Instant messaging (IM) is a type of online chat that offers real-time text transmission over the Internet. A LAN messenger operates in a similar way over a local area network. More advanced instant messaging can add file transfer, clickable hyperlinks, Voice over IP, or video chat. Non-IM types of chat include multicast transmission, usually referred to as "chat rooms". Depending on the IM protocol, the technical architecture can be peer-to-peer (direct point-to-point transmission) or client-server (a central server retransmits messages from the sender to the communication device).

There service provider (unfortunately) is GoDaddy (Cpanel). He says that a lot of his emails don't get to the recipient. He gets no bounce messages. He says the recipients have checked their junk mail folder. How do you trace a problem like this?
Our company uses O365 for all employees. One app we use within it is Skype for Business. We would like to get a report showing how many individual messages a given user sends from Skype. The MS reports only seem to provide session counts. I know in the conversation history you can see the messages sent/received, but to manually scroll through Inboxes and count these is not practical. Are there any PS scripts for this?

I have an Access 2016 application which passes Message Text to an Outlook 2016 Email MESSAGE.

When that happens, Outlook opens (If it was not already open).  The user then clicks on "SEND" and the message goes into the Outbox and STAYS THERE!

The user then has to open the Outbox and Click "Send All" otherwise the massage is never sent.

IS THIS NORMAL?  In earlier versions of Outlook, the messages in the Outbox went out almost immediately.  Does Outlook 2016 have a problem?  Is there something we should do?


I have messages from certain address goes to junk folder of some mailboxes. I know in exchange we have Set-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration to add address or addresses in block or safe lists of particular mailboxes which basically adds to them to outlook application safe or block list.

I have never heard of any way to add an address to Spam safelist organization wide. is there such option? (Powershel Command) ?

My form login in my Ms Access application hide immediately after login in a user because I use it to reference the user name control and store the names of the users and those approving documents in the table  called tblcontrol for purpose of a proper audit trail. Now I want to reference also all the massages so that they become personalized, I have massages like:
 MsgBox “Please check your book keeping entries are not balancing”
Now I want personalize the massage by ensuring that it pick the user name as the starting word like below:
MsgBox “Chris please check your book keeping entries are not balancing”
How can I insert this reference like below within the above message?
What I want to achieve is that all error messages must be personalised, this will help the users to think psychologically that the system knows exactly what they are doing:
I want to replace the   (MsgBox “Chris please check your keeping entries are not balancing”) with
MsgBox “Forms!FormName!ControlName.Value please check your keeping entries are not balancing”
 but does not work any suggestion here or is there other ways of achieving that?


CEO wants to add that as part of two-step verification when somebody creates a new account on our site.
I have a VB script that I want to adapt to remove a desktop link from the currently logged on user's Desktop.  It isn't working and I get no error messages - no nothing.

How to delete text messages on iphone?

I can’t believe this is soooooooo hard
Can anyone recommend a very simple (preferably low priced or free/open source) solution for inter-office chat?  

I'm looking for ultra simple: just the ability for about 15 employees to quickly have simple chat sessions with each other over LAN.  No need for Internet connectivity, phone, or video.

I've looked at a few solutions, but I haven't found anything that I'd feel good about sharing email addresses with.  I signed up for one as a test and got 3 emails in 24 hours.

Ideally I'd like a utility that runs in the PC system tray, and you just quickly open it, send a message to a pre-set up user on the LAN.  No bells and whistles needed.

Anything safe like that exist?

A Microsoft Outlook 365 account in our company has reached the 50 GB limit in its PST file and it stopped receiving messages. This is what I did to free space:

a) Archive all the data from year 2017
b) Archive data from January to June 2018

Now I can see that there are 2 (archived) files that sum about 25 GB but the original PST file size has not changed so I ran the Compact tool but it seems nothing is done because it finishes instantly. I click Compact and it terminates "instantly" and the size of the file remains the same.

What can be happening?
Am I missing something?

I performed this same process in 2 additional accounts (some time ago) and it worked.

After installing MobilePass (a 2FA/OTP app for use with Checkpoint
VPN), it has required my Android phone to enter a PIN : previously
I just need to swipe the screen.

The issue is: since MobilePass app is installed, all my various
Whatsapp groups don't give a sound/alert even if I set custom
notifications.  However, the new whatsapp messages will still
pop up (if I set a custom notification).

I would like the sound notifications for new messages at set
by custom notifications.

