Chat / IM

Instant messaging (IM) is a type of online chat that offers real-time text transmission over the Internet. A LAN messenger operates in a similar way over a local area network. More advanced instant messaging can add file transfer, clickable hyperlinks, Voice over IP, or video chat. Non-IM types of chat include multicast transmission, usually referred to as "chat rooms". Depending on the IM protocol, the technical architecture can be peer-to-peer (direct point-to-point transmission) or client-server (a central server retransmits messages from the sender to the communication device).

I have a VB.NET 2015 program that has a Tcp socket Listener and client applications to send messages to workers by their ip address.
I need to be able to pick up a file from a directory and send the text files data to a client machine connected to the listener. The file name is the ip address. When the file gets put into the directory is when the listener will pickup the file and send it to the appropriate ip address. I can pickup the file but the message gets sent to all clients connected to the listener.  My code is below.

Imports System.IO
Imports System.Net
Imports System.Net.Sockets
Imports System.Drawing.Size
Imports System.Net.IPAddress
Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileSystem
Imports System.Windows.Forms
Imports System.ComponentModel

    Dim ServerTrying = False
    Dim Server As TcpListener
    Dim Clients As New List(Of TcpClient)

    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
        CheckForIllegalCrossThreadCalls = False

    End Sub

    Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
        'Dim CN_GetData2015 As New CN_GetData2015

    End Sub

    Function StartServer()
        If ServerStatus = False Then
            ServerTrying = True

Respond with a text message automatically.

I have been brainstorming for a while regarding wording that is least likely to upset even the most demanding person or client and I am getting closer.

I have come up with this auto-text message so far:

I am sorry that I missed your call. Since this phone is currently set up for outgoing calls and text messages only, please respond with a text. This will give me a chance to wrap up whatever I am in the middle of, and give your call the undivided attention that it deserves. Thank you for understanding and I look forward to talking with you.

What are your thoughts about the approach to the auto-response and how can I implement it so that it happens automatically, after x rings, or after I have forced it to be passed to the caller even sooner.

This approach is intended to make communication clear more effective for both parties.
Our school district uses Google mail and have seen lately an issue where the Chrome browser says that "Something's not Right" in the Messenger area of the email window.  We are running Windows 10 computers and it seems to happen sporadically.  If you clear the Cache it seems to work for awhile and then will give the same error again.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?
A friend sent me a hoax warning not to accept Facebook friend requests from Andrea Wilson. That it could cause trouble:

"Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept friendship request from Andrea Wilson . She is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks."

However, two other friends told me it was a hoax and I found two links that SEEM to indicate they're correct:
(Search on "Andrea")

Based on the below can I rest assured the original msg I received is a hoax? Thanks.
We are looking for a solution that can automatically send a read receipt for internal users. We've worked with some of the end users and configured their installed copies of Outlook 2016 to always ask the recipient to send a read receipt, however this does not always work.

The organization sends a large amount of messages internally and knowing that the user read the request means that the sender can move on to the next case without worrying if their request was received by another department.

Is there a recommended solution for this scenario? Outlook plugin, etc?

Attach pictures to a Facebook messenger message from an online folder or album.

I would like to be able to attach pictures to a Facebook message from an online folder or album, and not just from the hodgepodge of pictures that have somehow made it into the root of the local gallery on my phone.

The two online services that I am currently considering using are from Microsoft and from Google, but neither of those folders or albums seems to be accessible from my Android Galaxy Note 8 phone.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.
Hi All,

I am setting up a Kiwi Syslog Server v 8.3.52 on our  Windows Server 2012 R2. So far, i've configured the switch to enable logging and assign the logging host.

Sending test messages from the local host and from an alternative device works (using Kiwi Syslog Gen).

I have ticked to Listen for incoming TCP Syslog Messages in the setup window.

The issue i am facing is that there is nothing being generated on the Syslog Server apart from test messages (Please refer attached image). Any help regarding this matter would be highly appreciated.

We have

)table   in Azure Database
We need
 1) .Net Application which   adds records   to the table
 2) when record is added , the message should be put in  Azure  Queue
3)  .Net application which takes messages from Azure Queue

how to do it the most optimal way ?
Say, Wasavi offers to send whatsapp messages to Google Contacts and Google Groups (in Google Contacts). It uses Whatsapp Business.
The only functionality I'm looking for is to send Whatsapp messages to Google groups (in Google Contacts) stored on the Android phone.
Wasavi offers a whole lot of additional functionality which is not needed. The application can either run in Windows and use Whatsapp Web for Business or on the android phone. the main functionality it needs is to be able to send Whatsapp messages to Google Contacts and the Groups within those contacts. Thanks

Now a requirement exists that this webserver that will send unmonitored email (for registrations and mailshots) and it must come from

How can I relay messages through O365 with this subdomain address?

We have an issue after standing up a hybrid solution. Only on-prem users can see online users and send messages. Does not matter if they are local to network or coming through Edge server on guest network. Online users can only see other online users, cannot send or reply to on-prem users. Both sides are open federation. Federation partner test passes. All users are synced with AADC with Skype attributes enabled. All local, tenant configuration settings, DNS entries doubled checked by multiple people. Edge server running in DMZ with dual NICs with F5 acting as reverse proxy. Wondering if someone could point us to where we need to go next for testing, troubleshooting to get this resolved.

The application to be developed consists of Webserver and the TCP Server. The TCP server listens to specific port and keeps on sending Keepalive and messages. While the HTTP server accepts user input and send the data to the TCP Server. So my question here is whether the TCP server can act as the HTTP Server. If so how can this be scheived. I am using Poco C++ libraries for HTTP and TCP server If there is some example please can you guid me here.,
My name is Chris Scott  and I need help on an issue we are having with a project developed in Visual Studio 2017. The software resides on a  Windows 2012 R@ Server connecting to SQL 2012 Server. The software has been running fine, but for the last 2 months we have been experiencing Session Freezing and lockup requiring a reboot for other users to be able to use the software. We are rebooting once a day and the only messages we are getting is App Crash. A generic error. Wayne who is the developer can add technical detail.

