Is there a way to customise the format of the Skype Meeting request text that appears when setting up the meeting in Outlook.
I would like to separate the text and clean it up a bit.
e.g.
Toll Number:        +61nnnn
Conference ID:     61216546

At the moment, it includes the phone number and conference ID in a single string, as per below.
Current Skype Meeting format

We are transitioning to Skype for Business from an older product called Spark.  With Spark it is fairly easy for each user to populate their own
groups with contacts that are saved and used to IM thru skype.  How can we populate groups without adding them one user at a time. We have some fairly large
groups

Hi,

We have had Skype for a few years.

We are interested in purchasing Skype for Business and installing on a Windows 10 PC.

Before we do so, we would like to know:

- What are the differences between Skype and Skype for Business
- How much does Skype for Business cost
- Where to buy Skype for Business
- Can a person with Skype for Business call someone using Skype and vice versa
- Can the same Skype for Business account be used on any Windows PC in different locations
- Do we need an Office 365 account or can we use Skype for Business without it
- Can Skype for Business be used in a location with low bandwidth

We appreciate your support with the above.

Thanks,
Robbie

Hi,

We am looking for a camera to buy for our conference/ meeting room which will be used with Skype for business.

The conference room includes a conference table which seats 4-6 people (2 on right of table and 2 on left) and a 55 inch display mounted on a TV stand beside the wall about 4 foot from the table.

We may also need a microphone on the meeting room table for the Skype calls.

1. What would you recommend as the best camera to buy for this room?

2. Is there any other products you would recommend to use with the camera you recommended?

Thanks,
Robbie

Hi,

We have a Skype account for our company.

We sign in with our company email address to access our Skype account on our Windows 10 Pro PC.

For people to get in contact with us, they usually request a Skype ID.

Our Skype ID displays as something like the following: live:" "_(numbers)

We would like to change this as it does not look professional.

How do we change the Skype Name/ID for our Skype account?

We are aware we can change the display name for the account but the Skype ID is needed for people to search for our company on Skype.

Thanks,
Robbie

We are just starting to use Skype For Business for Internal IM.   We have setup Skype For Business to not allow External Contacts to be added. We didn't want Employees to start chatting with Friends and Family while at work.

We are looking to get rid off WebEx for Presentations and wanted to use Skype For Business, though it looks like we can't Invite Customers to the Meetings since we blocked External Access.

Is there a Way to Block External Users for IM, though Allow Inviting External Customers for Presentations?

Thanks!

Is there a Microsoft tool for testing Skype for Business video performance?  There exists for audio NetworkAssessmentTool.ext which allows you to make hundreds of simulated skype audio calls and gain insight into network preparedness for audio. Is there any similar tool that looks at Skype for Business online video?

We have 2 x Skype Room systems and 1 x POlycom Trio 8800 visual+.  We use on prem exchnage (2010) but have Skype For Business deployed via Office 365.
How can we allow executive Assistants to schedule meeting between these devices and external parties (ie provide a Skype Meeting ID).

For example:

EA schedule s a meeting on behalf of her executive, the meeting needs a skype ID, she has the plugin installed but is not signed ion to SKype.
How do we get this to work?

What is the best time length for an online seminar?

I plan to give a live seminar that I expect will take up the morning, perhaps from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

But I want to offer this via the web also. It will be live, but wonder if people have different expectations for webinars?

I have been told it should be no longer than 2 hours. But this would force me to make a shorter version of the seminar, and I wold need to take out important information.

What are your thoughts about the length and if I really should reduce the amount of content?

Or, if I take breaks and let people stretch, is three hours of sitting about the same, regardless of where it is?

Thanks

We use Skype for Business and it's in the O365 portal.  Our Exchange server is on-prem and our AD is on-prem.  All we use the cloud for is the S4B licenses.

We are noticing that some users don't have pictures and some do.  It's random, and, they use to have pictures.  It's odd and I've been tasked with trying to find out why random users don't have pics.

For the most part, users upload their pics thru OWA and that's worked fine.

Does anyone know where I would start to troubleshoot this issue?  Do I start in the cloud?  On-prem?  Outlook?  AD?

Just looking for a good starting point from someone who has seen this before.

Thanks

Cliff

What optional technologies are there for secure video streaming?

I am planning to give a seminar business, but like the idea of protecting y seminar.

I have this URL:

https://www.vdocipher.com/

What other related tools are there for me to compare against this one.

And do I still need a service like GoToMeeting? Are there conflict between some services with this encryption serivce?

Thanks

Skype (Windows 10). The Video Button has disappeared from its position on right side top - alongside the telephone icon. Have tried for answers without success. What does this signify?
Has it anything to do with paying money.  It is not a problem with my computer, as I have opened the account on a second computer with same result.

Dear Experts, can you suggest the pros and cons of Skype for Business? Does it have these features in Broadcast mode?
- Share file
- Share screen
- Control screen

Compared to other opponent like ClickMeeting, Zoom, Webex; what are its advantages and disadvantages? Many thanks!

I am more looking for suggestions.  We are a portable church, meaning we setup and tear down every week, but we have use of multiple rooms in a building.  We want to be able to "stream" our service from the main auditorium to another location in the building.  I was planning on doing this via Facebook Live, but there are those above me that do not want to do this.  They prefer to keep it local, meaning we have the camera and we stream it internally.  I have access to physical cabling, so I could set this up to at least run over a network, but can anyone provide me some guidance on how I would "stream" without putting it on the internet?

In the Microsoft Call Quality reports - there is an option to view call quality
for Mobile LTE calls. How does MS Skype know that the calls are going over
Mobile LTE? Is the Skype mobile client running on a cell phone and transported
over TCP/IP over the carrier's LTE network? Or are  cell phone calls into
a Skype conference bridge but not over IP? I'm not sure what these calls are.
Their call quality percentage is by far the worst of any other classification of calls
and could contribute to the perception of Skype not being so hot.

We are using Skype for Business Online - Office 365. Thanks.

Is there any low-cost or free web conferencing tool that will allow a web-app, running on a persons computer, to generate a link so that our help desk personnel can receive the link via mail (for example) and when they click on this link they will be automatically connected to this person's computer screen and start an audio conversation with him or her. They key is here that the link should only allow screen sharing. Thus, the important thing here is that the video conferencing tool's API should be able to generate a "screen sharing only-link" and send it to the web app which then will email this link to our help desk.

What services can be restarted in Windows 7 if audio fails when joining a WebEx
conference? My system audio for mic and speakers tend to work fine for Zoom meeting
and Skype. WebEx has had problems and I have to have it call my cell phone instead of
just using the headphones on the laptop.

Polycom Soundstation 6000 not saving the Provisioning user information.  It saves the URL, but when you try to save the username and password, it "says" saved, but when you reboot or refresh the page, the credentials revert back tot the default one.  I also tried to enter it through the display (not the web UI) and same results.

I also tried to update the firmware, tried almost all of them and still same results.  Anyone have any other ideas?

Hi SFB Experts

as i understand from this link that in order to install SFB enterprise you have to have three front end servers in the pool

and in order to install SFB standard edition you have to use the built in MSSQL express inside SFB media

so what if i want to install only one front end server and use external MSSQL 2014 standard edition so technically this possible and such setup called standard or enterprise

i know front end server license is the same for stranded and enterprise only CALS play roll here but i want to know my setup is doable and under which category standard or enterprise
