Apple's early computers ran on a variety of operating systems, including a Pascal version and one based on CP/M, before releasing its ProDOS with the advent of its 16-bit computer. With the release of the Lisa, which had its own OS, Apple and computing entered the graphical age; it was followed by the Macintosh, which offered a series of "System" operating systems. Other Mac operating systems included PowerPC until Apple acquired NeXT and folded it into the Mac OS. Current operating systems for Apple devices are Mac OS-X and iOS.

Friend has Apple Mac, trying to install gmail, it's 50% done, stuck.

See attached screen shot. He says circle with 50% not changing.

Suggestions for getting it going?

I have ZERO knowledge of iMac, I work with Windows 10, everything Apple non-intuitive to me.

Thank you

Have iMac more than 5 years old....thick panel with CD drive....
I don;t have much experience with Mac's...

It's been sitting in the closed for a few years.....I pulled it out and realized we do not have the admin account pw....

In Windows....which I support....there are a number of boot up CD's (Linux etc) that will boot and allow you to
change any and all passwords....usually change them to "no password"....

Is there a similar boot up CD of some type that I can use to eliminate the admin pw and start all over...???

If not possible.....how would I start all over and wipe the HD and re-install IOS from scratch...???

Many thanks...

I am using MAIL version 13.0 on OS X version 10.15.3.
In the past (previous used version)Example of colored Email in the Inbox, I was able to color the back ground of the Email coming in my InBox with different colors.
I can still see the one that was colored in the past, but I could not find a way to color them with this version.

Need to find space used on MacBook and space used by Parallel's/Windows

1) I am about to move my software development to Windows and no longer need my Parallel's/Windows 7 Partition.

I do have 97 GB devotes to that. How do I find the space savings by deleting that partition?

This file:
Windows 7 (1).pvm is 98.38 GB

Will I save that much space be deleting that file?

What if I want to reduce the size to a minimum?

2) Mac Question: How do I find how much space is free on the drive?
Is there about 50GB free?

Free Space
If I delete the Parallel's, will it really free up 97GB?

Hope an expert with experience in th subject help.  I have an Apple Watch series 5.  Previously I used FitBit.  I just noticed that my AW does not register my steps or stairs as accurate as my Fitbit did.  Example I would walk and look at the AW and no change, until it decided when to change the AW meter and the iPhone activity apps.  Yet with with the Fitbit, as I walk or do stairs, it would count as i did my walk/stairs, no siting you would see it live.

So, is this a flaw in Apple Watch or is there a configuration I’m unaware of?

The user has two email accounts, which I'll call   xuser@gmail.com - personal,  and xothername@xcompany.com
The company account is hosted by Google.

Just a few days ago, for unknown reasons, all email from their personal account started being sent from the company account instead.

They called Apple, which tried a few things, and then said it was a Google problem.

I had them delete all their email accounts from their iPhone, power off the iPhone, and then set up their personal account on the iPhone again.
They can receive email sent to their personal account, but sent email is still being sent from the company account.

I didn't yet have them "Reset All Settings" on the iPhone.

What might have caused this, and how might it be corrected?

Thanks.

Need MSPaint for the Mac

I have used PaintBrush many times in the past, since it is so quick and easy. But, it has a crappy bug where it does not save your file upon Save. I am giving up on that junkie program.

What options are there?

Doesn't Apple have one?

PhotoShop is (out of license) and too complex for simple graphics updates...

Thanks.

Hi guys, I just got an early Xmas present, an Apple Watch Series 5.  Started searching of a ‘list of features of apple watch series 5‘ but up to now only videos y semi-list.  I went to apple and same thing, no straight-forward list of features for this watch.

What I am looking for is an actual summary list of features so I can have them and little by little when time affords, go over them in the device.

I have an iMac that is running  Mavericks.   Can I update to something newer, like Mojave.   At one time I was getting messages every once in a while to update to Mojave.   Any ideas?

Hi, I just upgraded to Mac's Mojave OS (version 10.14.6) .. yes, I know (its been out for a long time), but I really didn't need to upgrade and I was putting it off for as long as possible. - In any event, on High Sierra, I had a menu option under the Apple menu called "Location." It allowed me to switch network location on the fly from a menu rather than going into System Preferences > Networks... However in Mojave, there is no such menu item.

How can I add a menu item under the Apple menu which will allow me to select a network to use?

Thank you for your help.

I am looking for an app for either my Android TV (Sony Bravia), or my Apple TV, that can bring in all my internet movie subscriptions into one place.
Preferably one that is safe (user names and password will have to be put in, I am guessing)

I have Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime, etc
Any Ideas??

Thanks
