What are the best online resources for learning how to implement, support, and troubleshoot Azure and using Azure to run virtual machines in the cloud?

I prefer online resources over books and will be more than willing to pay for online training and support services.

Please let me know what resources are available.
Can I setup a folder structure on OnDrive to share files such that different users can access files on designated folders only ?

Alternatively, any cloud solution that can meet this purpose ?

Is there any setup example on sharing files on Microsoft Clouds, main on

1. simply sharing of files across different regions in China
2. approval progress for CAPEX / OPEX (Excel / Word document)

Is it any simple guideline for setting up option 2 ?

Can I say Clouds should provide better performance (Speed) comparing with users access the document in one centralized server through VPN, as Microsoft should provide better network connectivity across different regions / countries through their cloud services ? Window OS are Window 7, 8 and 10.

We have an ancient server running in our office that needs to be replaced and properly backed up.  Our goal is ultimately to move to cloud server.  Following is our IT response:

"Phase I

Configure and ship a small HP brick server to be used to host applications to ECH.
Purchase and ship a Datto device to Solve IT Solutions
Configure the Datto device as required for initial link and then ship to Hawaii
Once both the server and Datto devices are received in Hawaii, connect the server to domain and migrate over applications
Create a virtual data center on our hosting platform only because we know the interoperability’s of it inside and out. This is information on our data center that we use and note that it is one of the largest in the world: This is not owned by Solve IT Solutions (Although I wish I had stock) Microsoft Azure is basically a hosting platform that is similar to the ones that we use that runs out of datacenters like these.
In your virtual data center, we will create a domain controller and a virtual router.
Connect a site to site vpn a connection between your office and the virtual data center
Migrate your Domain Controller to the cloud server
Demote the on-site server and take offline to save for the time being.
Configure the Datto device to backup the onsite VM’s in encrypted format
Test the entire operation and ensure that all applications are working as required as well as log on and log off
How can I as a Google super administrator determine the total number of files that all of our company's users have within Google Drive?

So far I have only been able to determine things such as the total size of all of our data or how many files have been added each day but haven't been able to determine the total number of files contained within our corporate Google Drive.

I understand that their are custom URL hyperlinks available to display data such as this that can't be directly accessed by going through the website. For example the custom URL was provided to me by someone else which does display more detailed information that had been unavailable to me.
Researching Hosted Exchange (online) for a client (71 mailboxes). Question has come up as to why I would need to employ a Hybrid setup and what that cost might be. My understanding is a hybrid setup would be done if client had an exchange server on site previously and wanted to migrate those settings and mailboxes to the online exchange version while retaining the features. It would also grant more time to make the migration of the mailboxes to the online version. I would also need archiving to meet requirements for this client. The client currently has POP email hosted by another firm currently, do i even need to do a hybrid setup? The ongoing cost of exchange online would be a total of $497 per month.  This would include $4.00 x 71 for the email boxes = $284 plus $3.00 for archiving x 71 users = $213 per month. Knowing the task will have a one time charge to migrate the email boxes. Can someone verify if I am missing something?
I have about 200 members that are participating in a video contest. I want for them to give me their videos the easiest way possible. I  thought about using Dropbox. During testing, I send them a Dropbox link; when they tried to "drop" me a file, they are asked to create a Dropbox account. That idea did not go over well.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome!
Anyone using SkySync Enterprise connected straight through to StorageCraft's cloud? StorageCraft hasn't completed their Box sync yet. Trying to determine if it's possible to Sync between Box and StorageCraft data center using SkySync.
What are the important factors to consider while migrating to cloud and the best practices needed to protect your investment.
I have several sites with on premise VMware setups running numerous applications. I want to move all out to cloud. The challenge I have is what fit is best. I’m leaning toward private data centre as I can transition swiftly and all resources are dedicated and will be resilient.
Iaas has been mentioned but I’m not sure if it’s economical as I have over 120 vms.

Interested to hear from other people who were in this scenario and what they chose. Thanks
A ways back, I'd set up nameservers on my VPS (let's call them '' and '').  I host a couple of dozens websites on that VPS.

