Cloud services are services made available to users via the Internet from a provider's servers. Cloud services are designed to provide easy, scalable access to applications, resources and services, and are fully managed by a cloud services provider. It is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Frequently offered cloud services are infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), desktops-as-a-service (DaaS), software-as-a-service (SaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Examples of cloud services include online data storage and backup solutions, Web-based e-mail services, hosted office suites and document collaboration services, database processing, managed technical support services and more.

I am running Windows 10, and using Outlook 365, which I used to regularly sync with my iPhone using iTunes.  I have never worked with the Cloud storage for Outlook, always working with my local PST file.  Recently my iTunes refused to sync with my local Outlook file, and after trying to resolve the problem it appears as though I should be switching to the Cloud for my Outlook and the syncing.  But when I went to my iCloud settings to tell it to backup my Outlook, I got the following error message - with no instructions for how to set up Outlook for the "default profile".  I don't want to lose my perfectly functioning Outlook email, Contacts, and Calendar.  Please advise.

iCloud error

Thanks,

Phil

I have a Gmail mailbox attached to an user in G-Suite that's in the name of an organisation, not a person's name, so the "FirstName LastName" format doesn't apply. Google doesn't allow for one of these fields to be blank either, so just to get around this, I've had to put the first half the org name in First Name, and other other half in Last Name. But is there a way around this? I can't imagine I'm the only one faced with this problem.

I can change from "First Last" to "Last, First", but this doesn't help because I cannot have the First or Last fields blank.

We have a Synology NAS and would like to do a daily cloud backup.

I am looking for a suggestion as to the overall best cloud server.

We do our local backups using Hyper Backup and it seems to work OK.

I have tried using Hyper Backup to AWS cloud. For me, not a good solution.

We have about 2000 gigs of data with about 400 megs getting modified daily.

This whole external cloud backup is new to me.

I have O365 Business Premium and a lot of data in the Business OneDrive
I have a new Win 10 Home laptop and can connect to that Work account OK.
HOWEVER, in the Users\dmacl\Documents\OneDrive, the what is displayed is the Personal OneDrive generated automatically.

How can I get that reference replaced with the correct one pointing to the Business OneDrive?

Cloud Services Terminology

I have read about Cloud Services Terminology : https://www.bigcommerce.com/blog/saas-vs-paas-vs-iaas/#the-key-differences-between-on-premise-saas-paas-iaas

it does not cover the case where everything is On-Premises, except for Azure Active Directory and  Office 365  ,
local Active Directory is connected to Azure AD.

How do we call this type of Service? is it Saas ?

Thank you

Our auditors subscribe to Teammate SaaS Prod in the cloud.
Teammate also offers a QA/UAT SaaS in the cloud.

Q1:
Under what circumstances would sites out there subscribe
to QA/UAT  Teammate SaaS?

Q2:
What's Teammate QA/UAT used for?   Is there any development
work for Teammate that needs to be done in UAT 1st before
being ported over to Prod Teammate?

Q3:
I've heard of our parent company's  audit dept uses on-prem
Teammate & have both QA/UAT plus Prod environments?
not convenient to ask the auditors, but curious what it's for

When you buy office 365 subscription, it comes with 1TB OneDrive. I also have Carbonite online backup where I pick and choose which folders I want to back up. It seems to me that I can cancel Carbonite subscription and just synchronize folders using One Drive.
Is there a problem with idea?

OneDirve for business ...  My BB speeds are approx 50 meg

It was working OK with a gig or so of data ...

I decided to move my photos / videos in of approx 250 gig.
Now I realise thats a lot. But a week later and I left my laptop on over night a few times and it still wasnt complete or any whwre near it
Got a mixture of messages / excuses saying sync resources low etc

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled One Drive ap and it says  Processing and is on a count down and at about 5000 and getting lower.
Presume when it hits 0 it starts up loading what it doesnt have in the Cloud

Anyway, whats your experience of OneDrive?
Is it fast?
Is it stable?
etc ...

I recently upgraded from aniPhone 7 plus to an 11 Pro MAx. All my data was on iCloud which transferred to the new phone, or so I thought. When I look at the 8000 or so photos and videos, some appear to be on my new phone and open up immediately, some I get a message that the phone needs to download the file first before it opens.

I want to make sure that all my data is residing locally on my new iPhone. How do I accomplish this?

I'm trying to configure a rule in Cisco CES cloud platform the stops people masquerading as the CEO
for attempted Phishing. So on our previous FW we had if the mail has the sender as 'our ceo' but does not come from
our Domain, then drop. I can see where to configure this in the CES.

Looking for help getting my Sonicwall logs files to upload the the Microsoft Azure Cloud App Security system. I am trying to setup the Sonicwall's so they forward their logs to MS to be analyze. I need to have a forwarding machine installed to do this. They have a Docking image of Linus, but I can't seem to get it to work. My working knowledge Linux is pretty limited. I have been using this article as a reference: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/cloudready/2018/03/07/configure-microsoft-cloud-app-security-to-analyze-sonicwall-logs/. Thanks

We have 2TB of archived files that we want to move to Cloud storage. The current 2 TB of files will increase as we archive more data, so for now we would need 2.5 to 3 TB of space.

We will need users to be able to access the files (read only) as needed and be able to download from the archive as needed.

Azure file storage is to expensive at this time.

Do not want to use AWS because we are using Azure for Cloud backup and will eventually use Azure for file storage.

Other than Dropbox, can anyone recommend another Cloud storage solution for storing these files.

Thanks,
cja

I use Acronis. The basic way it works is that it does a full then incrementals thereafter. It will only keep a certain number of incrementals at which point it merges the oldest incremental in to the full thus creating a new full. The sync program would have do to it by "block" or whatever you want to call it or it will continually be trying to sync the huge full backup every day.

The perfect way to do it would be to back up nightly to a NAS or big External Hard Drive and then sync that hard drive or NAS to the cloud. Same issue with merging the oldest incremental in to the last full thus creating a new full. So does anyone know of a sync program that is "block" aware of wherever you want to call it?

Acronis wants almost $900 for 1TB of Cloud Storage for 1 year. Isn't that a little outrageous? Why would I want to do that when my OneDrive account has 1TB for free?

What could Acronis's cloud storage bring to the party that would justify that? (Yes it will be used on a server running their backup software).

I have an organization that is looking to keep all their files in the cloud on all their computers.  The one thing that is unusual is that they want all the desktops and documents to be shared with each other so there really is no need to keep anything private within the organization but completely collaborative.  (Its only 4 computers)  So I figured that maybe there would be four folders in a cloud share named Computer1, Computer2,Computer3,Computer4.   Then within each of those folders there will be a desktop and documents folder.  Locally on each machine I would make the location for desktop and documents to its corresponding cloud folder.  Then everyone can see each others information from their cloud drive.  This is exactly what OneDrive does already, however, they want everything on the computers to be collaborative.

The question I have is what's the best approach?  They currently have both G Suite and Office 365.  Should I setup the file structure that I just mentioned in G drive and then call it a day?  Is this possible to accomplish through SharePoint?  Is there one advantage over the other or is there a problem with this setup?

Thanks!