Hoping someone can help us here. We are going through the process of developing a new OS and part of the backup process we used to use when doing this was to pull the the 2nd drive in each array (Raid 1) and keep that safe. If for whatever reason we need to revert changes we can simply boot those disks and mirror them. Now that process worked nicely with the G8 servers - when we plugged the older disks in we would get an advisory message that certain slots where missing and we could continue in interim recovery mode - this worked every-time without fail for many years in many different servers.

Now we have a new Gen 10 380 LFF server with the P408i array controller and that process nhas stopped working (it did when we tested it at the start of the project) - the server gives us the same advisory message and when we accept (F2) to continue in interim recovery mode (see below) the system does not boot, it tries to PXE boot instead (indicating its not seeing an OS). When we look at the arrays controller everything seems normal for the fact it has missing drives. Arrays all there as normal with the expected error messages. It just wont boot from them.

Does anyone have any advice on what me might be doing wrong?

Here is what we have tried:
1.  Deleting the array config with all drives removed from the server
2. Adding one of the disks to another serer and creating a raid 0 array where it sees all of the data perfectly intact
3. While in the array config …
Can you turn EOP in exchange online/O365 tenant ? we have an issue in our Hybrid Organization. Hybrid is configured as centralized transport so all traffic comes via on prem and we do have our own messaging gateway which is proofpoint. the issue is some external messages that is coming into our exchange organization and then going to mailbox in O365 getting blocked by EOP saying the IP is banned and those are the IPs from the pool of our NAT IP addresses i guess couple of them has bad reputation. either we want to add all of our NAT ip addresses as safe in which is crazy cuz it doent give you to add IP range or bulk and adding 100s of IPs one by one then confirming the email is almost impossible for me to do.
so is there a way to add bulk IPs in safe list in EOP or Disable EOP over all?
I have created a rule to add a warning message for all external messages coming to  Exchange Online. The rules is not working for any of the test users,  no warning  is attached to new external message, I waited for  more that 24 hr without any positive result.  All  the users are cloud only in the Office 365 tenant. There is no Exchange on-prem and no local AD.   What else do I need to do to make the rule MAIL-RULE-FAILED.docx work? Thank you.
whats the best way to make an app that recieves messages from udp port (string )  convert into and object  and send it to a  db  by store procedure . using .net or .net core   ... is favorable to use MSQM ? (using a buffer ?) or  is way better to use  sql server vs MSQM .. what about MSQM over WCF ? ane suggestions.  .. it means  massive (5000+/sec) messages    and convert it  to an object and  use a store procedure
At work,  when documents need to be scanned and saved by our imaging department, employees send the documents to an email inbox. This is a dedicated inbox that exists for the sole purpose of receiving emails with attachments that need to be imaged. I manually save the documents to a folder on a shared network drive based on contents of the subject line that determines the document category/folder it goes in. I want to automate this with vba so emails & their attachments are saved on the network drive on arrival.   Email messages themselves require saving even if without attachments.   I'm using office  2016, 2110

Emails from my mandrill smtp server to myself are being rejected as a soft bounce.  How can I resolve this?  I rely on these emails for error messages from my websites and other things.  I can get email at this account but not if it was sent from my website using my smtp (mandrill) server.  Any help would be much appreciated!  Note that the email account is hosted at GoDaddy but I can't find a setting there to fix that.
I am trying to develop an API call to to retrieve my "token" so I can begin uploading products.  I have referenced the developer docs below, but I keep getting error messages. Is it necessary to really add the spaces and line feeds, or is this just for readability. Trying to get past step one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am using Visual Studio Community 2017/C++ and AGK Trial 2 to develop GUI apps. The Console output nor the VS output don't show any debug messages, whereas the exact same code worked fine with Visual Studio 2010.  To start with I  used an AGK template VS2015 project and inserted my old working AGK code to it. It builds and runs perfectly in VS2017, but the Console doesn't show any debugging messages printed with "cout", as it did when using VS2010.   The following code  is the function I used to pop up the Console:

// for the console to display "cout" outputs, all these must be included
// And later these should be removed when you program is fully debugge
#include <Windows.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <direct.h>
#include <fcntl.h>
#include <io.h>

void console_back()

int hCrt;
     FILE *hf;

   hCrt = _open_osfhandle(
             (long) GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE),
   hf = _fdopen( hCrt, "w" );
   *stdout = *hf;
   int i = setvbuf( stdout, NULL, _IONBF, 0 );

// in the main code
cout << "Hi, Hello World";

Open in new window

As is see in the attached snapshot, the Console pops up but stays blank, though the is no runtime complains from the
system about the cout << "Hi ..".

Experts, any ideas why this happens?  I hope there is a workaround for this problem, sample code is highly appreciated.

A side note, I am using a trial version of AGK package, where I don't have a debug version of AGKWindows.lib so I can't
build VS2017  in debug mode.  This makes debugging with console messages the only option for right now.
After all as long as I have a way to debug, I will be happy. But I don't know if the retail version of AGK  has the debug version of the AGKWindows.lib in C++.  Any comments or suggestions along this avenue are also appreciated.

Dear Expert,

I have  client computers connecting to 1 GB speed access to switches 3750/3850.

These access switches connect to a pair of 6500 core switches. These go out to the SD WAN ISP, and they mark the Skype traffic, both voice and video.

I would like to prioritise Skype traffic on the LAN segment from desktop SfB client to the edge. We use SfB online only.

Would a class map suffice and any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance
