We are using Sharepoint with OneDrive. We need to make it so that only the files we are using sync to our computers and then synced to back to Sharepoint and removed when we are done with it. Right now, everything in OneDrive cloud storage keeps trying to sync and it is filling up our local hard drives. Is OneDrive the correct tool, or is there a better way to accomplish this?

When I install OneDrive I see the option to select which folders will sync, but cannot get down to the file level. Also, there are no options to have documents removed from local drive once we I am done working on them.
I am being tasked by my IT Director to research the steps that we need to do in order to start the CLOUD office 365 migration. I am being tasked to find a simple way of migrating or moving our users to the cloud. We are thinking of using MFA, but we found it more complicated and we have the current situation with our exchange that we need the fastest way of moving people to the cloud. We already have the office 365 account setup.
My questions are:
-      What should I do first in order to start the process? Are there any checklist that we have to follow?
-      We don’t want to use MFA at this time, but we might add it later. What should be the fastest method of authentication that I can recommend?

I was navigating through my files on using my Windows 10 Pro PC.

I found that after clicking on an image file I uploaded, I could switch between all my images with arrow keys.

However, this does not work for other files such as videos, PDFs, text files, etc.

I would like to for example, click on an image file and then use arrow key to switch to next file which could be video file, PDF, etc.

Is there a way of switching between all my files in Dropbox with arrows keys without having to back out of each file?

Hopefully, someone can assist. Ideally this is the 2nd time I have worked with Azure APIs - in more of a sysadmin role vs Developer.

Essentially what I want is to export the Non-Compliance Microsoft Azure Policies to a HTML report, there is no currently way of doing this so worked on my own method.

Connecting to the PolicyAssignments API I have been successfully able to export the: Azure Policy Names, Azure Policy Descriptions however not the Non Compliant resources or policies. Essentially what I am getting back is a '0', which although is really nice! I know it not to be the truth!

Attached to this post is a screenshot of the HTML export I have managed to do, but don't understand why the Resources & Policies are all coming up as '0'.

This is the code I have so far:

$PolicyResults = @()
ForEach ($subid in $subscriptionId)

    $Headers = @{
        'authorization' = "Bearer $token"
        'host'          = ''
        'contentype'    = 'application/json'

    $url = "$subid/providers/Microsoft.Authorization/policyAssignments?api-version=2017-06-01-preview"

    $policies = Invoke-RestMethod  -Uri $url  -Headers $Headers -Method Get

ForEach ($policy in $policies.value) {

    $id = $
    $resources =

In office 365 point of view:

Can anybody tell me in easy words. What is different among Test users, Pilot users and corporate users. thanks

Hi All,

I have a number of users testing Office 365 as we plan to migrate from onprem 2013 to cloud. One thing that has come up is that users loose all of there office profile related settings. I was hoping that it would be a process in which you can migrate certain settings into a cloud profile? Does 365 store a profile in cloud so that you get the same experience wherever logged in? and is there a process of migrating existing profiles?
Some of our users have started to loose access to network shares on Server 2016 whilst others continue to access.  The only fix i can find is to reboot the server (not ideal).  When the shares stop working the effected computers can still ping the server and access the server internal IIS web page.

They access the shares over a VPN in an Azure hybrid cloud environment.  I have a pfsense to AzureVPN gateway VPN setup and working.  Everything has been working for months up until the last few days.

The strange thing is I have a similar setup for another customer (lan/azure hybrid network) and this environment is having the same issues on a completely separate network and separate Azure Tennant and this is with Server 2012.

Any advice to help troubleshoot / identify the problem would be appreciated.  I have raised a ticket with Azure support but think it may take a while to get anywhere.
Please help me understand the difference between scalability and elasticity as most people use these terms interchangeably. As far as my opinion is concerned I find difference between the duo.

I can call scalability as the ability of a system to scale up or increase the workload in its present hardware. Whereas elasticity is related to deployed-on-cloud applications and it involves dynamic addition of hardware resources as per demand.

