MAC computer (macOS 10.14 Mojave) is able to successfully connect to corporate network via Anyconnect mobile vpn client. But when attempting to map a shared network drive to a windows server share it hangs and finally times out after 2 minutes or so and wont map the drive. Yet there are 6 other MAC's with macOS 10.14 Mojave that do not have this problem.

Tried pinging the windows server from the MAC after successfully connected to the VPN and it will continuously times out but there is a reply to ping every 15th ping request for about 2 pings and then go back to not responding to ping for another 15 pings.

When pinging MAC from the windows server it will ping successfully continuously!

I already plan on performing apple diagnostic on the MAC next but I am not too familiar with Macs and want to see if there are any other suggestions from the community!

Appreciate any other ideas....

MacBook Pro A1398 EMC 2674 does not display video after LCD replacement.

I am pretty sure I followed everything correctly, but yet here I am.  The new (used) screen I got for this model (SN: C02MT1KJFD58) for this MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013? model is part number 661-8310.  I don't know where to find that part number on the original screen.  Anyways, the old screen was busted, but would still light up.  Now that I have attempted to put on the new screen, I can see the screen momentarily flash (as if it is on with no backlight), but nothing displays that I can ACTUALLY see with a  flashlight.  Also, the HDMI connection displays nothing and the unit seems to power itself down after a bit.  Also, if you plug the magsafe in, it automatically turns on.  Is that normal?  I have tried hooking the old screen back up to it, but I also get no display.  HOWEVER, we attempted to remove JUST the glass from the old screen, so we may have damaged it. :(  Suggestions on how to get the new screen to work?

I have a MACBook Pro latest OS. I have been working making screenshots for a manual using Snagit. A screen capture tool. If I try to resize the image I am working with. The second I LEFT MOUSE CLICK on the RESIZE box and try to resize with the mouse. It switches screens to the Apple Desktop...? What is happening? I went to System Pref and searched Google. The search turned up this.

"How do I stop my Mac from switching screens?
Click Apple menu from top left of your screen > Select System Preferences > in Personal Tab select Expose & Spaces > Deselect the check box that says Enable Spaces."

Only one problem I see no "Personal Tab" or "Expose Spaces" anywhere in System Preferences?

Any thoughts. I am about to throw my laptop across the room.

User's USB external drive does not automatically mount when connected to a MacBook Pro
When I run Disk Utility, I am able to get the drive to mount after I run disk repair, and then automatically mount.
Disk Utility shows that the drive is in the unmounted state after being connected to the MacBook Pro

What could be preventing the mounting?
Is a Mac OS upgrade required?
Is the drive damaged?
Are the Mac's USB ports a problem?

User has a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.11.6
MacBook Pro Retina 2.2GHz Intel i7  - Mid 2014
16 GB RAM

Backup drive is Seagate Ultra Slim PL Media
1 TB, USB connection
Partition Map is Master Boot Record

Time Machine accepted this MBR drive as a backup drive
Would MBR partition keep the drive from being mounted?

If I have a windows app, how can I run it on a MACBOOK?.
I heard there's a product you can buy that allows you to turn a portion of your MAC hard drive into a Windows PC?  And then load windows apps onto it.

Hi,
A client of mine has just bought the latest 13 inch Macbook Pro and would like me to move his files
from a much older Macbook. I don't want to do it wirelessly so I thought I would buy an adapter to
hardwire connect his 2 machines and do it that way or remove his old HDD and connect it externally.
His old Macbook has a regular USB port and his new Macbook is cofigured as follows:
Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for:
Charging
DisplayPort
Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps)
USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)
It is not clear to me whether or not the new Mac's USB-C ports are able to transmit receive data, via an adapter, from the
old Mac's HDD. Can they?
If not how do you migrate data from an old Macbook to a new Macbook Pro.
Thanks

