Cloud services are services made available to users via the Internet from a provider's servers. Cloud services are designed to provide easy, scalable access to applications, resources and services, and are fully managed by a cloud services provider. It is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Frequently offered cloud services are infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), desktops-as-a-service (DaaS), software-as-a-service (SaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Examples of cloud services include online data storage and backup solutions, Web-based e-mail services, hosted office suites and document collaboration services, database processing, managed technical support services and more.

Looking to migrate towards a Hybrid Cloud, but first need to get inventory and visualization of our Environment.

Any suggestions on what kind of questions I should ask when looking for this service?

All answers are good answers to me as I will research further, but I'm currently working on a list of questions for vendors.

I am moving my onPremise Exchange 2010 mailbox to Cloud. AD users has been synchronized to Cloud and company mail domain has been setup. However, I haven't setup the MX, spf at this stage.

Try to configure the Exchange Hybrid setup on my server but encounter the following problem. Any idea ?  I have a mailbox database role on one server, CAS and Hub Transport on another server. Fortigate firewall is used to match the external to internal CAS. Wizard certificate is deployed.

How to fix my problem ? As I will finally phrase out my server, should all the mails go through Cloud first and then local server. Any more guideline on the hybrid configuration ?

Thx

We are working on a project for storing large raw video to archive as well as for editing for production distribution at some point.  We'd really like to utilize a cloud storage solution but need easy and convenient access to the files when needed.  Obviously access control / security built in as well.  Need some recommendations.  Thanks.

Hey I am trying to find a cloud based server for my organization. I live in Canada so i believe the database's physical location needs to be on Canadian soil for legal reasons. Currently I am trying out Sync.com and I like it but if two people have open the same file, it creates a duplicate file when saved. Is there a way in the files to make it so says read only if it is already opened?

I've seen a Squarespace website that has a BOOK AN APPOINTMENT button that links to https://abcchiropractor.janeapp.com/.   janeapp.com has acquired cloud storage and has created a subdomain for the business abcchiropractor.  They've also associated a function with the storage that books appointments after referring to a database, etc.  They say they've also created a Charting function that lets doctors keep charts on individual patients.

I want to do something similar, where my clients can have their own space in a cloud where they can describe an idea that they want to develop and bring to market. So after logging in to their cloud area, they could upload videos that described themselves and their idea, as well as images and documents. This could all be viewed by other people, like potential investors.

I'm looking for a development platform that would do as much of the heavy lifting here as possible. My initial thought is to start with a Squarespace site.  From there the client would log into their cloud area and upload what they wanted to their private space.   Does anyone know of a platform that might work for me here?

Thank you!

What is the best solution for Citrix Cloud, Azure HSD Workloads and O365 with One Drive integration?
Like for 200 Users,  Citrix cloud and Azure AD, Express route, Azure Windows 2016 Server VMs as Citrix Work loads, O365 with One Drive as Profile storage.
On-Prem apps will publish.
Challenge is One drive integration. For On-Prem we have File Director, Cloud Drive solutions.
For Citrix Cloud and Azure, do we have any such solutions?
Please suggest.

I need to migrate a client from Dropbox to Google Drive and am looking for a utility to do a cloud to cloud sync. I've looked at a dozen or so apps that do what I'm looking for, but choosing one seems like a crapshoot. They all seem to have some type of limitation, either low data caps, bandwidth throttling, lack of technical support. I'm hoping someone can recommend an app or service you've actually used or have confidence in. It doesn't have to be free.

This is to move approximately 700 GB of data and would be a one-time sync. Dependability, speed, trustworthiness, and support are the key things I'm looking for. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Experts;
We are asked by our customer to look into VMWare Velocloud Deployment for SDWAN, can you please shine some light on:
1. Does it always need to have uCPE as the branch routers or can it work w/ Cisco routers?
2. Can we get some 95% Percentile traffic statistics from VEP4600 controller ?
3. Any other point that you point that you might want to highlight esp. about NFV..

Some documentation would be highly appreciated.

Thanks;

Dynamics 365 Online, CRM 2013 on prem, SQL Azure

We are upgrading a CRM 2013 system to D365 Online.  The 2013 system has several SQL Procs that currently write information to the CRM 2013 system.  I stood up an Azure environment and imported one SQL proc (and associated database) into Azure.

