I have a MACBook Pro latest OS. I have been working making screenshots for a manual using Snagit. A screen capture tool. If I try to resize the image I am working with. The second I LEFT MOUSE CLICK on the RESIZE box and try to resize with the mouse. It switches screens to the Apple Desktop...? What is happening? I went to System Pref and searched Google. The search turned up this.

"How do I stop my Mac from switching screens?
Click Apple menu from top left of your screen > Select System Preferences > in Personal Tab select Expose & Spaces > Deselect the check box that says Enable Spaces."

Only one problem I see no "Personal Tab" or "Expose Spaces" anywhere in System Preferences?

Any thoughts. I am about to throw my laptop across the room.

My system administrator wants me to wipe an imac to make sure no malware is on it.  If I boot to internet, will it effectively wipe/reformat the HD and re-install the OS?

Hi

We are a school and we started buying iPads for the staff. I have created a school iCloud account.

Please let me know if there will be a way of adding new iPad to the school cloud account and once the iPad is given to staff they must be able to install apps by their own.

But when they leave the organisation , they should return the iPad , but able to carry the paid apps and install on their iPads they wish.

Please let me know a best way of setting up this.

Any help will be great and thanks in advance.
Thanks

MacOS.Mojave.Finder is not searching for enough files and folders, any longer.

I am not sure what has changed, but I did install Mojave. I can not recall if this started to fail before the upgrade.

When I type a key phrase into Finder, I no longer get folder names containing the search text. I NEED that feature of Finder to work, since I truly have no idea of my folder structure, since it is very convoluted.

Where can I look to reset any setting I may have accidentally set? Or setting that may be the defaults that came along with the upgrade to Mojave?

Thanks.

Hi,
A client of mine has just bought the latest 13 inch Macbook Pro and would like me to move his files
from a much older Macbook. I don't want to do it wirelessly so I thought I would buy an adapter to
hardwire connect his 2 machines and do it that way or remove his old HDD and connect it externally.
His old Macbook has a regular USB port and his new Macbook is cofigured as follows:
Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for:
Charging
DisplayPort
Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps)
USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)
It is not clear to me whether or not the new Mac's USB-C ports are able to transmit receive data, via an adapter, from the
old Mac's HDD. Can they?
If not how do you migrate data from an old Macbook to a new Macbook Pro.
Thanks

Hi

I use Twitter, Telegram & RSS feeds to follow new security treats. I also have many groups and users I follow in LinkedIn.

The problem and question:
Each time I start the LinkedIn app all contributions are unsorted. As an example, I have posts that came 1h before, then 6 days ago and the last 2h ago. Why is this so? With Twitter, Telegram, RSS feeds all are sorted as they were posted. The other annoying thing is that when I click the home button it jumps to the uppermost post. Then I must go down to the last post I red. If I still remember it ... :-)

How are you following LinkedIn contributions? Do you use another app?

Thanks for helping me

Do you find that it is helpful/pruduent to reload MacOSX "every once in a while" similar to how Windows users to so with their PCs.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2015 running 10.14.2 and it used responsive and never freeze for a few seconds or be slow to start up.  I've done all the optimization/clean up/memory elimination/et cetera I could to do it and it just doesn't feel "as good" as it is did originally.  However, I do use it daily (all day basically) for work.

Would a reload help or is the hardware just wearing out?

(I know there is one way to find out but I just wanted to get some opinion before I go to the trouble of doing a complete reload!)

Hi guys

A lot of our Macs that connect to the server Windows 2012 which hosts their files, have issues from time to time. The problem mainly is the locking of files. So one person will go in there and try to save a file and they'll be told their file is locked when nobody is actually using it or doing anything. Windows PC's have this issue from time to time to, but Macs seem to be the biggest culprit.

Have any of you used products like Acronis Files Connect? Or does anybody have a solution? I would have said I'd build a Mac server but that's not possible either as that would mean a separate server for Macs and a separate one for Windows machines when they all need to collaborate.

Thanks for helping

How delete an app that is locked?

I no longer use CrashPlan, but can not delete it, since it's locked. (Mac)

CrashPlan Locked
I can not log in since the account is gone.

I do seem to be able to access CrashPlan Service Preferences, but doubt they would do anything since there is no connection to the host.

Suggestions?

MacBook Pro Model A1707 Intel i7 2.6GHz, 15 Inch, 2016, 16GB RAM  & Intel HD 530 graphics boot but cannot connect to any network (only wireless is an option) and so "crashes" with "a critical update must be installed but cannot connect to network" so all I get it the option to try again or shutdown. So I have a few questions please
1. Is there an option to connect to a cabled network (I do not see any RJ45 connectors on this laptop)
2. I believe the SSD on this laptop is on-board so is there a way to get any user data off this drive if it won't boot in IOS
3. Any other suggestions to get it working again without risking overwriting existing user data.
Thank you.

hello everyone I have a user that's running Mac OS Mojave the user deleted a folder by accident and then empty the trash can. I am very familiar with NTFS and fat partitions running Drive recovery software to recover things that were deleted in the trash can but I've never had this issue with a Mac any suggestions? also, they were running iCloud backup but because they remove the folder and threw it away it removed it from the iCloud.

I am thinking of taking out the drive and connected it to another mac using my USB to serial cable but I do recall in the past that I used a thunderbolt to USB to connect a hard drive of a non-booting mac to another mac to access the drive, I am wondering would this work instead of removing the drive?

I have a mac book pro that since Thursday, all of a sudden, it disconnects from the LAN.  The wifi works fine.
I replaced the network cable and the 5 port switch that it was plugged into. I have also tried a different computer with the same cable, and
it didn't disconnect with a different computer.   Since a different computer works fine with the same network cable, I'm thinking there's an issue with the MAC.

I don't use MACs much, so suggestions I can try to isolate the issue?

I'm currently using DHCP with windows servers.  I have about another 9 or 10 MACs on the network, and no one else reported any issues just yet.

Thanks. D

Is there a way to setup a specific folder to backup to iCloud instead of the entire Desktop?

I have a bunch of files I want to place in a folder on my desktop, but I don't want it to backup to iCloud.  I have another folder that I like having the files backup to iCloud.  Can this be separated?

Two physical SSD drives and one Time Machine backup

I am about to upgrade my MacBook, which has a single 500 GB SSD, and I need more space ASAP. I bought that drive in 2013.

I would love to get a new, fast 1T SSD, but don't have the cash, and am considering using the CD drive on my MacBook for a second 500 GB SSD.

But how does this work with Time Machine?

I love to be able to plug in an external backup drive and know that when that external drive is unmounted, it contains all the latest files.

What about if I had two physical drives?

How does Time Machine solve this new wrinkle?
