Support the build.gradle configured with compileSdkVersion 25. Should the dependencies be run in same version, ie 'com.android.support:appcompat-v7:25.4.0'  ?

In resource\XML, there is 28 - 25 to choose from. Does it mean the android apps will be test to run under api 25 - 28 ?

Can I say my Android app will be compiled in v25 and will be tested in platform 25 - 28 ?

Thx

I am new to Samsung phones. I have a new S8 (running Android Oreo) and I want to be sure my notes can be restored if needed.

When I go to Setting > Cloud and Accounts > Samsung Cloud it shows Samsung Notes have synced but if I go to Notes > Settings > Import Data > (and select from google drive or Samsung account) I get the message: "No Memo data in Samsung account"

I don't have many notes yet so I can delete them and restore them to test it but how do I access the data to restore it? When I go to import data why does it say No Memo data?

Thanks,
PR

I have a set of points and if I draw them on a paper, I have a diagram like the image in attached file.
I want to find any almost horizontal curve/line in the scattered points, something like another image in the attached files, the image with red diagram.
the result will be like below image:

In fact what I want as output is an array of points that are on the line/curve, or the equation which gives me the y component of the point if I set the x value.

I searched for a Java/Android library or code that does the job but didn't find any. I would appreciate if you let me know about the exact mathematical process or any Java/Android library or class that does the job.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Beautiful people of Experts-Exchange,

I have an app built on ruby on rails running on a Linode server. The app has iOS and android versions available as code in Bitbucket for source control.

The app uses cloud hosting on cloudspace.com and rackspace.com.

When I send text from one end to another for 2 registered users; it gets delivered. But when I send pictures; there is an image failure with only placeholder shown in receiver.

Log shows

OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError (SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed):
  app/controllers/api/v1/users_controller.rb:16:in `auth_cloud'

The bucket has a users_controller.rb which (on branch 'auth_cloud') in api_server/app/controllers/api/v1 that looks like -

Hi,

We are searching for a touchscreen display/ TV to have in our conference room.

Ideally the size we are looking for is about 55 inches.

It will be useful for us but we are aware it comes at a high cost.

What is the cheapest 55 inch Touchscreen available?

Thanks,
Robbie

Hi everyone. I have an Android 7 device. It's not rooted. I need a file manager/utility that allows me to view the files & folders of the root directory; specifically the System and Data partitions. I don't need 'Write' permissions, just Read-Only. I want to copy some files. In other words, I don't want to root the device. I just need read-only access. I would prefer a file manager type app but I'm open to other methods.

I have tried Solid Explorer. It shows the System Partition but not the Data partition. Thanks.

Hello,

Have had an Exchange 2010 setup for years.  Have had clients connected to it just as long.

All of the sudden, users are not able to receive mail from within Outlook.  We receive the error:

Cannot expand the folder.  The set of folders cannot be open.  You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost).

I can successfully connect to the account(s) using my Android phone.  I can access the accounts via OWA.

Per some research I did online, I created a new profile and connected to the account, but could not access anything.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Don

I am new to Xamarin and MvvmCross learning with an online tutorial, https://visualstudiomagazine.com/Articles/2018/05/08/Build-a-Xamarin.Forms-Application.aspx which comes with a github code sample at https://github.com/nickrandolph/VisualStudioMagazineMobileCorner

This is clearly a simple application with just a few lines of code, but I ran into a namespace error that prevents the code from compiling. I also tried a different tutorial, the tipcalc tutorial provided by MvvmCross at https://www.mvvmcross.com/documentation/tutorials/tipcalc/the-tip-calc-tutorial but got the exact same namespace error.

Hoping someone can help identify what I am doing wrong. I have used the nuget packages for MvvmCross 6.1.2 and  MvvmCross.Forms 6.1.2 together with Visual Studio 2017 15.7.2. I also installed the Android 8.1 Oreo (SDK Platform 27) since both tutorials mention Android 8.1. No luck getting rid of the namespace issue.

The compilation error is in two parts:
(1) Missing Namespace: "The type or namespace name 'Platforms' does not exist in the namespace 'MvvmCross.Forms' (are you missing an assembly reference?)" on the using statement, "using MvvmCross.Forms.Platforms.Android.Views;"
(2)Missing class:  "The Type or Namespace Name MvxFormsAppCompatActivity Could Not be Found"

Both errors are in ...\XFwMvx.Android\MainActivity.cs

Hi,

We have an Amazon Fire 7 tablet.

The plan is to use the Fire 7 tablet as a device to display information.

The problem is that when the tablet goes to sleep or runs out of power, the next time the tablet is turned on or woken up, the lock screen appears.

I would like to configure, with the use of an automation app, a function that will activate when the Fire 7 tablet displays its lock screen and automatically unlock by way of a swipe up action on the screen.

Is there an automation app that can do this, mainly a free app.

Thanks,
Robbie

Xamarin question:
I must be missing something simple and cannot seem to find the right words to get a Google response that is relevant.
I have been working on my Android app in an emulator and a device that is connected via cable.  When I disconnect the device from the computer, the program fails to function.
How do I push the app from Visual Studio, to a device and have it work without being connected via cable?
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