I can now query the database associated with the SQL proc, run the sp commands, query the database.  It now functions like the SQL Proc and database that writes to CRM 2013

I am now not sure how to use the SQL Proc/database on Azure with Dynamics 365 Online.

How do I replicate the process where the SQL proc writes data to CRM 2013  and then use this in D365?

Is this a job for Scribe or KingswaySoft?

Please advise.

Looking for research, links/opinions on Okta vs.  Azure AD.
What is it Okta can do or do better than Azure?  Would you need Okta if you already have Azure implemented?
Is it better for provisioning/de-provisioning accounts, apps?   Better on doing SSO/MFA?  Is Okta better than Azure?

Please advice if anyone dealt with both.  Thanks in advance!

I am having trouble getting the BlockDownloadOfAllFilesForGuests setting set for my Sharepoint/Onedrive account.  The feature is detailed here: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/39497.onedrive-for-business-sharing-settings-with-powershell.aspx?Redirected=true#Block_Download

I am using Sharepoint Online Management Shell version 16.0.8316.0.

I have downloaded and installed the latest COM  from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42038
using file sharepointclientcomponents_16-6906-1200_x64-en-us.msi

After downloading the script from this page, https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Block-of-all-files-for-2ad7a0db, and following its instructions I am getting the error below:

Exception calling "ExecuteQuery" with "0" argument(s): "Updating this tenant property is currently disabled."

Does anyone know Azure licenses features EMS E5 vs. P1 license.  Seems they are offering same options.

Also, would it make sense to have a chunk of users of one license and the rest on another.  It would be hard to manage I think.

Thoughts?

What are the best azure tools to move data from a data center in the US to a UK region Azure tenant?

I have a  Dallas TX data center that I am trying to move out of and into a UK region Azure tenant. The big question is how to keep the data flowing. We have talked about getting an Azure Data Box for the 5TB of static data that can wait, but we have some SQL servers that have a total data footprint of about 400GB that we may need to refresh several times during this exercise.

What do the experts think the best way to move our SQL server data is? We are looking at just *,baks and *.trns as we have some columns that are VARCHAR(MAX) and may have some BLOBs in our databases. We are also very hesitant to turn on anything that requires SQL replication to work. Our only big challenge at the moment is how to get our data across the wire and to the UK.

We were thinking if we just got the data into Azure blob storage, that we could then just pull that down in the UK. I was also thinking this may be our best option as the Microsoft CDN is probably going to outperform any type of link we configure. We also have word docs that are actively used that would need to trickle over. We also have the ability on these to find all related files that have changed within N hours.

Does azure have a utility that we could install on a server or VM in our Dallas data center that would just push this to Azure blob and we can put the same type of appliance in our UK tenant and pull from the …

First I have reviewed a few different solutions listed on Experts Exchange, but none seem to work, this is why I am posting this question.

Cannot connect to a network share across sub-domains.  History on situation:  Setup TEST AD (192.168.0.05). My IT staff and I we looking at applying a AD for Desktop security.
We joined about 5 computer all IT staff.
When the AD was active we all could share data across the subnets.
Worked great but when we went to Office 365 we decided to no use local AD and demoted our Domain server after dis-joining our computers.
So we are all using work groups.
Now as long as everyone is in the 0.X sub net they can see the shares in that sub-domain, but are unable to connect to the 30.X shares, and visa versa the 30.x users cannot see anything in the 0.x sub domain.
I tested the same situation on the 30.X sub domain and I am able to share across 30.x subnet but the 0.x subnet cannot connect.
I am looking for any type of suggestions to help?

My router does not have any rules for sub nets.
Our work stations are connected as a workgroup.
We are not using anything in the AD except we are connected to Office 365, we have not implemented Azure.

Hello,

We are looking for ways to integrate our local AD with a saas application (Zixs). This is a mail filter solution that will be used to filter inbound/outbound mail flow. The users will have a site that they will use to authenticate to release their spam. We want them to use their AD user and password to authenticate to the site and get to their spam. The vendor mentioned they support LDAP and secure LDAP but I am not sure what my options are to get this integration done.

We use on premise AD running on windows 2012 DCs.

Thank you!

I'm a current office 365 subscriber interested in purchasing more One Drive for Business storage space (above the 1TB limit that I currently have) to store Veeam Server 2016 backups in the cloud.

What website resources are available that describe how much more it will cost to purchase additional Office 365 One Drive for Business storage space?