Using Exchange365 I trying to stop phishing messages that spoof the CEO's address. We have a rule set up for it but it looks wrong.
We have this set up in Exchange admin centre, protection, spam filter.

What I'm trying to configure is if the mail comes from an address where the name is 'theceo' but the mail address is not from our organisation.

Any ideas how this can be done?  We have Exchange for Business so don't yet have the enhanced anti-spoofing yet.

Hi, have an Exchange 2010 Hybrid setup

I have created distribution list in Exchange console and also distribution group in AD

Synced successfully, tried to send a mail to test@test.com

Get following error

The action 'Set-DistributionGroup', 'RequireSenderAuthenticationEnabled', can't be performed on the object 'media.queries@rtb.ie' because the object is being synchronized from your on-premises organization. This action should be performed on the object in your on-premises organization.

Have unticked Require that all senders are authenticated in Message Delivery Restrictions as sent a test mail and get below error

The group test.test only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.

Any best way to fix it?

New distribution group for a customer not working, they have hybrid on premises setup (Exchange 2010)

With distribution security group in Exchange On Premises,

I realise there are two groups

  Mail-enabled universal distribution groups (also called distribution groups) can be used only to distribute messages.

   Mail-enabled universal security groups (also called security groups) can be used to distribute messages as well as to grant access permissions to resources in Active Directory.

This is a universal security group, there is a group in Office365 setup, users are complaining that no one is receiving mail through the distribution group

Is there a checklist I can use to go through this? Just want to check the validity, someone else would have set this up, I've been added to support for our Office365 group and want to learn fast and troubleshoot this and see the best way to do this

One of our users has had an issue where his computer will restart unexpectedly, and upon restarting, the settings page in chrome for incompatible applications opens up. The first time it happened, the application listed was an Intel driver, which I applied an update to. It has since happened several times, and still shows the Reset and Clean up page, but now with no incompatible applications show up. The user has not been doing anything out of the ordinary, and there are no windows error messages, save for an unexpected shutdown flag in the logs (ID 6008).
I have a stand-alone Exchange 2013 (CU11) server.  All has been well for about 2 years now with all mail and any mail flowing well inbound and Outbound.  We do use Trend Micro Hosted Email Security for Inbound filtering.  As I just mentioned, we never had any issues with messages staying in the queue up until 5 days ago.  


1.  ALL inbound email is fine and flowing nicely.
2.  A handful of email domain suffixes will not go through.  For example, one of them is OUTBOUND mail to Sympatico.ca never leaves the Exchange Queue (also same with Bell.net and a few others).  90% of other outbound emails to other domains go through just fine.
3.  Tested DNS and appears to be resolving well
5.  Restarted the Transport Service numerous times to no avail
6.  No smoking gun in the Event Viewer
7.  Not using a smarthost on my Send Connector, using "MX record associated with recipient address" for delivery
8.  ISP even added a PTR record for my MX record.
9. get-ServerComponentState returns everything as Active

Really not sure what else to try or what typically causes only certain outbound email from specific domains from leaving the queue...  Here is what I see from one of the messages stuck in the queue (with replaced company specific info)...

I need to create the MP4 of a live webinar, where I use OBS to live stream myself to YouTube, with my green screen replaced with a professional looking image. But I need one to many chat services.

So, how much I do this?

I wish I could use a comprehensive webinar solution, but they either do not support the green screen technology (WebinarJam) OR they are too expensive (GoToWebinar).

So, my solution is to use:

1) OBS for green screen removal
2) Live OBS stream to YouTube
3) YouTube handles audio

But I need a chat service my attendees can use to submit comments and questions.  


How can i remove or deactivate an ex-employees email account from skype for business directory? I do not want the email address to be searchable since they no longer work for the organization. What is the best solution to permanently remove the account from being accessible.

I am having a wierd issue going on and I dont know where to begin. 2 seperate companies are getting a timeout from my mail.company.com. THe time out is coming from ppops.net. See below:

Both messages are similar and the only constance is ppops.net and mail.company.com. I am not having that issue with other emails, just these 2.

I have a "Contact Us" form where customers can email us to get product information.  It seems like I must have a gaping hole in the code that allows people/bots to append long messages.  I was writing the customer data to a table, and I had a text field for extra information.  Despite several honey pots I was getting a regular stream of bots filling in the text field.

I'm not doing anything with my db and I have removed the text field, but I still things appended to the form.  Attached is the latest example.  I have also attached the Contact Us page that is having the problem.