I had iOS 10 and certain apps from App Store asked me for at least iOS 11. So I made an update these days over WiFi to iOS 12. My iPad was not subject of jailbreak. It is iPad Air first generation with cellular model A1475.
After update to iOS 12 it did not charge anymore while the iPad/iOS was started/on. It was charging only when was turned off.
I decided to repair/update/restore the iOS using PC with Windows 8.1, iTunes latest version and USB cable. It downloaded the iOS 12 latest version on PC, the process started and somewhere at 20% of the process everything stopped with an error 14 as seen below. I repeated the process several times, changed the PC and the cable and I am stuck there. I have tried then all kind of 3rd party software to revive it (for example 3utools) and the Restore process is blocked always at about 20%. I tried again iTunes, but the same bad result. I have read couple of days on internet different pages with suggestions, methods and I think I have tried everything what I have read. Now I am out of ideas and I refuse to believe is a hardware problem
I do not have a backup in PC neither in the cloud and I do not care if the data on it is lost. I just want to have the iPad with a workable iOS, even if it is downgraded to previous versions.
Any suggestions how to revive is appreciated, even if I have to erase everything and re-flash from scratch with any previous iOS.

Itunes error 143utools errorRestore stops at about 20%

Do you find that it is helpful/pruduent to reload MacOSX "every once in a while" similar to how Windows users to so with their PCs.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2015 running 10.14.2 and it used responsive and never freeze for a few seconds or be slow to start up.  I've done all the optimization/clean up/memory elimination/et cetera I could to do it and it just doesn't feel "as good" as it is did originally.  However, I do use it daily (all day basically) for work.

Would a reload help or is the hardware just wearing out?

(I know there is one way to find out but I just wanted to get some opinion before I go to the trouble of doing a complete reload!)

User would like to become a 'cable cutter'
They have some 'smart TVs' (I dislike the interface these have) and 2 Apple TV (If they are not recent, they will replace)

Big requirement - Watching all the major sports events.

Are there paid apps/services for the Apple TV that will allow live sports?

Thanks.

I just recently purchased a new 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display (3.6GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz). The mouse on this computer stutters and briefly freezes? it doesn't matter what mouse. I've used the Magic Mouse 2 that came with it. I've used older Apple mice and even a wired mouse. Any ideas why a high-end computer would be doing this? it has the latest OS.

I am in need of finding a medical alert device for an older married couple. They are both owners of Apple phones, but they are both concerned about the stigma and cosmetic challenges of wearing one. I would like to explore whatever alterntives exist today for both of them.

Getting SSD specs from my MacBook (High Sierra)

I will replace the disk, get it wiped, then sell it on eBay. Before I do, I need to know the specs and the maker of the SSD.

How?

Thanks.

hello everyone I have a user that's running Mac OS Mojave the user deleted a folder by accident and then empty the trash can. I am very familiar with NTFS and fat partitions running Drive recovery software to recover things that were deleted in the trash can but I've never had this issue with a Mac any suggestions? also, they were running iCloud backup but because they remove the folder and threw it away it removed it from the iCloud.

I am thinking of taking out the drive and connected it to another mac using my USB to serial cable but I do recall in the past that I used a thunderbolt to USB to connect a hard drive of a non-booting mac to another mac to access the drive, I am wondering would this work instead of removing the drive?

Two physical SSD drives and one Time Machine backup

I am about to upgrade my MacBook, which has a single 500 GB SSD, and I need more space ASAP. I bought that drive in 2013.

I would love to get a new, fast 1T SSD, but don't have the cash, and am considering using the CD drive on my MacBook for a second 500 GB SSD.

But how does this work with Time Machine?

I love to be able to plug in an external backup drive and know that when that external drive is unmounted, it contains all the latest files.

What about if I had two physical drives?

How does Time Machine solve this new wrinkle?

Hello, I have this incredibly weird problem on an old iMac. The customer doesn't remember, but it must be at least 9 years old.
Anyway, this is what happens: when I get to the login page, any mouse doesn't left click. Not the official mouse, not a mouse with cord, none of them. The pointer moves but I can't left click anywhere.
So I made a backup and tried reinstalling MacOS: well, mouses won't left click during the install procedure either. The keyboard works, but no mouse will left click.

I sincerely don't know what may be the problem here, so I decided to ask here and see if anyone had a similar problem.

Thanks.
