We have a site with approximately 18 work spaces and randomly users are not able to connect using the Amazon client to their workspaces. They get the login window and then the session tries to open with a message of connecting... for about 10 seconds and then it fails and goes back to the AWs client login screen and sometimes they get in after 3 tries sometimes after 10. Other times they connect without any issues.

When this happens they can connect immediately using RDP without any login issues but performance is very slow and RDP is not a recommended client for WorkSpaces.

We have excluded network issues and have replicated the issues outside of their network.

Anybody know how to fix this?  I can't do anything with this file except rename it.
I have a few servers in the cloud hosted by softlayer.. I didnt realize it was going to cost that must to setup a site to site from the office to my cloud servers. What options are out there to bridge this craziness by softlayer. I would like to have my office servers to be able to talk to the cloud servers and vice versa with no limitations.
While i was researching this, I ran into couple of solutions that I think may help me ( and Not sure how to this would work though.. Thanks.
Hi team, our company manages our own internal servers via our internal Microsoft DNS/AD service. We are connected to our AWS VPC via an IPSEC VPN tunnel.

If our company name is ,  we want a particular subdomain of that , i.e. starting  with the subdomain called  to be delegated to a DNS server in our AWS VPC.
Specifically, from inside our company,  we need to access our ELB in AWS via this URL --> We need all our internal users to have that URL redirected to which is the address of our ELB in AWS.

I understand that we need to define a CNAME for that in our corporate Windows DNS server,   but is not resolving to any IP.  It  only resolves when we do nslookup of that name from home,   and doesn't work when we are inside our corporate network.

However, we want AWS to return the INTERNAL (for example, address of that ELB via our IPSEC tunnel to our VPC and not return its public IP, as we do not want our requests to go through the public internet.   We have already configured our ELB as an internal load balancer.

I have looked at some Route 53 services of AWS but it is talking more about how our AWS instances can resolve to our own corporate IPs, which is the opposite of …
Hello. I am trying to access Elastic Search Server on AWS.
1. What would the ssh be to access the Elastic Search Server?
2. Once I am able to access it where would I place a python script in order to feed data into the Elasticsearch server?

I tried

PS C:\Users\hpBill> ssh root@search-wbcelastic-*******
but just get this:

ssh.exe": search-wbcelastic-********** no address associated with name
I have this information
Domain status
Domain ARN

I need to setup cluster on SUSE Enterprise 12 SP1. Please guide how to get the package and configure the failover cluster.

My Setup would be at AWS Cloud in two different availability zone for SAP HANA.

Any help is really appreciable.

Hi Guys,

We have a small office here (15 employees), with 2 Domain Controllers, and 1 "terminal server" for 1 employee for quickbooks. We have a big bulky network rack with a firewall and want to get rid of it. We want to move to the Cloud

1) The only application we use internally is Quickbooks, and open up pdf/words docs on the server.
2) Do we need to keep a local domain controller on site?
3) I plan on moving all the users to a CLoud hosted terminal server, where they can log in and work from there.
4) PLanning on having dual WAN connections for redundancy.

Any thoughts?

I have a single Ec2 instance on a VPC with an elastic IP which I host a web application on. It runs on Windows sever 2012. I remote desktop to the server to manage it.

I recently setup a customer gateway, a virtual private gateway and a VPN to the VPC my host runs on from our corporate network using the following guide

I passed the config file it generated over to our network team but I soon realised the connection over the external/elastic IP went down. I can no longer ping, RDP or access the web application.

I've reversed the changes by deleting the customer gateway, virtual private gateway and VPN but the connection has not come back up.
I cannot seem to figure out how to get this back up and running again.

Thanks for any help
Dear sirs,
I just discovered something that I believe can solve a lot of my problems. The thing is Amazon Web Services AppStream.
My idea is to run my Java Desktop Application in the Cloud using AWS AppStream.
I wonder if anyone did this before.
Any comments, inputs will be very much appreciated.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

How can I assign a fixed IP to an Openstack Linux vm and that the instance IP will not change after reboot.  Currently we have DHCP setup for spinning up vm instances.
I created a instance and tried to install ubuntu on it.

During the install i am getting "No disk driver was detected" I am unable to continue.

I created Reversed DNS for my domains.

The main domain is with Name server and

I configure some subdomains from: mail01.domain1 to

Then I add the new virtual Machine, with domain name:

I create the subdomains again from to with reversed ip.

I have each ip for each sub domains.

By the way, when dig the subdomains of the, they are all resolved to first domain.

$ dig -x xxx.xx.xx.xx +short

(xxx.xx.xx.xx is the ip reversed for

I really don't understand why. I tried to delete all and created again but still the same result.

