I want to have a duplicate Lightroom setup on two computers in two different cities.
Macs at both ends.  High Sierra OS
Photos are divided into folders, based on the date of import

My base of operations is in New York City, and I have to spend some time away in Massachusetts
Lightroom has over 300,000 pictures, and the catalog is over 4.39 GB

I need my assistant to sync and review my collection, delete photos and add keywords, etc.
After the assistant does their changes, I will need the

In preparation, I did the following copying:
I duplicated all the LR files onto a removable drive  (CRU RTX)
I took the drive with me to the second city

I set up a VPN between the two locations.
NYC has a fast FIOS connection:  greater than 300 Mbps both download and upload.  Sometimes Speedtest will show >600 for each
MA has a cable connection - about 60Mbps Download and 20Mbps Upload

I connect from NYC to MA
Tunnelblick on NYC computer
Araknis Router in MA has OpenVPN

First Method of sync:
Mac File Sharing
"Beyond Compare" application to update from one direction to another
Too slow to compare files over a VPN
Connection would drop - I assume from the 'stress' of comparing too many files

Second Method of sync:
"Retrospect" application - Server in NYC, Client in MA.
The Client works locally on the MA computer to catalog changes,
Server in NYC compares MA catalog of files to NYC local catalog
Retrospect copies new and changed files

  • Photoshop CC
  • Macbook

Whenever I save my file on Photoshop CC, my artboard turns upside down. I use a Macbook which is hooked up to two other monitors and this seems to happen when I disconnect it from the monitors (when I need to work elsewhere), then reconnect it to the monitors (when I'm back at my desk). I presume it's some resolution issue. The issue happens when my Macbook is reconnected to my two monitors. When I use my Macbook on its own, it doesn't happen.

What fixes it is minimizing and expanding the Photoshop program but the fix is temporary and the next time I save the file, it turns upside down again. A better fix is restarting Photoshop altogether, but the next time I disconnect/reconnect my Macbook to the monitors, it happens again.

I tried doing an animation of an image in Premier Pro to put on Facebook - I did it the exact dimension Facebook said, but when I tried to upload it, it got rejected because the aspect ratio was wrong (it needed to be between 1:1 and 2:1 apparently). I googled about this and it seems you need to set up a sequence and set the pixel aspect ratio but when I did the 2:1 setting the video had black borders. How do I create a Facebook video (from an image) in Premier Pro? What settings do I use? Note there only seems to be a fixed set of aspect ratios to choose from and most of them were not between 1:1 and 2:1.

I've created two opacity masks with Premier Pro CC2017 and defined their shape with the pen tool.  But they seem to be "grouped" because changing the position in Effect Controls moves them together.  I need to put one mask one place and the other mask another place.  Is there any way to do that?

Thanks.

Can anyone any good at photoshop but a new head (with peroxide in hair, so really just a face replacement) or new peroxide hair do to this face?
I have been working on it for ages.  The angles are odd and she seems to have a really narrow face or something is making it impossible to achieve.  I'd love the sunnies removed too, so maybe yeah a new blond face...
Can anyone help?

Is there a tool/program that I can feed it an audio file and it will create an audio snippet of words mentioned by a voice with searchable metadata?
The goal is to create those types of gags where you have a collection of words mentioned by someone, and then you just create something silly with this.
What is this even called?  Sorry, I'm not an audio guy. Any tools for this? Should I attempt to make one in C#?

I have a video clip that is 15 seconds long. (film grain) stock footage. My goal is to overlay this (film grain stock footage that is 15 seconds long) over another video that is ..lets say 2 minutes long. I would like to know, in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 how do I adjust the length of the 15 seconds video clip to 2 minutes long, without adjusting the speed? I would like to keep the speed the same but only adjust the length of the video clip to something longer. Can this be done in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018? I remember VEGAS doing this so easily.

I have designed something basic in adobe indesign.
Exported to pdf and now Im trying to print full screen so that my image overlaps the page.

It's an image that goes full width and I've played around with the bleed etc but my understanding is limited on this.
It keeps on printing like this. See attachments.

I wonder if anyone can help.

It's a Canon MG7760.

Thank you.

I am working with variable data and when I bring in my text (in Sinhala) which is correct in my data, it is changed as soon as it is placed in InDesign. What do I need to do in order to maintain the correct rendering of the text.

I can send you an example if you need to see what happens.

Is there something that needs to be done to add Sinhala to the World-Ready Composer?

Looking to recreate something like this but wondering how to execute it?

I suppose you need the same camera angle and mask out frame by frame one of the scenes?  Is there an easier way to accomplish this?

Hi,

I'm a Windows guy, so maybe I'm missing something...

When I open up a Macbook Pro and lick on the Photo app, I can see all (14K) photos.

I've recently installed Lightroom 6, and tried importing those photos into the Lightroom catalogue. Problem is, I can't find the Mac Photos folder during the Lightroom Import process.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

I am deploying Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign on an application server. I want to prevent messages like the "minimum vRAM" message from popping up for each user. I know I can have the user click the "don't show again" but I would like to block/acknowledge these messages completely.

Hello,
I am trying to allow entered content by end user to flow from bottom of page two to top of page three.  I have tried everything and I am at the end of my rope.  I'd like to pay you to look at my form and fix it for me.  Or do a webex with me and show me how to do it.  Or both!  Gladly will pay for whatever.

Page 2 - appearances.  Almost all of the time, end user will enter information that is larger than field shown.  When this occurs, I'd like it to go to the next page.
thank you!

Saw this image online and loved it. Need to know what the name of this type of Edit is called so I can youtube it. If there is a free preset I can download for Lightroom CC, that would be even better. However, I would need to know the name of this particular preset.

I've been living in an ancient world, still using Photoshop CS2. Its time to upgrade, but I have many PSD files created in CS2. My question is a simple one (hopefully).

Will my PSD files be compatible with Photoshop CC? Will I be able to open and edit my old PSD's in CC?

Dear Experts

I would like to edit an MP4 video file I have and overlay some of my own photos onto parts of the video.

For example - see attached mp4 video.  I would like to be able to add my own photo onto the TV screen in the video at 00:23 in the video attached.

Can anyone advise if this is even possible - and if so, what software can I best achieve this with?

Many thanks for any help.

Grant

If video file not attached - see link below for video I have that I wish to edit!

I have an Adobe Livecycle generated form, the form is hosted on an intranet, and it collects few pieces of information from users, I'm trying to add a "save as" button onto the form so that users can save, print, email the form along with the data entered, so I added a "save as" button with the relative javascript line (app.execMenuItem("SaveAs"), but when I preview it I get an error;
Save a Blank Copy of this Form, Data typed into this form will not be saved.

What's the work around and what do you recommend.

Thx

I have an Aramaic Nasrani ("Christian") image on a black background I want to separate from the black, so I can make a logo with it.
The Nasrani is attached, and also is a composite I made in MS PowerPoint 2016.
Ideally I want to make the black go away, and leave me with an Alpha channel I can send to an embroidery shop.
Can anyone step me through that in either PPT 2016 or Adobe CS6? (I have Photoshop CS6 but am NOT literate.)
Files are attached. Thanks.
