Apple's early computers ran on a variety of operating systems, including a Pascal version and one based on CP/M, before releasing its ProDOS with the advent of its 16-bit computer. With the release of the Lisa, which had its own OS, Apple and computing entered the graphical age; it was followed by the Macintosh, which offered a series of "System" operating systems. Other Mac operating systems included PowerPC until Apple acquired NeXT and folded it into the Mac OS. Current operating systems for Apple devices are Mac OS-X and iOS.

Referring to above link, does it mean iOS prior to Ver 10.2.1 is not affected or versions after 10.2.1 is affected?

Last query:
does Apple releases vulnerabilities quarterly, 6-monthly or yearly & where can we find this information?

How can I run complete and thorough hardware diagnostics on a Mac OS X Sierra v. 10.12.6 laptop?

I would like to check and be sure that all hardware is running properly.

A user says that his Mac OS X Sierra v. 10.12.6 laptop experiences random issues such as apps not working correctly and software having random glitches.

This user is unable to describe any other specific problems with his Mac or give any more specific details.

His Mac is running Mac Office 2016 and has all of the latest Mac and Office updates installed.

I have already run a file system check and have run Malwarebytes scans and no problems have been detected.

What else can be done to help tune up and fix this Mac?

I bought the MakeMKV .. which worked on all Blu Ray discs except for a 6 Chapter BluRay disc (This one happens to be Planet Earth documentary by BBC). MakeMKV produces an MKV file with just the first Chapter. Have tried <almost> everything. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi All Expert,

Good Day.

I am currently having issues regarding my Macbook Pro hard disk. It keeps prompting me that the hard disk is full when there’s pretty much empty when i first turn on my macbook. It usually starts prompting after 2-3hours of usage.

We did a hardware test and shows that there aren’t any issue with the macbook. I did tried calling into apple help desk and they asked me to delete a couple of items and did a ram reboot but none of those actually help in a long run. The disk full is usually due to system files and nothing related to my personal files.

The macbook is less than a year old, it jams sometimes when it comes to full hard disk.

My files are just 50GB and my harddisk is 250gb.

It will be great if you could be of some help on this issue. Much appreciated.

Thanks!

Anyone know the SMTP authentication for San.RR.com?   I'm also not well versed in Apple Mail client so I may be doing something wrong.  I referenced below but I don't see SMTP authentication... My options are External, Kerberos, NTLM, MD5, and Password.  Also, do I need need a IMAP path prefix ?

Good Morning,

We have a user in our office who is requesting to have a feature to automatically forward all the voicemails coming in to his email on an iPhone. Does anyone know if this is possible somehow ?

I know on visual voicemail there is an option to manually forward each voicemail to email but he wants it all going automatically offcourse. I called the provider - Bell but the agent had no idea.

If anyone know of any app or any way to automate this let us know :)

Thank you very much!

Experienced PC guy - first time messing with a Mac and doing it for a friend.

HDD is completely dead.   I'm going to replace the drive - but I'm unclear as to how I go about reinstalling the OS.  I don't even know what version was on the computer before it died.  How does Apple tie your OS purchase to you and your equipment?

Currently when this user types in the first few letters of an email address or a person's name within Mac Outlook 2016 there are no suggested email addresses that display.

So what methods can be used to regenerate this user's Mac Outlook 2016 email address auto complete list?

I will be doing a Gmail to Office 365 migration for an organization that has several Macs that contain lots of contacts.

Some of these contacts are only saved on the local Mac.

We need to be sure that these contacts are moved into Office 365 as part of the migration and that no contacts are left on these local Macs.

How can this be done?