Here is my situation.
My cloud storage keeps telling me that it's full every time it tries to sync. I finally figured out that for

some reason my files/pictures that are saved onto my computer are syncing to cloud storage also. I

don't want the files on my computer to store on my Verizon Cloud! I can't figure out how to turn this off

and I already contacted Verizon via live chat and they actually told me to wipe my entire phone with a

hard reset to fix it. 1, I doubt that would make any difference in the cloud storage settings and 2, even if

it did, that's the most ridiculous advice I can imagine getting! Every time my photos/data that's stored

on my phone tries to backup to the cloud it's unsuccessful and tells me my storage is full. Every time it

does this I delete the entire "my computer" folder and my used storage drops back down to only 55%

full instead of 100% full. I can't backup anything new from my phone though because it's automatically

syncing my computer files to my phone before it even attempts to backup what's on my phone. Any

help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated since Verizon can't figure it out either. I'm adding

screen shots of exactly what I see in case it helps someone to help me. Thank in advance for any ideas!! verizon screen shot 1verizon screen shot 2verizon-cloud-screenshot-3.png
If I am trying to set up a DMZ for about 70 to 90 servers on EC2 can I have one VPC and just apply different security groups?
Recently, we performed some test to evaluate the performance of our application with DB in multi-az. Basically, we planned to test to the performance of RDS in multi-AZ. Our applications are sitting in one AZ and we tested the app performance with DB in same AZ and DB in another availability zone.

Basically compared the same zone to multiple zones seems to add about a %25 reduction in our performance when comparing how many messages we were able to process per minute in a remote zone instance as compared to a same zone instance.  This is based on a test where the only change was that in one case the db was in the same zone as the application servers and in the second case the db was in a remote zone.

Could someone please let me would AWS be able to help here, because as per my understanding they just claim that AZs are connecting with low latency links but doesn't provide any SLA.
Hi Expert,

I would like to change current hosting to Google Compute Engine. All my domain names setting name server to ( and I don't want to change name server setting to google name server. I would like to know is there any possible way configure the same setting on google compute engine as I really don't want to touch the customer domain name setting. I really appreciate all reference and suggestion.

Cloud computing is evolving and is becoming matured industry, it is clear that in future demand will grow a the data will multiply by many folds. How it will be possible to manage such huge data and how can we take steps for managing that? Will there be any problem in the cloud? Will my data be safe in future? Please share your insights on this! I tried searching for answers and came across this post, but still cannot get appropriate answers.. What you think?
Hi All,

It is possible to setup an RDP server in Azure for clients to access? if so what are teh limitation\costs bedides SPLAR & Compute time?
I am trying to import my virtual box to EC2. Here are my commands and the errors I got.

Where is the problem?
Could you please help me with instructions on how to Launch an Autoscaling group in AWS environment based on Memory monitoring & other parameters.
Issues :
1. Web applications contain properties which are environment specific – same EAR cannot be deployed to another environment
2. Some properties contain sensitive information, like passwords or credentials
3. Some of properties should be dynamic, such as service endpoints

Web applications migrated to cloud.
Thinking to stored configs to database or external files (not in EAR) or using puppet is hiera.

any other options? best practice?

Using which CM tool can we do the deployment of multiple tomcats on single instance.
Actually, I'm handling a pharmaceutical client, they have 5 products. We deploy multiple tomcats on a single instance all are running separate applications.

Just wanted to automate this deployment. Is there any configuration management tool available which can be used to deploy multiple tomcats with respective applications on a single instance.

Thanks for the help.

We have a particularly unique situation so I will try to be as clear as I can be.

Project information in Nutshell:

In one of my project we need to implement some configuration management tool (Chef,Puppet,Ansible etc).
Project in Nutshell : We're supporting our client infrastructure which is completely running on AWS. They have five products which are being used by their clients. There setup is like this : 5 AWS Accounts(Prod in VA and CA Region, Dev (CA Region), Demo(CA Region), UAT(CA Region) these all are running in EC2- Classic. All the instance are running on Amazon Linux and each instance running multiple tomcats, each tomcat is hosting their different application which their client is using(Shared environment). These are customizable application based on client requirements. For each client they request us to setup a similar environment in DEV account. On the Front end we've Apache which is redirecting the requests to the respective application server based on it's vhost entry.

For their two other products we've setup a dedicated environment in VPC. In each VPC only that specific product is running. We've separated different schemas for each client using that product. Two applications servers running multiple tomcats+ One database server.

Till now they used to give us WAR file location. We used to download the war file and do manual deployments. Now, they requested us to set-up a Jenkins and they'll provide us access to a branch so that we've do …
I have a small branch office in Singapore that is in need of a file server.  Problem is the office is too small to invest in the infrastructure and security equipment necessary to install a physical infrastructure.  That and the fact that they are renting shared office space with a network shared with another company (they are basically using the other companies network for internet access only).  They currently are refusing to save and access documents from our EU data center, due to the latency VPN causes from Singapore.

I have given thoughts to setting up an AWS infrastructure (Amazon has an AWS infrastructure in SG) and allowing them to VPN to a Windows file server within, but AWS isn't quite secure enough for my taste just yet.  Plenty of monitoring and IDS options, but no active IPS yet that offers the security our clients would require.  There are a couple solutions on the horizon that remedy this, but not for a while.

So for now, I need some form of a highly secure file sharing solution that the users can access from their PC's (again, no infrastructure there).  If one exists.  Thanks.
