All of Apple's hardware is produced solely by Apple Inc., who determines internal systems, designs, and prices. Apple buys certain components wholesale from third-party manufacturers. The current Mac product family uses Intel x86-64 processors. All Mac models ship with at least 1 GB RAM as standard. Current Mac computers use ATI Radeon or nVidia GeForce graphics cards and include a dual-function DVD and CD burner, called the SuperDrive. Current Apple hardware includes the iPad, iPhone, iMac, Mac Pro, Macbook, iPod and Apple TV. Discontinued hardware includes the Apple I, Apple II, and the Apple III, the Lisa, the Newton, the Quadra, Performa, Centris, Macintosh II and LC series, the Power Macintosh, iBooks and the MacBook.

A customer of mine imported several audio books into iTunes.

Each audio book chapter is saved as an MP3 file.

The problem is that the same audio books were imported several times.

How can I remove the duplicate iTunes audio book files from  iTunes, the user's iPhone X, & authorized computers?

I need to make sure that only the duplicate files are removed and nothing else.

How can this be done?

I rented a movie on itunes and I am trying to transfer it to my ipod classic 6th generation.  The movie says it is HD.  When I try to move it to my ipod it looks like it will transfer and then it moves back to the other column and is not tranferred.  I assume this is because my generation ipod cannot download it.  When I go to itunes on this movie it does show some details of size that shows an sd version that is smaller in size than the hd one.  I can't seem to find this on the itunes page for the movie.  I also see in my purchased area of itunes that you can uncheck the box that says download hd movies if available.  So here is the question, if I delete the movie (not just try to redownload) will I be able to download it again?  Will it show that I purchased it or is it gone?  I want to do this to try and start from scratch and uncheck the box that says download hd movies if avaialble.    Maybe this is not the answer, any ideas?

I have two connect two LG UD 3289-W monitors, I want to connect both to my MacPro computer.
It does not have UDB-C connection and only one HDMI connection.

I connected one via HDMI and works fine. I tried to use a mini to HDMI connector and plugged it into the thunderbolt port but that did not work. I don't know how to daisychain them since they don't seem to have an output.

Any ideas?

I am not sure where to look to find what this disk contains and why it's almost full.

See attached error...

Mac Startup Disk is Almost Full
I have a 500GB SSD and have worried for months it was almost maxed out.

How can I find what files can be deleted for this startup disk not to max out?

I had created metadata tags for all of my photos before I had them imported into photos for the Mac. I would like to auto create albums based on the tags in the photos.

I know I can do this with SmartAlbums, but those don’t transfer to mobile or other Macs so I need real albums.

I was thinking with AppleScript I could do something but not proficient there.  Maybe created the Smart Albums from the tags then create albums from all the smart albums?

User has a very recent MacBook Pro with 4 USB/Thunderbolt 3 ports.
They will be switching the monitor between a 2.5 year old iMac with Mini Display port and the above MacBook Pro.

They need a monitor that will work with a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter when they attach it to the MacBook Pro, and directly to Thunderbolt 2 when they plug the monitor into the iMac.

Can someone recommend a monitor that is known to work with adapters?

Thanks

I have a 64 GB iphone 6S - a little over 2 years old now?  It says it has 37GB available. I've deleted apps, pictures, etc that I am not using.

Am I expecting too much for better performance? I notice sometimes when I delete an app - it takes somethign like 5 seconds after clicking x for it to go away. Other times, it goes away right away.

Opening contacts (which is linked to o365 and i have 8000 contacts) or mail or other thigns... I'll get a white screen for a couple / few seconds as the app opens up.

I make a point to close apps that are in the background.  I have background update turned off. I've hard reset (hold home and power button for a few seconds till you get the white screen), etc.

Browsing in safari takes a few seconds for pages to load, etc...  am I expecting too much? are things that much better with iphone 8 or x? My kids have the same phone and want to upgrade.

I do get through the day on a single charge sometimes (so battery is good /fair).  it's more processing power.  Which I read is something that apple (sometimes / always?) slows down on older phones?

Is there a way to tell where the bottlenecks are?

thanks!

I recently found a bunch of my cds of music I've gathered over a couple decades.  I have imported them all into my Macbook's iTunes.  I looked for a short time to see if iTunes can do what I want, but it seems like the files have to be physically on the devices to do this.  Or I have to turn on Home Sharing.  Meh.  Not really a solution I'm looking for.  I didn't see an option to put them in the cloud and then stream to my devices?  Did I miss that?

Ideally, I would like to put the files in the cloud and then access those songs from my devices.  Essentially, I'm asking for a way to stream my music, right?  I'm new to Plex and imagine that can do what I want it to if I install the Plex client on all my devices and buy Plex Pass, but wanted to know if there is another option I should look into?
What have you used and recommend?

(If you've experience with Plex Pass please share your experience!)

I have a Macbook, iPhone, Apple TV, Roku and iPad.

Thank you for looking.

I have a 2011 iMac.  Two days ago it would not turn on...have checked the power outlet and it is working.
I suspect the problem is not in the cable to the power bar.  This machine was a lot of money and was working
well 3 days ago.  Do you think it is the power supply or could it be worse and be the motherboard?
My question is related to a major concern...I do not want to be raked over the coals by some apple service centre
to run their diagnostics and levy a very large cost in $.  What are the chances that it is the power supply?  If it
is just the power supply I am prepared to pay the $ for the power supply but if they try to take me around the bend I will dispose of this computer.  What is your advice?
thanks,

I have my friends iMac in which he needs a new drive. He got a WD Blue 1TB HD to install. I am trying to help him with it, but the first problem has popped up. Mac uses a temperature sensor on its HD's & I don't know where to plug it into the WD Blue. There is an 8-pin connector next to the SATA , but which of the 4-pin combos do i plug it into?

Any suggestions or help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The user, a professional art photographer,  wants to get an iMac Pro.

They have a large Lightroom catalog of photos that they work on - over 150,000 photos.  They do all their adjustments in Lightroom
, and don't use Photoshop (although they may want to in the future)  Lightroom needs to display several hundred previews that can be scrolled at a time, and they would like the previews to scroll quickly.

So - although they are looking for fast display of multiple images, they are not doing any video editing, 3D rendering, or VR.

They already have a 2.5 year old iMac with i7, 16 GB of RAM, and the video circuitry with (I don't recall) maybe 2 GB of VRAM

I was going to recommend an iMac Pro bumped to 64GB RAM, and the Radeon Pro Vega with 64 of VRAM.

I am not sure if increasing the configuration to 10-core Zeon will make a significant difference with Lightroom or Photoshop in the future.

Any advice on the most satisfying configuration for the iMac Pro?

Thanks.

A friend of mine traveling in Mexico recently experienced what looked like an overture to
repair/remove the Zeus trojan on her macbook air.  I have a relatively new macbookpro laptop.
Do I need to purchase and install antivirus software on this machine and if so which product
would be worthwhile?
thanks,

The "Contacts" icon is missing on a new iPhone X.

Currently the user has to search for "Contacts" since the contacts icon isn't displayed anywhere on the iPhone X screen.

What needs to be done so that the "Contacts" icon will display on the iPhone X screen?