For all of my domains, on the domain registrar's site, I'd set the Nameservers for that domain to Custom Nameservers:  '' and ''.

Recently, I had to ask my VPS provider to create a new server for me (let's call it 'newVPS'), leaving my previous VPS (let's call it 'oldVPS') active so I could migrate or re-create accounts and contents from the oldVPS to the newVPS.

Both the oldVPS and newVPS use WHM/CPanel admin interfaces.
The oldVPS is setup as (cut and pasted from the WHM panel banner): 'CENTOS 6.9 i686 virtuozzo – oldvps  WHM 56.0 (build 52)'
The newVPS is setup as (cut and pasted from the WHM panel banner): 'CENTOS 7.4 virtuozzo [newvps]  v68.0.21'

My understanding (which is limited in these areas) is that the nameservers I setup on my VPS have to be associated with one of the domains I own/host on that VPS.

The nameservers which I had previously setup on oldVPS were associated with '' one of the domains/accounts hosted on oldVPS.

For simplicity, I'm thinking of creating new nameservers on newVPS and associate them with '', another domain/account to be hosted on newVPS.

How do I create my new nameservers on newVPS, say '' and '', presumably from newVPS's WHM (I'm …
We're currently storing data on Office 365 cloud and looking for redundancy, so far we tested Cloud Ally and it's hard to tell how well it's working. My personal feeling is it's too light, meaning it doesn't provide enough feedback of current status especially larger folders. Just says, "backup in progress" and nothing else. Depending on the folder size this can last for days.

I'm not concerned with running my own calculations to determine when the backup should finish. I'm looking for software that will do this for me or I would just FTP sync the data myself.

Question EE, what have you used for cloud to cloud backup and why?

Thank you
We have a connection to the Internet and now we just added another Internet connection. We want to use the new Internet connection just for Office 365. I am not sure how to go about doing this as I have a default route from my core to the FW and then from the FW to the provider router. So currently all Internet connection, including O365, is pointed to the default route and there is nothing going out of the the new Internet connection.
We have a physical connection from the provider to the FW, then from the FW to the core switch.

Any thoughts? Thanks
I have an algorithm, written in MS C++ that I'm going to move to the cloud.  But I don't know a lot about cloud applications.  The plan is that I just work on my algorithmic code, and somebody else who is versed in cloud stuff will hook it up.   It was suggested that I modify my code into "a DLL that you call from within a web page hosted in IIS".   Can someone tell me what I might need to know about this?   Do you think I need to know anything about web or IIS to do this?  If I just format my code as a DLL that could be called by another C++ program (a test harness) - then should I be able to hand off that DLL to somebody else to stitch into the usage by "a web page hosted by IIS" ?  I would want to supply a DLL (not source code) with a published API that others can put "in the cloud".  Wondering if I need to know about web and IIS...

Has anyone used the Azure Information Protection scanner for scanning files on internal networks?  We are looking to use this for identifying all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to meet the General Data Protection Regulation that goes into effect May 25, 2018.

I am looking for feedback on anyone's experience with this.

I have one Azure VM which exist in a different region to our other Azure VM's and  is not connected to our vnet.

I have to get data off the data disk.

Can I mount the data disk VHD  blob directly in a Windows 10 PC? Can I mount the blob across regions to an existing VM?

How s can I get the data across to our main vnet?
Help Request:
Hi Support
we have 2 site in AD DS (HO & AWS), i have installed a new DC for AWS Site and associated the AWS subnet
now the machines in my AWS Site are logon to HO DC instead of AWS DC, this increase network latency (as 2 sites are connected through site to site VPN). how can we make sure AWS site clients authenticate AWS DC
A customer wants to have users register, manage profile, reset password and this is possible using B2C.

What I'd like to know is, whether it is possible to integrate all this functionality in an existing web application and perform REST APIs to Azure B2C?

