I have 99 ford expedition 5.4 4wd. Few years ago I have an issue with the transmission cooling lines. They were started leaking. I took it to the shop and they told me that the cheapest way to fix it is to put a rubber hose on it. Since than I never have any issue on those leaks. My question is does it fix the problem permanently or it needs to fix it again in the future?

This is a question about electronics.

I have next bridge board L298N:
L298NFurther info about L298N board is here.

And next DC motor:
DC motorWith next parameters:
DC motor specsFull datasheet is here and its encoder is here.

The LN298N has 2A max. current for one channel.
The DC motor has 550mA rated current, but 2.8A stall current.
I expect during certain high torque moments the current to go up to 2.8A.

Is the LN298N bridge board protected against the over 2A current?
How is the LN298N bridge board protected against the over 2A current?

The application note of the L298 circuit shows next protection against short-circuits:
Short circuit protection
But looking on the L298N board I cannot see that protection. There are only diodes to protect against the back emf from DC motor or step motor coils.

What do you propose to protect/limit the current to 2A for half of the bridge?

I have this simple gaage remote opener with DIP switches.  10 DIP switches inside.

Does anyone know what frequencies these remotes operate?  Or does it really matter when shopping for a new remotes?

Thanks.

I need a door lock for front door, entrance in house, which can be locked/unlocked with keys from both sides, but from inside to have a special feature. I would need to be in such way that the key could never be forgotten inside or if it is forgotten, then to still be able to unlock it from outside.
It is a metal door at my parents’ house and I would like to prevent an unpleasant situation that happened when the key was forgotten inside, the door locked, the doorbell was ringing, but could not be heard or did not work properly...

I bought an OBD2 code reader for the 2005 Honda CRV and it shows P0325. On lookup it's an issue with the "knock sensor". Half the time the engine light comes on and half the time not - which is the reason I picked up the code reader. The car is running just fine. How important is it to replace the knock sensor? Perhaps the problem is just a loose connection to the knock sensor? Other thoughts? I see it's generally about $400 to replace $300 labor and $100 part.

A typical Minivan has a driver memory seat.  There is a motor that moves seat horizontally.  There are other motors, i.e. recliner motor that reclines seat back and forth.

A typical truck has a Pedal Motor on driver memory seat.  What is the need of a Pedal Motor?  What does it move?

We recently purchased an ICP instrument from thermo-fisher.  My question has to do with the Argon gas supply.  We purchased one of the very large Argon dewers, and it it lasted for only two weeks.  I was told this has to do with the venting of the dewer, and that this short life was expected.  Is it better to buy the smaller cylinders that do not vent?
I was also told that they recommend keeping the instrument in stand-by mode, and thus constantly Argon purged for the sake of the internal optics of the instrument.  Any experience out there?  Need to get this resolved quickly.

I have a factory machine with a digital motor on it.  In order to configure it I need to connect via the DB9 Serial interface  that is attached to the drive. The documentation that came with the drive displays the pin assignments in a manner that  I am not familiar with.  I am also not sure how to make up a male usb to male  DB9 cable.

Pin assignments

Pin 1 -        IN 1+
Pin 2-         IN 2+
Pin 3-         OUT 1-, OUT 2-
Pin 4-         OUT 1+
Pin 5-         OUT 2+
Pin 6-         IN 1-
Pin 7-         IN 2-
Pin 8-         OUT 1-, OUT 2-
Pin 9-         OUT 1-, OUT 2-

I would appreciate any advice that I can get.

Thanks

We're going to New York from Sep 1 to Nov 1. Need a minivan for two months.
Budget has a Dodge Grand Caravan is $3900 for the two months. Just wondering if this price is "normal" or am I looking at completely the wrong thing. Maybe there is another system for a 2 month rental, like a lease or something?

I have a 1998 buick regal and the key will not come out of the ignition right away.  I have to keep the key forward and I wait for about 20 seconds and then I hear a click sound and I can take the key out. Sometimes this click does not happen right away.  I had to wait 5 minutes one time and other times it comes out immediatley.  I have sprayed some graphite in the ignition and this made it worse so I have to blow it out with a can of air.  Maybe it has something to do with the anti theft thing.  Any ideas for remedying this?
