A blog is a discussion or informational site consisting of discrete entries ("posts") typically displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs can be the work of a single individual but more recently "multi-author blogs" (MABs) have developed, with posts written by large numbers of authors and professionally edited and "microblogging" systems help integrate blogs into societal newstreams.

I need to add a hex color to the background. the url of the site you see each row has different colors.

so the hex color for each row i need to stretch out the background color if the screen is larger than the website. so example if the first page has blue for one block then orange the next I need it to show along the side of each row. how would you suggest i do this using different hex colors for a background.?

I am building this internal company website and I am trying to get it where when they viewing the website it auto refreshes after say 10 seconds or so. But where the problem is when they are logged in as a Administrator and editing the page it also does the refresh because the only way I know how to use it is the standard <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=pagename.html">. So it makes it almost impossible to do any edits in the Admin portal on a site because it keeps refreshing. Is there any plug-in or code that anyone knows of that will do the redirect when NOT loading the admin/content page?
how can you do the attached concept for a blogspot (google)..

i want to embed the link for a particular website, (as an ad, or people can copy the code and put it on their website?) i would like that feature implemented.

pl see attached of an example i saw on a blogspot website.

kindly see the attached.. that is not a button is it? what is it called? how can you generate it on a blogspot website? is it css or html or something else?

( i just dragged one of the 'buttons' to show the effect'... )

I have a wordpress site and on the menu under admin I have got some added featured in the menu (screenshot attached) I would like to copy them and add them to another wordpress site.

Howe would I do this?
First things first. I built a self hosted wordpress site for a client who is building or renovating, then selling houses. What I envision is using the blogging and categories of wordpress so the client can update buyers and perspective clients on the status of the properties.

Here is the kicker. I would like to have two Main categories, one active and one completed. then any number of sub-categories that would relate to current (active) projects, which would be sub-categories, and then once completed, the user would simply edit the parent category setting for that project and make it a sub-category of the "completed" parent category.

 Here is how the perfect site would be set up, a home page, I have one, one page for Current Projects which would dynamically list sub-categories as links to a filtered view of the blog just showing posts in that sub-cateory, I need help on this. Also a third page for "Completed projects" that would dynamically list only the sub-categories of the archived or completed projects category in the same manner. That way current projects listed as a sub-category to active can just be edited and given a new parent category (archived) and the links would change by themselves on the different pages...

Now that is the page setups, I would like to see a menu setup similarly, but not quite, just have a home page button, a Projects button that if clicked would take you to the current projects page (that lists the sub-categories of the current …

Hello Experts:

I'm getting tired and frustrated.  Facebook changes so much that 90% of the information found on the web is either invalid or outdated.  I need to know if there are any experts out there that recently and successfully set up a web page that drew the posts from a Facebook Business page.  Ideally, I would like to set up the posts with the ability to like, share and  comment on them.  AND I would like to do this without using the Facebook social media plugins so that I have full control of the content and the layout.  I know this is possible, I just don't know how to do it.

Need a website but most importantly a design company that is quality oriented.  Looking for something like the below or better.

Less concerned about price as I am service and quality of work.  Thanks in advance.
Is there a word Press plugin like membership plugin that I can customize the registration page to collect user information besides username and password. like phone number and email address. Also secure pages like membership plugin.
I am about to launch my iPhone app and want to put together a blog I can use to start a discussion on the various uses of my app. I have a WordPress website and would need to choose a format within the limits of WordPress.

What can you suggest as my options?

Any examples you can post for me?

This is a random question, but I need someone to make sense of something for me.  A client of mine wants me to put up a website for him.  I am doing so.  In the meantime, he got thousands of business cards printed up that say "His Name, Publisher".  I don't understand why he calls himself a publisher so I asked out of curiosity.  He answered in a very impolite way, "It's a real thing, look it up."  I looked it up and can't find anywhere where someone uses this title unless they are an actual publisher of printed material, eBooks, or informational content.  In fact, the very few paragraphs he has printed on his website aren't even his words, as his website isn't an informational one, but mainly a dating site.

I would have gone with "His Name, Founder" or "His Name, Owner", but he insists that he is the publisher of the website.  I'm big on terminology, and am probably just splitting hairs, but has anyone come across this and/or could explain it to me?
I have been looking for a WordPress that is user-friendly for non-technical types, and also secure.  I have come VERY close to what i want with the plug-in "Advanced WP File Manager" by RedHawk studio.  It displays files just like a directory on your local drive, and I think that it will be very easy for my members to use.  The ONLY problem that I have is that I want the folders where the files are stored to be secure, so that only approved users/groups can see and download content.

Screenshot of plug-in results
The plug-in mentioned will allow download to anyone who knows the URL and types it in a browser.  the developer says his plug in will not work in the way that I want, so I am turning to the EE community for advice for a plug-in as close as possible to what I want...
Im currently making chnages to a wbsite I didnt build of design and have hit a bump when trying to format the date on a blog. The homnepage of the site shows the latest blog posts and this infomation is being provided by a RssDataSource so no code in the codebehind file.

The date is being displayed by <%# Eval("pubDate", "{0:YYYY-MM-dd HH:mm:ss}") %> and shows on page like this Tue, 19 Mar 2013 09:57:00 +0000 and I dont want this to show 09:57:00 +0000, but all the things I try wont change the date format.

Any help would be great.
My login and password at is slideshow for both.

I'd like to create a slideshow that will auto-adjust a picture to show them at an appropriate size for the viewer one-at-a-time.

auto-adjust size

I'm new to wordpress and some assistance in showing me what to do on my test site above would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for a Joomla - Help Desk package.  Requirements: Issue, drop downs for basic problem type, date/time submitted, user submitting.

Back end: Multiple notes & entries per issue, ability to assign to resource, priority level, misc reporting.

Best regards,

I have a new WordPress site that's not even registered with the search engines yet. But I'd like a blog right away.

What are the minimum things I need to create a blog?

Do I need to create topic areas? Should I let visitors do that?
What kind of images might I need? I think I could also display there as well as testimonials about the app.

Do I understand this right? Any suggestions?

I removed the sidebar from some of the pages on and this has left alot of white space on the sides. I'd like to have the text, from the body of the page, fill this space but am unsure of how to make this happen?

See pic or website ( ) for example of issue.

as you can see the layout is not right. The widgets should be next to the slides at top right, instead they're at right bottom of the page. all because I wanted to type something in the main page, and even though I deleted it immediately when I saw how screwed up was the layout, it was by then too late and I havent been able to fix it.

All I want is to make the widgets appear right next to the slides at the right top of the page. I reckon this should be easy but this is the fourth place I ask because no one has been able to help me.

im not a code writer but if required Im willing to go into the inner parts of my website, as long as you sort of guide me.

thanks in advance for any help!!
I have an app coming out called and will be promoting the app at my domain.

If my app were called MyApp and the domain were, what should be the URL to the blog?

I am working on a template that displays all the featured images from recent posts on one page. And the images link to that particular post. So far I have got it to work and it looks like this:screen shot of recent images
As of now it stacks on top of one another but I would like to add php code similar to this: //settings
$column = 9;

so I can decide how many columns of images to display in a row.

This is my code so far:
global $post;
$myposts = get_posts ();
foreach( $myposts as $post ) : setup_postdata($post); ?>

			<div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
				<h3 class="title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h3>

 <a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_post_thumbnail('feat_image'); ?></a>
<?php endforeach; ?>

Could someone add php to set columns in my code for me?