I've been using Dropbox for years, the 1 TB account and I think it's great.  I have some clients that use Google Drive and they think it's great--until lately.  One of the users deleted a bunch of random files in many different folders.  Being familiar with Dropbox, I was thinking that it was going to be simple to restore these deleted files from the trash.  I would just go in there (past the meatloaf from last week, egg shells, etc) and sort the trash folder by date deleted or date modified and restore the data back to its original location. Apparently, it's not that simple.  The trash is all mixed together.  It has a "last modified" and "last opened" column option but there is no chronological sorting when those options are selected.  Please say that I'm missing something here.  I googled, "google drive restore by date deleted files" in hopes to find someone else that had this issue.  I found an old Google productforums page and the conclusion by the Google Drive tech was, "Thank you for posting and sorry you're running into this issue. The only way for you to restore files on specific days is to do it manually."  So, no sorting in the trash?  You must restore the whole thing and then sort through it?  I checked out Dropbox again and I see that you can sort the deleted files by date/time deleted.  Please let me know if you have some experience with this or if Google Drive is not a good option.  Thank you!
Dear Experts,

I'm a final year student majoring in Computer Engineering and currently my team and  i are looking for title for our last project, which topics are IoT, Networking, Cloud computing, and Embeded. but we prefer in Networking and IoT.
Can you help me to get an appropriate Title.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to preserve snapshot tags in AWS. This node.js function moves the snapshots to another region but does not preserve tags so it becomes difficult to identify which server the snapshot belonged to.
If I cannot preserve tags, I would like to know how to tag a snapshot using the javascript code below. Example Key:DeleteOn Value [currentdate]
I found this code snippet that may be of help:

 // Add tags to the instance
   params = {Resources: [instanceId], Tags: [
         Key: 'DeleteOn',
         Value: 'current date as 2017-12-05'
   ec2.createTags(params, function(err) {
      console.log("Tagging instance", err ? "failure" : "success");
//define variables
var sourceRegion = 'us-east-1';
var destinationRegion = 'us-east-2';
var AWS = require('aws-sdk');
console.log ('Loading function');

//main function
exports.handler = (event, context, callback) => {

    //Get the EBS snapshot ID from Cloudwatch event details
    var snapshotArn = event.detail.snapshot_id.split('/');
    const snapshotId = snapshotArn['1'];
    const description = 'Snapshot copy from ${snapshotId} in ${sourceRegion}';
    console.log ("snapshotId:", snapshotId);

    //Load EC2 class and update the configuration to use destination
    AWS.config.update({region: destinationRegion});
    var ec2 = new

By reading from many unnamed sources I understand that the per-hour fee of Azure Windows Server instance includes Windows Server license and Client Access.

Now lets say that I spin up a Windows server instance into my subscription, install AD DS role(s) and join my customers workstation to the new domain. (Something Something network/VPN/etc. related in between) My customer has access only to the services from the server and has no knowledge or access to the underlying virtual hardware.

Obviously the server instance is licensed (me as the owner, ...right?) and my own Client Access should be set, but is my customers Client Access covered as an user/external user?
I am confused about when and why to run many contianers in a single task? or should be one task and one container ?

what is the logic for this?
We have an old ERP solution that only runs on a 32-bit server. Currently it is running on an old local Windows Server 2003 R2 with Service Pack 2.

I believe Windows Server 2008 was the last "server" product that Microsoft released that was available as 32-bit. As a test, I built a new server VM running 2008 but my ERP solution didn't like it at all. So I deleted the VM. (It was still 32-bit so other than the fact that 2003 is EOL, there was really no benefit anyway)

I'm not really interested in upgrading the server that the ERP solution is running on because (1) 32-bit is limited to 4 gb ram and (2) as I mentioned, the 2008 instance was a bust.

What I AM interested in doing, is moving this VM from my local server to a VPS or a cloud hosted solution.

Web hosting companies like A2 Hosting or Rackspace, etc ... they DO offer VPS hosting but they come pre-loaded with Server 2012, which means it's 64-bit, which means my ERP solution won't run on it. And since these are not the types of hosting plans where I can BYOOS (bring your own OS), it's not a solution for me.

Is there a way for me to take my VM (prebuilt, running Windows Server 2003 and my ERP already installed) and just "upload" it somewhere?

I don't know much about Azure but from my limited research, it appears you CAN spin up your own Azure server instance and during the deployment, choose your own OS.  The problem is, since Win Server 2003 is EOL, it's not one of the OS options that you get in the …
