypt, export and publish PDF files.

I'm trying to understand what a digital certificate is and why I need it to sign a document.  I know in the following instructions I can create my own digital certificate for free, but when and how do I use a digital certificate to sign something?  What is a digital signature in comparison to taking a picture of my signature and pasting it.

Thanks.

My engineer client is looking to replace paper commenting & drawing mark ups with digital replacement.

They're considering marking up a pdf. But, using a mouse to draw in Acrobat is a pain. So, I think a good solution would be a digital pen and or tablet.

Maybe something like this: XP-PEN Deco 01 V2 10x6.25 Inch Digital Graphics Drawing Tablet Drawing Pen Tablet

If you've experienced using any pen/tablet input devices or have anything useful to say about it, I'd appreciate your comments - hardware brand, pros, cons, etc.

Unable to create PDF of band post.  I have a band post under a band group at band.us.

If I right-click the band group and say "convert web page to Adobe PDF" the function appears to hang.

It seems to do that with other web pages also.

I am using Windows 10 and Google Chrome.

Assistance in resolving this is greatly appreciated.

Hello experts. I created a test pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro with three simple text field properties. Test1, Test2, and Test3. I have a table in ms access for office 365 call tbl_test that contains the identical field names as my pdf names. Test1, Test2 and Test3.

All I am trying to do is populate the pdf form field names with what every I put in my ms access field names. Everything I have tried to google or go on youtube (preferably since I am not a programmer) to view shows how to export from say an entire excel into a pdf to where I am looking for say some sort of mapping. Hope I am making sense and any help for a newbie would be great.

We have three people who are getting the error message IMSLib not found. Acrobat services will not work.

All on Adobe Standard 2017.

The first system was Windows 7, installing the Adobe Application Manager fixed the issue.

On the second system, which is Windows 10, the installation of Adobe Application Manager and Creative Cloud both failed at 5%. I uninstalled Adobe Standard with the adobe uninstall tool and reinstalled, both with an older version of the installer and a newly downloaded installer.

We have downloaded and replaced the OOBE folder within C:/Program Files x86/Common Files/Adobe

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I know this has been an issue in the past but haven't seen any newer issues creep up in the forums, figured a new thread couldn't hurt.

Trying to add a pdf file to powerpoint.  I have inserted a pdf file as an object into a powerpoint presentation.  Then I read instructions on how to make it active within the presentation by adding an action to it.  The action I have chose is :  mouse click - open .  When I do this all it does it shrink the pdf file.  It shows it normally (the first page of the pdf file) and then when I click on the pdf it just shows up like it is a thumbnail.

All I really want to do is click to the slide of the pdf file, click it, and it brings up adobe reader to view the pdf

I'm having a problem when i merge two PDF documents.  The process that i run through is to open the first larger document and then from within Acrobat i run through the INSERT routine.  Once the insert is complete random words and characters are changed to garbage.  It looks similar to the wingdings font.  Some words are completely replaced while other words are only partially replaced with bad characters.  All of these words are written in English

I'm using a Windows 10 computer with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2015.006.30508

Is there a way to merge documents without the words/fonts becoming illegible?

A while ago I made a change in the settings/preferences in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  Now, when I go to close a document it pops up with a dialog box asking what to do with the hidden information.  I don't want it to pop-up every time I close a document; it is so frustrating.  I changed something, but don't know what I have searched the Adobe forum and Google and cannot find a setting to change.
How to prevent this pop-up on SAVEPicPick-1514.png

In Adobe Acrobat Pro how do I enable the option to copy the selected text into Highlights, annotations and comments?

Need robust highlight & comment exporting for PDFs.

Found this description here:

OK. I found an awesome tool in the [Adobe Acrobat] app Highlights!

My workflow is now read and highlight in Preview, Save, Open in Highlights and export to .pdf (several other options available.) Easy.

The new .pdf is very easy to read, the highlights I made are collated under a page number reference.

Thanks for replies to my question. Problem is solved.

Just about to buy another brand which has good export of comments, but would prefer to use Adobe Acrobat DC.

Anyone have any experience with this additional comment exporting app inside Adobe Acrobat called "Highlights" described above?  Need some screenshots of what this looks like in Adobe Acrobat?  It seems like it is a US$30 add-on.  Am I right?  Is it available if I'm using the subscription model for Adobe Acrobat?  Not the highlighting feature itself - that's a default feature.  It seems to be some kind of add-on offered by Adobe that cleanly exports comments & highlights.

Many thanks!!!!

I am replacing my Windows 7 Pro computer with a Windows 10 Pro computer.

I have Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 on my Windows 7 computer.
I have Adobe Arobat XI Standard on my Windows 7 computer.

Since I cannot locate the CD for those 2 software, is there anyway I can look on my Windows 7 computer,
that I can send information to Microsoft and Adobe to show that I have valid software installed
and I would like to migrate it to Windows 10 or download the software again?

Thank you!

I'd like to know how to have a "fillable" pdf file on my website.

I need my customers to download the file, complete it, and send it back.

I assume I need to buy some kind of license from Adobe?  It's sortof like giving everybody access to Adobe Acrobat DC functionality for just that one file.

Or maybe, if that's either impossible or too expensive, an alternative solution might be just to share a Google Docs file?

Thanks

How to convert Base64 Encode format to pdf using Notepad++ (or) UltraEdit ?

We are not allowed to use any other third party tools.

I have an existing file which came to us in Base64 Encode format.  In order to review the file, we will have to convert the Base64 Encode to pdf file.

I recently purchased a copy of Adobe DC Standard for a user. I assigned the license to them and they have been using it without problems. Starting yesterday, they began seeing a message that, "In 22 days, the membership giving you access to Adobe will expire"Adobe Message (see attachment)

My Adobe licensing account doesn't expire until October 2020. This is the same account that shows the license of Adobe DC Standard that is assigned to the user. AdobeAcountExp.JPG See attachment.

Any idea why my users is seeing this message and how to make it go away?

We have inherited a new site with an ageing terminal server.  On the terminal server they have Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, Version 9.0.0 which is used to edit PDF forms.  This is used by 50 users via the terminal server whilst the site only has one device copy of Adobe Acrobat Standard 9, Version 9.0.0.  Is this licensed correctly?

I know on more recent copies of Adobe you need one copy per user but I’ve been told on older copies such as this you can use it on a terminal server with one device licence.
