SITECORE: Key differences between Core, Master and Web

I am new to Sitecore and seek a simple explanation of the key differences between Core, Master and Web.

Also, is Sitecore considered a form of "cloud computing"?

Looking for feedback on what products to consider for o365 sharepoint cloud backup of working data and backend?

What input on most important things to consider when weighing options, conventions and gotchas?

Thank you.
Looking to migrate towards a Hybrid Cloud, but first need to get inventory and visualization of our Environment.

Any suggestions on what kind of questions I should ask when looking for this service?

All answers are good answers to me as I will research further, but I'm currently working on a list of questions for vendors.
I have 2 machines:
Computer 1 at the Office
Computer 2 at Home
I have sharing document in Microsoft words named “Document#2”
I want to use the cloud service with Office 365
@Computer 1:
I do the following configuration:
Go to regedit > HKLM > software > Policy> Microsoft> windows > Delete the One Drive folder
Install the One Drive for business > click the “setting” > put the email address > sign in
I can see at my “file explorer”, there is OneDrive – Boba
When I highlight OneDrive – Boba: I can see the following folders:
Attachment (folder) (status: cloud)
Documents (folder) (Status: green color Check mark inside the ring)
Microsoft Teams Chat files (folder) (Status: green color Check mark inside the ring)
Notebooks (folder) (Status: green color Check mark inside the ring)
Microsoft word (file) (Status: green color Check mark inside the ring)

I put the sharing document “Document#2” inside the Documents (folder); share to

@Computer 2:
I setup it up the same as Computer 1
Good news, I can see the “Document#2” at this computer at the OneDrive – Boba

Question: I am confused ; Where is the Sharepoint here? Do we use the SharePoint?Somebody can explain please

CONNECTIVITY TEST FAILED:  Testing RPC over HTTP connectivity to server
       RPC over HTTP connectivity failed.

We're in process of preparing to migrate our Exchange 2010 email server to the Microsoft Cloud, and we're getting this error when we do a connectivity test.  We have our SSL cert in place, and we've opened the required ports (TCP/UDP 6000-6004) on our firewall, as well as verified 443 is open.  In spite of this, we get this error above.  I'm looking for anyone who has maybe experienced this same error and worked thru it.  I did find this suggestion online, but am not sure if I need to mess with my server's "External Hostname".  I found it on Technet:

"The ExRCA tool will check the connection by external settings in Exchange.
And, I suppose that the host name of Outlook Anywhere, run "Get-OutlookAnywhere | FL Identity,*Host*" to check it.

If the ExternalHostName is server.domain.local, change it to and retest ExRCA again. "

Anybody try this with good results?

Thanks for your help.
I have had 2 customers in the past ask me to move them "to the cloud" Both left me soon after I should the numbers and my time were more than paying for a new server and using me to manage.
I currently have a prospective small non profit asking the same thing. They have a Windows domain server I don' trust. (doesn't boot well) And they wanted a flat rate per month to maintain. I pay for parts and software.
I know a board member has put a bug in their ear saying "OneDrive is great!". I don't see that kind of product as working for them from a security  and a performance point of view. They currently have 30MB download and I told them they'd need to upgrade to 100 MBPS as a start. There are only 1-3 people in the office at a time with a max of 8 computers in the office that could be used at one time
They just want a file server in the cloud.
Any success stories out there?
They probably have 100 GB of data to move to cloud.
Serious iCloud login problem from macOS HighSierra to iCloud

Attempt to login to iCloud from macOS HighSierra [10.13.6] with newly created Mac Mini password results in login locked out after 3 attempts to enter newly created password. This password was newly created to satisfy password requirement for iCloud login and works for cold start login. There was no previous password.

How to I [re]create iCloud login?
Getting some test environment for AWS and Azure

I am in no position to spend money, so I would not be surprised to hear that neither AWS nor Azure has anything for me. But, I hope for a small test environment for Mac or Windows which allows me to touch and feel the environment and even interact with it in some fashion.

