Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a cross-platform multimedia and software platform used to embed animations, video, and interactive applications into web pages and desktop and mobile applications and games. Flash displays text, vector and raster graphics to provide animations, video games and applications. The ActionScript programming language allows creation of interactive animations, video games, web applications, desktop applications and mobile applications.

On a page on my website, I have have 5 mini-players side by side, each of which played a different promotional announcement for features on the site that changed weekly. I had been using Dewplayer, as it was very easy to use, just the right size and worked well. All I had to do was to change the mp3 file for each player and that was that.

Now, with Flash getting the axe bit by bit, I need to find another such player

I thought this would be no big deal, but I haven't found anything yet that I like.

So I'm asking you experts for some help and suggestions on this, preferably players that you know first-hand and are 100% non-Flash powered.

I have created a read-only PowerPoint 2013 file with 5 Flash slides. They can be played in 2013 (32) but not in 2019 (32) on the same device (Win 10 Pro 64 laptop). As I need to distribute the file following presentations, how can I cure that, please?

Something has happened to radiogeorge.com that is wreaking major havoc.

A couple of days ago, when I went to a page to start music playing for that "channel," the jukebox image was not appearing and instead, there was a notice that said "Adobe Flash Player is blocked."

This has never appeared before and with no "how-to" for a site visitor to unblock the player, will certainly result in a huge egress of visitors to the site.

When I tried a page in the Smooth Jazz section, clicking on a channel link resulted in a popup for DOWNLOADING the page, which is .htm!

I called my web host server, Hostmonster, and the tech I spoke with was basically clueless, asking about WordPress and seemingly not comprehending my reply that the site was built (by me) in HTML (using Front Page).

I am very anxious about this since I have accounts that are paying to be included in the operation.

Also: I recently had some coding work done to ultimately replace the Flash players since Adobe is pulling the plug next year. I had a page set up with the new replacement player, and was pleased to see that it also worked if you brought up the site on a cell phone. However, that has stopped working as well, as of the day before yesterday.

This is a fairly desperate situation, so if you can say specifically what this is and what need to be done to fix it, I would very much appreciate hearing from you here on Experts Exchange.

Hi,
I've got issue of Adobe flash player in Chrome and how to set it up properly?

I just found this out:

A number of gaming, education, and video sites still use Flash, and Adobe says it remains committed to supporting the technology until 2020 alongside partners like Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla. Microsoft says it plans to disable Flash by default in Edge and Internet Explorer in mid to late 2019, with a full removal from all supported versions of Windows by 2020. Google will continue phasing out Flash over the next few years, while Mozilla says Firefox users will be able to choose which websites are able to run Flash next month and allow Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) users to keep using Flash until the end of 2020.

My site, www.radiogeorge.com, has used a modified Flash player for years. While the big change is a year away, I'd like to start the obviously necessary overhaul now. It looks like I'll need a new player that can play the mp3 files I use, and I would like it to work across multiple browsers as well as on cell phones if possible. (Note: for cell phone usage, I do not use an app; I encourage interested parties to simply go to the website, the design of which makes it easy to select and listen to your preferred "channel.") Also note that this option is not available at present on most phones.

Lots of work to be done. Experts, what are your suggestions?

I've inherited a bunch of legacy transit maps originally built in Flash CS5. These maps pan zoom, and reveal stop ID information when a given stop is rolled over. They also have a legend that can be expanded.

Here is a sample:

https://test.3rduse.com/sample/swf/sample.html

The native Flash CS5 sample file can be downloaded and viewed below. It's fairly simple – nothing fancy:

https://test.3rduse.com/sample/sample.zip

I'm hoping there is a way to convert these to HTML5 Canvas using Adobe Animate. These original native files will open in that app, and all the stops (there are over 2000 spread across dozens of files – one for each route of the service) are placed and have the correct IDs associated. I've started converting to AS3 (from AS1 – yes, these are that old), but I don't know if that's worthwhile. I have no experience with Actionscript to speak of.

If this is possible, I suppose it's then a matter of figuring out how to convert them. Ideally the final result will be usable on mobile devices.

If I'm barking up the wrong tree using Animate, I'm open to ideas. But again, with thousands of stops and all of them placed on maps and tagged with the proper ID, much of the battle is won if I can continue using Adobe Animate to push out html5 versions. Is this possible, and if so what would be the best way forward given what I already have?

If you can offer some guidance, please do fire away. Many thanks!

How to stop Adobe updates from removing bEnableTrustedConversion registry key? Several weeks ago we started seeing a security prompt pop up for Adobe. Confirm Security Prompt When Printing PDF from Outlook was where we saw this. I followed the instructions on the required registry settings and all was fine until the next Adobe update came along. When this update was applied it removed the  bEnableTrustedConversion registry key. What is the best way to stop this from occurring?

The user needs to convert a short flash video (.FLV) to a video loop of some sort that can appear on the home page of a website.  (I assume that a looping GIF might be the way to go)

How do I do this conversion?   I have tried a few websites that offer this service, but they either have trouble recognizing the .FLV file or only return an empty video.

I have the Adobe Creative Suite, but not all the apps are installed.

Thanks

Whenever I am using Chrome and there is something that requires Adobe Flash Player(AFP). I get a message saying click to enable AFP. and when I do that another pop-up box says run flash allow -block. See screen capture. In spite of every time, I say yes to run flash it keeps coming up every time there is AFP need in what I am trying to access. Is there a way to enable AFP to run without being asked every single time?

Thank you,

Basem

Saw a youtube link (which I've now misplaced) that Bluestack software could
replace VCE exam dumps player:
https://www.bluestacks.com/download.html?utm_campaign=homepage-dl-button#download

I've installed it on my Windows but doesn't seem to find any option that could play it.
Anyone knows?  Or any other freeware player to play VCE dumps on Windows (not
for Android)?

First time I experience this issue and cant seem to find any information regarding this.
Currently users using Acrobat 11.0.23 are having trouble viewing files created by users using 11.0.0.
File looks the same but its missing 1 image. If we open it on any other computer using version 11.0.0 it works fine but if we use it on version 11.0.20 and up it doesnt show up.

I have some "old" code that plays a video in "Flash", which means it does not work on Apple platforms and on Firefox it asks something like "Want to play Flash Video?". Of course we don't want customers to see that. The "Flash" code is:
<object id="Object1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="player_flv_maxi.swf" width="500" height="360">
<noscript><a href="http://www.dvdvideosoft.com">freeware</a></noscript>
<param name="movie" value="player_flv_maxi.swf" />
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
<param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="menu" value="true" />
<param name="autoplay" value="true" />
<param name="autoload" value="false" />
<param name="FlashVars" value="configxml=intro_video_AJ_Antico_Spring_2010_8_3_2010.xml" />
</object>

Open in new window

My understanding is that in HTML 5 there is a way to do this without Flash.

How do I convert the swf file into something else that will work natively in HTML 5 (like maybe mp3?).