Am I correct with the  difference? Can someone help me out with examples so that I can draw accurate point of distinction between these two terms?
I would like to recognize sounds within an audio stream.  For instance, a doorbell.
Basically it would be the equivalent to using OpenCV to identify a face within a video stream.
So I am looking for the equivalent of an OpenCV library for audio (rather than images/video).  Or perhaps some cloud-based solution -- although I have not see anything on AWS or Azure.
HI, we have multiple data centre networks for hosting Windows IIS web based .NET framework applications and  and would like  any recommendations on a good cost effective Web based cloud application stress tool, ideally we want to test the application for 50 to a 1000 simultaneous users. This is not a website, the app must be able to test the application post login. then report findings.

Alternatively we could install software on a server we own to test other servers on different cloud networks.

Is it possible to customize the "look and feel", layout, etc for Amazon AWS's SAML Federation Landing Page?

When we signin to our company "federation page" it redirects us to "" (as it should), which displays all of
our AWS accounts/AWS Roles to sign into. However, it's ugly and not really organized/categorized in any way (so you have to always scroll up/down
to find the account you want or do a "Ctrl-F").

I know we can customize our first landing page (company federation landing page), but can we change anything for the redirect/second SAML landing page?
I would like to check if data at rest encryption is turned on in my Isilon cluster.

From what I have read Isilon does it automatically with the use of SED (Self encrypting drives).

Is my understanding correct?

And how can I check if the drives on my system are self encrytping?

Also if we setup cloudpools then how can we make sure that data will be encrypted on the cloudpool side as well?
We are thinking of using cloudpools to archive data to a third party provided storage service.

The third uses Isilon cluster on their side as well to provide storage for use with cloudpool.

I have read that if cloudpool is being used with another Isilon as the archive location then no cloudpool license is required. Following article says "The CloudPools license for using either another Isilon cluster or EMC ECS will be free to customers." :-

What’s New in Isilon OneFS 8.0 | GeekFluent

Also, one of the EMC documentation mentions the same thing.

But the third party vendor is saying we need the license and the config options for cloudpool are greyed out in our system.

Please advise if this is possible without the license requirement?
I need to set up a Bridge Server for WebsphereMQ transaction queues to facilitate communication between two servers which are being hosted by external providers.  In my environment I need to establish MQ communications for long term transactions with two servers that are being managed by two different external providers.  Both servers are in the cloud and so are on the other side of our firewalls and direct communication cannot be established between providers, all communications are through my network.
The question is how to set up a bridge server to capture messages from server 1 and forward them to server 2 as well a send replies and acknowledgements back?
We have 3 windows VM's in a data centre in london
recently they  have had issues and some down time, so we are looking at migrating to azure, however i'm very confused about pricing and which products i need
I've tried 3 seperate sales calls to microsoft, and no ones calls me back after the initial call

I'm hoping to get advice here, let me list what i have first

VM1. Web server (windows 2016 server) running IIS with 4gb ram
- I've read i dont need a dedicated vm to host an application, can anyone suggest what i need?

VM2. DB Server - sql server 2016 with 24gb ram
- I'm confused by azure sql server vs sql database and I understand a dedicated vm running sql server will be expensive, so would rather a sql server 2016 instance which will host 2 DB's (or 2 instances)
the 1 db will be small, the other will be large (its currently at 100gb and growing)

VM3. Gateway - this vm runs 5 console apps (exe files) and needs access to microsoft message queue, it has 6gb ram and a good cpu and it crunches data continually

can anyone help me with suggestions on what to do / have for the above instead of 3 azure vm's which will be expensive

I am analysis a new project which try to move oracle DB to the cloud, MS SQL + Azure or Maria DB + cloud, which one is good ? which one you prefer and why ?

which one allow us to debugs easier ?
Dear Techmates,

Can any one suggest the best Monitoring & Reporting Tool (Ex:vRops) for VIO-VMware Integrated OpenStack .

Hi All,
 I am using Graphana on Elasticsearch to show % pass/fail in weekly reports, I can get Pass/Fail  from the Pie chart but not in Stacked bar graph ..
Is there any plugin which i can use to get the pass fail percentage in Bar Graph.