Is there such thing as a developer's license? Or, have third parties set up training efforts that could let me get some hands-on experience with either AWS or Azure?

In the case of AWS, this may mean some restricted access to Cloud 9...

What is Cloud 9 on AWS?

Please explain the highlights os using Cloud 9 on AWS. And explain their Javascript editor and/or unique Javascript language.

Is anyone aware of a Cloud Desktop solution that I can use to provide a VMWare Workstation 14 based Virtualisation lab environment for students?

We want to provide a cloud desktop to the student with 32GB RAM

Can Citrix XenDesktop (cloud offering) do this?

AWS Workspaces doesn't provide nested virtualisation (vt-x disabled). However, can build a solution utilising AWS i3.metal instance. Unfortunately this is not available in Australia at this point in time.
Hi guys

I'm looking for an environment outside of my work place that I can log in to to play around with Vmware along with setting up Windows infrastructures. So that I can set up a lab of my own. I know that AWS is one place, any other places?

Thanks for helping
I've seen a Squarespace website that has a BOOK AN APPOINTMENT button that links to has acquired cloud storage and has created a subdomain for the business abcchiropractor.  They've also associated a function with the storage that books appointments after referring to a database, etc.  They say they've also created a Charting function that lets doctors keep charts on individual patients.

I want to do something similar, where my clients can have their own space in a cloud where they can describe an idea that they want to develop and bring to market. So after logging in to their cloud area, they could upload videos that described themselves and their idea, as well as images and documents. This could all be viewed by other people, like potential investors.

I'm looking for a development platform that would do as much of the heavy lifting here as possible. My initial thought is to start with a Squarespace site.  From there the client would log into their cloud area and upload what they wanted to their private space.   Does anyone know of a platform that might work for me here?

Thank you!
What is the best solution for Citrix Cloud, Azure HSD Workloads and O365 with One Drive integration?
Like for 200 Users,  Citrix cloud and Azure AD, Express route, Azure Windows 2016 Server VMs as Citrix Work loads, O365 with One Drive as Profile storage.
On-Prem apps will publish.
Challenge is One drive integration. For On-Prem we have File Director, Cloud Drive solutions.
For Citrix Cloud and Azure, do we have any such solutions?
Please suggest.
I would like to run/travel with a clean laptop with nothing on it, but the programs I run. No password so TSA can have a look.

Want to pull everything down from the cloud.

What's the best approach.

MS Office 365?
I am working on a CASB solution and would like to know what cloud security metrics are usually important to management.  The plan is to build a dashboard to include these metrics.
hi guys

One of our directors has asked me some questions about what we could do in the future to reduce the need for I.T presence at one of our countries and instead have it so that the support is almost entirely run from the U.K instead.

The site at our other country has two separate sites. One is a warehouse, the other is an office. The total number of users at both sites together is around 100 users. There are firewalls at both sites. There are VPN's connecting both sites. Those sites are also connected to us in the U.K

I mean, one of the only ways to reduce the I.T presence in one place is by reducing the types of physical hardware/equipment which would constantly require physical presence, right? So things like switches, PC's dying on you, printers, file storage, SAN disks needing replacement, you name it all will require some level of physical intervention.

By heading towards Office 365 and Exchange online, would you say that helps slightly reduce the overhead?

Along with that, how about instead of having PC's that are powerful, have decent thin clients and have high enough bandwidth to give them connectivity to their own virtualised machine on like a cluster of Vmware/Hyper-V servers on a SAN that have been spun up for them. So that would then reduce the possibility of hardware/disk failures on site and instead have them run on virtual terminals. Are there performance issues with that? Are the costs in the longer term reduce and is the quality …
Looking for research, links/opinions on Okta vs.  Azure AD.
What is it Okta can do or do better than Azure?  Would you need Okta if you already have Azure implemented?
Is it better for provisioning/de-provisioning accounts, apps?   Better on doing SSO/MFA?  Is Okta better than Azure?

