Analytics is the discovery and communication of meaningful patterns in data. Especially valuable in areas rich with recorded information, analytics relies on the simultaneous application of statistics, computer programming and operations research to quantify performance. Specifically, areas within analytics include predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, enterprise decision management, retail analytics, store assortment and stock-keeping unit optimization, marketing optimization and marketing mix modeling, web analytics, sales force sizing and optimization, price and promotion modeling, predictive science, credit risk analysis, and fraud analytics.

My website www.mauitradewinds.com appears to have had an abrupt decline in session duration around mid-April of last year.  Session Duration
From the launch of the site in 2014 until Apr. 2016, there were 34K sessions with an average duration of 2:30, and 4.3 page views, with a bounce rate of 29.3%.  From Apr. 2016 to the present, there were 14K sessions with an average duration of 1:40, and 4.1 page views, with a bounce rate of 29.4%.  The site has not change substantially.   I am not sophisticated at interpreting Google Analytics data, but it seems that a sudden decline in session duration suggests that visitors are less interested.  However, that doesn't seem to match the steadiness of page views per session, and relatively low bounce rate.  I'm not interested in overhauling the website, but I'd appreciate some insight about how to interpret the data.

Hey Folks,

First time poster here...  I need to make a change to my google analytics code on my wordpress site, but cannot figure out how it was inserted.  I've checked header.php, within the child theme, etc.

Is there a way with something like firebug lite i can find the source file that inserted the code (i have other javascripts where i want to find out the how and where of how they were inserted into the page code).

In essence, I'd like to be able to trace objects in the source code to where they came from, how they were inserted, etc.

Many thanks!!

I'm trying to explore the capabilities of Google Analytics.

I'm aware that Google Analytics do provides the Average Page View per Session, but can Google Analytics knows how long a user viewing a specified page per session? If yes, how do I know that?

Thank you.

I need some guidance on these issues.

How can Google Analytics tracks download count?

Will it be automatically tracked or do I need to use some tag manager to do that?

What if the download was done via Javascript? Can it still be tracked? If yes how can we do that?

Thank you.

I want to generate a report that I can look at monthly that shows how many conversions were generated from a specific landing page.

I only want the report to have conversions from that one specific landing page, no others. I don't want to have to week through other conversions. This landing page shares a quote form with many others, so it can't go by the thank-you page; it will have to go by the reverse URL, or however that works.

Google Analytics reports are so confusing with metrics and dimensions, but this is a very simple report and has to be possible.

Hi, I have a couple of questions.

1. I am using wordpress 4.7.2 with the DIVI theme. I've added analytics code as they suggest.
Capture.JPG
but I don't see the code when I view source at dev.techgardens.com. Of course, the code is for www., not dev, but I should see it, right?

2. The customer created dev.techgardens.com on his godaddy account. Now they want it live. What are the steps to do that? Currently he's just redirecting dev dot to www dot, but that won't work for SEO or, presumably, google analytics.

Thanks!

For example,
in Google analytics you can find a search term from a form like this
/stock-listing/?car_status=used&manufacturer=horizon&body_type=campervan&dealer_location=adventurer&transmission=automatic&reg_number=&search_nonce=6d6ba462e7&_wp_http_referer=/stock-listing/?car_status=used&manufacturer=horizon&body_type=campervan&dealer_location=adventurer&transmission=manual&reg_number=&search_nonce=6d6ba462e7&_wp_http_referer=/motorhomes/

So a programmer can read that the search terms are in there, like "campervan" was searched as well as "automatic" etc etc.

So my question is, does anyone know a nice easy way to break this into a readable format for someone not well versed in post strings???
I just want to convert the search terms into a readable format?  Does anyone know how?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an accurate analytics package? Google does not seem to be accurate and I've read numerous articles confirming the same.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Google Analytics Speed Suggestions continues to give me this error--Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content.

It really seems to affect my Mobile page scores (60-75) but also somewhat for Desktop (70-90).  I've looked for the scripts and CSS Google identifies, but they appear to be part of the Theme.  It concerns me to keep experimenting for fear of messing it all up..

So #1- Are these scores and scripts worth trying to address?
And #2 - How can they be changed?  I've tried moving what I could to load later, but no luck.