How do I seamlessly move workload such as my VMwares into AWS EC2s or AWS containers.. and seamlessly move them back into VMware on my data centre premise using any tool out there - will be only using AWS for now.
Hello Experts,

I have run a hql called samplehive.hql, see attached. However, the script fails with the following error:

FAILED: ParseException line 1:2 cannot recognize input near 'D' 'R' 'O'
18/01/17 20:46:46 [main]: ERROR ql.Driver: FAILED: ParseException line 1:2 cannot recognize input near 'D' 'R' 'O'
org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.parse.ParseException: line 1:2 cannot recognize input near 'D' 'R' 'O'

I'm very new to Hadoop Hive, can someone take a look at the script and let me know where I'm going wrong

As I have mentioned in one of my previous questions, as a business were are now procuring more and more cloud services.
I’m trying to examine our procedures and governance to make sure that we procure cloud solutions that are fit for purpose and secure.
One of the controls I have thought of is to have a central repository of our cloud providers as we already have numerous different suppliers and I don’t think as a business we have one go to document that shows the provider of the cloud solution hosting our data, an emergency contact, location of data etc etc.  I have been reading through best practice guides and frameworks but I can’t see anything that suggested that this is something that should be implemented.
It seems like a good idea to me but can anyone point me in the direction to any best practice, frameworks, guides etc that support this to take to management as a bit of backup.
Is it something that is done in your own businesses?
Are there any real benefits to this and are there any risks to not implementing such a control?

Unless of course you feel this is not a worthwhile control to have in place, in which please feel free to say.
I’m about to start some work looking at how our business procures cloud services.
We are a large business with many different departments and an in-house IT team.

We already have some of our systems hosted via SaaS and these have followed correct procedures in terms of ensuring data is appropriately secured etc.
My concern is that some departments might be going off and procuring cloud services with no input or support from IT.  This obviously poses several high risk issues, especially when you consider some of the data may be private, confidential or commercially sensitive and as such needs to be carefully controlled.

I have two questions:
1)      How do other businesses mange the procurement of cloud services to ensure that appropriate security and governance issues have been considered and how can you control this to ensure that individual departments can’t just go and do this themselves with no IT/Business input.
2)      How can we determine if we have any data out there in the cloud that we are centrally unaware of and that have had no corporate input.  I’m thinking of analysing our finance system to determine if any payments have been made to cloud providers, this might not be easy as not all providers have obvious names.  Reviewing our contracts registers to identify any cloud providers.  Reviewing corporate credit cards for similar to see if anything has been purchased on credit cards.

The aim of this is to ensure there are suitable frameworks/procedures/policies…

I am new to Hadoop.  I have a question regarding yarn memory allocation.  If  we have 16GB memory in cluster,  we can have least 3 4GB cluster an keep 4 GB for other uses.  If a job needs 10 GB RAM, would it use 3 containers or  use one container and will start using the ram rest of the RAM ?

i am able to create multiple vm instances and also multiple additional disks (boot_disk is working fine on each instance) but I want to be able to attach those additional disks to each vm accordingly without having to have individual resource adds for each vm (if that makes sense!).

the code I have so far is (which works ok for building multiple compute instances and also multiple additional disks): note (I have commented out the attached_disk which errors atm)

*** START ***

variable "node_count" {
  default = "3"

resource "google_compute_disk" "test-node-1-index-disk-" {
    count   = "${var.node_count}"
    name    = "test-node-1-index-disk-${count.index}-data"
    type    = "pd-standard"
    zone    = "${}"
    size    = "5"
resource "google_compute_instance" "test-node-" {
    count = "${var.node_count}"
    name = "test-node-${count.index}"
    machine_type = "${var.machine_type}"
    zone = "${}"

    boot_disk {
    initialize_params {
    image = "${var.image}"
#    attached_disk {
#        source      = "${google_compute_disk.test-node-1-index-disk-(count.index)}"

I am currently setting up a training room where I want everything to be automated. I have door style windows on a slanted roof that currently needs to be opened manually. The problem is that the windows are very high, and it is not practical to try and open them manually.

They are side hung escape windows with wooden frames and dimensions 660x1180mm.

I want to convert the windows so they can open automatically, preferably using a remote or voice commands using my SmartThings hub or Amazon Alexa. Would this be possible?

Would you be able to guide me to the type of window opener/actuator that would best suit my window and what else I would need to get to be able to use my SmartThings hub or IFTTT event triggering.

Any solutions would be much appreciated.