Please advice if anyone dealt with both.  Thanks in advance!
I have an Azure PAYG subscription and have a Windows 2016 DC   VM  in Azure . How can I schedule auto start and shutdown ( say 6 AM Start and 6 PM shutdown )
I can see some runbook scripts . Any documentation on it is appreciated
Dear Experts
I am looking for cloud computing service to host the websites and have internally decided we go for Google Cloud Computing, few websites (word press /drupal are on dedicated VM’s and few are on shared VM’s ,  one of our customer runs multiple campaigns hence  based on campaign schedules the traffic would be high hence would like design the cloud architecture such that website experience to the end-users should not be slow on campaigns schedule.
1.Please suggest what to choose in Google cloud platform, to achieve website (word press/Drupal ) application load balancing and auto-scaling. Without load balancing can we still go for auto-scaling.
2.If we go for auto-scaling should we have to separately avail High availability OR does auto-scaling includes application load balancing and High availability.
please help, thanks in advance.
Hi Experts

Could you point what's needed to run a script when using "Firebase" cloud app?

I need to insert a large set of lines  on a firebase table and need a way to run a script to do the task.

Thanks in advance!
Does anyone know the pricing structure for Okta vs Azure?  I know Azure is per user per month or year.
What about Okta?  Is it more expensive?
Wonder if anyone did apple to apple price comparisons.
Application support and provisioning is questionable.  Eventho Okta saying they have 5000 built-in integrations.  Not sure about that.
Thanks in Advance!

I have a customer that has a very small environment with 1 windows server with AD on it.  (about 10-15 users and most of them remote).
They don't have the funds for a second DC, currently, i have backups of file level and am using windows server backup for image backups.
was thinking about this scenario  but wanted to run it by the experts to get their thoughts on it:     would like to create an Active directory server in the cloud that can, 1. sync with the onprem AD (so we have a copy of ACTIVE Directory in the cloud).   or 2. sync once a day while firing up the cloud server to allow syncing and then turn it off---to save on cost--incase cost is an issue.   3. have a scenario where the remote users can authenticate and not use cached profiles (besides using vpn).

question on the above scenario:   I'm sure Im not the first one thinking about this scenario---wanted to get your thoughts on how you guys are handling it for small businesses.
We are moving some of our apps/systems to the cloud.
However, some vendors for the cloud projects came back to
say that the OS is a stripped down Linux which is hardened
& that it's not applicable to install/run AV.

In view of high profile attacks and audit requirements, I
loathe to raise exemption/deviation even if the cloud VM
is not accessible to public (ie firewalled to our corporate
only).  I noticed that AWS & another vendor that uses VM
on WIndows guest offers AV

Is there a quick/easy way for me to verify that the 'strip-
down Linux OS' the vendor uses in the cloud truly could
not support AV?  Guess by running 'uname -a' is not
enough.  Or is there a script for me to verify?
Or can I verify by checking what are the past patches
they had been applying?  If it's all RedHat/Rhel patches
then, it's just simply a hardened RHEL which should
support many AV

What are the usual audit requirements for AV for a custom
Linux VM in the cloud?  Don't really need an AV under what

If it's truly a stripped-down Linux say based on CentOS or
FreeBSD, can I assess the patch requirements based on
CentOS & FreeBSD?  I recall when running a VA scan
against a PABX that's based on RHEL, all vulnerabilities
for RHEL are applicable & the PABX vendor produces
the patches though they are behind RedHat by a few
months in coming out with the patches.

This reminds me of IOT, many of which are appliances
that customizes their OS from …
I have created an VM in  Azure cloud with MSDN subscription in SEAsia datacenter. I have the PAYG subscription now . How I can move the VM from SEAsia datacenter to Australian DC .
( I see some links in the web . But Is there a reliable recent one you have tested )
Industry 4.0 is no longer new to us, but I would like to know a bit more on its implementation in real world case studies.

For those really had implemented (or going to implement) Industry 4.0 in their corporation's network, what things to focus and how the corporation adapt it through the whole transformation process.

Can you share your experiences in Industry 4.0 implementation?

Feel free to comment and discuss, thanks.