Our site is https://CQCash.com
Thanks,

Hello;

I have made redirect 301 for my Redundant Hostnames in .htaccess file as below:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^127\.127\.127\.127 [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

but google analytic send me notification that:

Property http://www.mydomain.com is receiving data from redundant hostnames. Some of the redundant hostnames are:
mydomain.com
www.mydomain.com

Please let me know that what is the problem and how can fix it?

Thanks

I have just received notification that there was an update to my disavow file to a site we manage.
We have been using Yoast to update pages and get it up in SEO ranks etc, so could this have caused this error message to occur?
Its only referring to 0 files and 2 domains.

How could this have happened?
Is it a bad thing?
Can anyone shed light on this regarding Yoast and if its responsible for this.
Or is it simply that we are working on the SEO and hitting the site a lot at the moment?
Thanks

I have about 100 pages in a site, and 13 were "Indexed" by Google, according to Search Console.  I cannot figure out how to drill down and identify the reason for any 1 page.   Does Search Console or anything else identify the reason why any 1 page was not indexed?
Before submitting the sitemap, I ran Screaming Frog and cleaned up all tags, fixed the canonical issues, etc. According to Screaming From and a couple of other SEO Utils I have, the code itself is clean & correct in terms of SEO.

I had this question after viewing Can you find out what people are searching for in search forms built into wordpress themes?.

I am wondering now, how can you check what people are searching for using googles analytics.  It appears you can set up a site search, but will this work with an internal widget that is part of a theme?
Is there any way to use GA to find out what Vehicles' people are searching for?  For example on this page http://ballinacampers.com.au/campervans/
There is a search as part of the theme, but I dont 'know if GA will search this.  Do I have to set up a page of just a vehicle search using google?

Can anyone help with a solution to track the search?

Hi- I have a report in Obiee 11g which has two queries in union.

Query 1: Region, Month, Amount
Query 2: Region,'ytd'(Hard coded in edit formula section of the column),Amount---this is done to get total amount for the year

the results from these two queries are pivoted. So my report layout is like below

Region,Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,Jun,July,Aug,Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec,YTD

Region in rows, Month is in Columns and Amount is in measures.
Now, I have an action link for the amount. So when user clink on the amount it takes them to detail report which gives information about all the accounts for region by month. My drill down report is working fine for all the months except for YTD. Since month and region is prompted it is looking for Month='YTD' in drilldown report soo it is not giving me any results. YTD is an hardcoded value in my union report. This values is not present in the table.

Can someone help me with this.

Thanks

I wanted to inquire if anyone knows how PageViews get track with Google Analytics (web log, etc.).
I have a website that has login capability but based on the PageView counts, it appears that all visitors are tracked, not just logins.  Thanks for any info.

Hello experts!

I currently know a lot about databases, but haven't quite made it past the threshold into BI design.  I am looking for good materials that can take you step by step through taking a transactional DB design and then creating the OLTP Dim and fact tables.  I have access to MSsQL from 2008 to 2016, Lynda.com and any book on amazon.  I was turned down for the class by work.  I have googled, and am not sure what are the good resources, that I can afford.  So, I thought I would ask you about what the best resources were.  Video works best for me, but I can read as well.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated.  Please keep the topic about MS SQL.

Fox - trying to become undumb about BI only, lol

Hi, Quite often over the years, on blog.magickitchen.com, I've linked to a product on our site, magickitchen.com. When I go through crawl errors on webmaster tools, I see 374 not found links. Most of those, probably something like 2500-3000 links, come from our blog. The products they referred to have been discontinued.

Here's an example.
http://www.magickitchen.com/menu/main_courses/beef-bordelaise.html
Linked from:
        http://blog.magickitchen.com/2010/07/

      http://magickitchen.com/menu/main_courses.html
      http://www.magickitchen.com/retirement-food-gifts.html

In this list, blogtest.mymagickitchen.com is no longer even live. The last three are incorrect, they no longer are listed there, so I can fix those. But 4 of them are from our blog. I don't want to sound lazy, but it will take hours and days to go through each blog post and fix or remove those links.

The developer on our site doesn't want me to use 301s for all of them, which is fair enough, as it would be some 426 redirects.

I did read this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/Hak1KbPUSrI

And it seems to say that I should go through and …
