Analytics is the discovery and communication of meaningful patterns in data. Especially valuable in areas rich with recorded information, analytics relies on the simultaneous application of statistics, computer programming and operations research to quantify performance. Specifically, areas within analytics include predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, enterprise decision management, retail analytics, store assortment and stock-keeping unit optimization, marketing optimization and marketing mix modeling, web analytics, sales force sizing and optimization, price and promotion modeling, predictive science, credit risk analysis, and fraud analytics.

Is there a way to get get peak hour traffic count using SharePoint 2010 Web Analytics.

I do not think it is available in the existing reports in Web Analytics of SharePoint 2010.

Let me know if it is or if there is a way to get using Analytics tables in SQL Server database.

thanks

Hi,

I am searching for a free web analytics solution for SharePoint Foundation 2010. I need to track an internal site and most importantly be able to track who is visiting where and what. It would also be helpful if this information could then be sorted by organizational unit. Is there any reporting that goes with Active Directory or any suggestions on a solution to use?

Thank You

I would like to see web site statistics. Are there any online companies that provide statistics for free?  I am most interested in seeing traffic related info.

I'm having trouble finding a great web analytics system that monitors website bandwidth by watching the IIS log files. I need something that is *not* commandline based or very technical. I'm doing this for my company who is concerned about the amount of traffic and where it is coming from. We serve mostly video and audio files from various Dot Net Nuke websites.

Hello,

We have a client that is using SharePoint 2010. They need the Web Analytic's configured so the operations manager can review the usage reports. I have tried to follow Microsoft's support page on creating and configuring Web Analytic's, but I run into a big issue.

In Central Admin, I go to Application Management --> Manage Service Applications --> Click the New button on the ribbon so I can select Web Analytic's, but the only service that is shown in that list is the Business Data Connectivity Service. I cannot find anywhere in MS documentation, as of yet at least, how to add more services to that list, or even the issue that causes that list to be empty. Some expert help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

I'd like to track Linkshare purchases using Google Analytics.

Am I missing something obvious or is there a real technique to this?

Thanks!

I am looking for a list of web analytics software we can host on our servers.  So far I have only been able to find 7 of them: "Open Web Analytics", "Piwik", "FireStats ", "Grape Web Statistics", "SlimStat", "TraceWatch", and "Mint".  It looks like none of these that I've listed were meant to be run on IIS and ideally we want one that will run on the Microsoft technology stack (Windows, IIS, Sql Server).  It would be great if it were free but if there was a good one that costed money I think my bosses would spring for it.  Can someone post a list of self-hosted web analytics software that we can run on our Microsoft environment (so I can review them against eachother)?

Thanks

Hello Everybody,

I have SharePoint 2010 server in DMZ which is not in domain and SQL server which is located in LAN. I was able over PowerShell to configure almost all my services to use SQL authentication (and not Windows Integrated).

I stopped with Web Analytics Service where I didn't find on web syntax for connection string of its xml string. It looks like this:

$stagerSubscription = "<StagingDatabases><StagingDatabase ServerName='$databaseServerName' DatabaseName='$StagerDB'/></StagingDatabases>"
$reportingSubscription = "<ReportingDatabases><ReportingDatabase ServerName='$databaseServerName' DatabaseName='$WarehouseDB'/></ReportingDatabases>"

New-SPWebAnalyticsServiceApplication -Name $WebAnalyticsSAName -ApplicationPool $saAppPoolName -ReportingDataRetention 20 -SamplingRate 100 -ListOfReportingDatabases $reportingSubscription -ListOfStagingDatabases $stagerSubscription

There was no explanation on technet or anywhere else :(

I'd really appreciate some ideas.

Thanks,
Matt

Web Analytics reports cannot be displayed because the Web Analytics Service Application is not provisioned. Contact the farm administrator to request that the Web Analytics Service Application be provisioned.

Googled this and it spoke of services and web apps needing to be turned on - as far as  can tell there are.
Where exactly should I be looking to get this working.
It seemed to work fine on the Dev server OOTB but not the production server.
Only difference being that the Dev server is a clean 2010 install where as the production server is an in place upgrade from 2007 MOSS to SP 2010

From what I am reading it seems you would need two different analytics for the web and mobile sites.
What is the best way? Recommended product.

We are a Windows shop and usually get our stats of reading the IIS logs on a load balanced server ( 2 servers ).
Medium sized company.

Someone recommended Clicky but it seems very simplistic and geared mostly for Mobile.

Thank you in advance experts.

For example
User enterred site
user visited that page
user commented on that article
user visted that another page.

something like that, please give me your guidance in how to do this, I know sharepoint logs everything, what I dont know is how to get the data this way

I have several pages on our website that I like to know where the users are coming for these  pages. Some of our partners have placed links to some pages on our website and we would like to know how many users are coming to our web pages from these links.  First, I need to find out which partner is linking to our pages. Next, I need to know to which of our pages they have links. Once I know who has which links, I need to know how many users actually came to our website from each partner website that has links to our pages.
FYI, our website is mostly html and is being hosted by godaddy

Hi,

I have two excel files each with a column of data in csv format (pls see attached files). I would like to do a Kolmogrov smirnov test, with a graphical output that can be saved and a Pearson correlation using these two datasets.
Can someone help me how I should go about doing it in R. I read the commands in R for KS test as

ks.test(x, y, ..., alternative = c("two.sided", "less", "greater"), exact = NULL)

But not sure how to input my data, and what two.sided, less, greater mean, ideally I would like R to accept the two files seperately by asking for each file name from me and then analysing and giving an output that can be imported on to excel and graphically visualised.
I am also happy to use Matlab, given that I am somewhat familiar with R.

Any help would be greately appreciated.

Thanks.

if in my photo gallery when navigating between images i only reload the image not the whole website, does this considered as new page view on my website on alexa and google analytics or not?

as an example in facebook when i am checking an album, when i go from 1 image to another image, the image change only (using Ajax) does this count as they have new page views or not?

on the other hand, if i made it as Iframe, does refreshing the Iframe is considered as  new page views or not?

Hello Everyone,

I started running facebook PPC last year in September and have had success until 3 months ago. My ads are a niche target (for people who have criminal records) so the best CTR I ever got was 0.035 which is understandable.

The ads take the users on a landing page where they enter their information for us to call them back and try to close a sale. www.pardonsonly.ca/pardon1/ is one of the landing pages I am using and have had very good success with until February.

Until Middle of January this year, I was spending $100 a day and that would get me around 150 clicks and I would get 25 conversions out of that, bringing my cost per lead to $4/lead or /conversion.

I have had 20 different campaigns setup and I had been using all of them and they would all have pretty much the same results. Around 3 months ago, for some reason, things started to change and have gotten to a point where I am getting clicks, I am getting visitors, I still have CTRs of 0.035 however two things have changed:

1. Bid ranges / suggested CPC bids have skyrocketed to around 1.25 (previously between 0.50 - 0.75), this may be because more advertisers are using facebook OKAY, no problem!

2. I am getting a lot of clicks but no conversions. Until two months ago, I had 1 conversion out of every 7 clicks. Now I am not getting even one conversion out of 30 clicks. I get 1 conversion out of 40 clicks IF i am lucky.

I have tried many things. I have run the same ads and campaigns that i was …

Hello Experts,

I'm a SQL Server 2008 Administrator with a big challenge on my hands.  I am building a Data Warehouse to support web analytics for 500+ Billion records per month.  I am collecting and processing web logs from hundreds of servers and must deliver up-to-the-hour reports that allow a drill-down of this data.  The end product must support drill down for a relatively very granular amount of data (i.e. hits by file, by user, unique users per day,  etc.).   I would say that for decision support, this data should allow a very granular view of all events.

Here are my questions regarding my task:
1.  If I batch processes data directly into a multi-dimensional data cube (HOLAP or MOLAP), do I need to save any data in a relational database?

2.  what type of storage considerations should I account for? Does anyone have a good capacity planning guide to OLAP?

3. What type of scalability limitations would I run into with SSAS / OLAP?

4.  If I have one set of measurements for aggregations stored in the cube, then decide to add another set of measures, will I need to re-process the entire cube?  Do I need the rest of my data (from the Relational Data Warehouse)?

My problem is that I am limited in the amount of space / hardware I have to store and process these values.  I currently maintain only a 7 - 10 days worth of data, and I create static reports that support a very small view of basic measurements - all in RDBMS.  I would like to allow for a much more …

When visitors goes to an URL, and clicks on one of the displayed file names,
I would like to record date, time, filename, and increment a counter for said
file name, and also the grand-total of suck clicks.

The I want to displayed the top x (say 50) files that were clicked, as well
as the total number of clicks on all the files since a certain date,
and display that also.

How to do it in PHP, CGI or whatever, in Linux hosting environment?
