Digital Cameras / Camcorders

A digital camera or digicam is a camera that encodes digital images and videos digitally and stores them for later reproduction. Most cameras sold today are digital, and digital cameras are incorporated into many devices ranging from PDAs and mobile phones (called camera phones) to vehicles. Digital and film cameras share an optical system, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device.  Digital cameras can display images on a screen immediately after being recorded, and store and delete images from memory. Many digital cameras can also record moving videos with sound. Some digital cameras can crop and stitch pictures and perform other elementary image editing.

Hi,

We were recommended Logitech Group HD to use in meeting room for video conferencing.

We have Skype for Business and use a Windows 10 PC in our meeting room.

Here are our requirements for the video conferencing solution:

- Up to date, i.e. released 2019 - 2020 (2020 preferred if very good)
- Good quality
- Flexible
- Offers more than standard webcam for a PC.
- Can pick up sound from all different directions
- Works with Skype for Business and other relevant platforms
- Budget: €500 - €1800

What would you recommend that would be similar or better than Logitech Group HD?

Thanks,

I am using this sheet to start doing some camera research.

I am looking for a camera at amazon.com that will allow me to be notified when a human is detected.
I don't need facial recognition as much as just 'human recognition'.
Ideally, I would just like to be notified, when a human presence is detected.

I am looking for a reasonably inexpensive but effective way to resolve this.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ10 Digital Camera (see here)and although old and only 12MP it produces very good quality images.

I have been trying to use Aperture Priority mode with centre focusing and it seems no matter how low the f-stop is set I don't seem to be able to get a low depth-of-field - everything is in focus.

Can anyone suggest what stupid thing I have overlooked ?

I am looking for an inexpensive surveillance camera, with the following specifications:
- 1080p resolution
- SD memory storage capable
- Motion detect recording
- Small size and wall-mountable

^ that's the easy criteria. :)

Now, the challenge...
- The camera must work as a standalone, without an internet connection.
- I must be able to download recordings (stored in SD memory) to a cell phone, connected to its own WiFi.

I need this camera for a remote location, far from an internet connection. But it seems that every camera I have tested requires a connection to a WiFi AP and the Internet, and also requires online registration.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Does anyone know where I can find a good Firewire to USB capture device?  I am in the process of copying the tapes from my Canon Elura 100 handy cam to my computer and my computer does not have a firewire port.  I also need a good software editing program once I get the videos to my computer.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Wizards, we are running SSM CCTV system but we could not assign camera to the correct Site as screenshot below:

cc1.PNG
cc2.PNG
For example: camera 172.28.0.110 should be added to right below Gateway Media SSM-RS30 like other cameras in the first screenshot; however it could be only added outside of SSM-RS30 like the second screenshot.

Could you please suggest? Does anyone have experience?

Hi,

We are looking for a security camera that can alert the user if motion is detected and does not take up much bandwidth.

We have Nest cameras which are on 24/7 but the problem is that they take up a lot of bandwidth.

Here is my criteria for the camera we are looking for:

- Less than €100
- Does not constantly take up bandwidth 24/7; only uses bandwidth for tasks such as notification sending, if user wishes to access pictures taken by the camera,etc.
- Does not need a subscription
- Can send a message to a person's phone when motion detected or when the camera sees someone
- Released in the past 2 years or more recently

What would be recommended as the best security camera with the above criteria?

Thanks,
Robbie

I'm trying to customize this template. Support has not been really useful.  I replaced those links with "xxx"

On the section course categories there is some columns.

<div class="col-xs-12 col-md-4 teaser_border teaser_border_column_11">
        <div class="teaser text-center  h5">
                <div class="teaser_image">
            <img src="xxx">
        </div>
                    <h5>
                    <a href="rainbow-colleges/course-category/creative-arts/">
                Creative ARts &amp; Media                   </a>
                </h5>
                    <p>
            Explore film, journalism, photography or theatre, music. Learn from the experts
 in creative arts and media...      </p>
                    </div>

        </div>
So let's say I want the whole column to hover when the cursor is on and I also want put a link on the img. which hovers too

HTML

<div class="col-xs-12 col-md-4 teaser_border teaser_border_column_11">

I have an Intel USB Video Camera III which was working fine until I installed Windows 10 64 bit on my computer. Now the camera no longer works, and is only recognized by the computer as a "USB video device". In Device Manager, under Properties, I get the following message: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful."

I then went on the Intel website to see if I could get the proper driver for the camera, and all I get there is the most unhelpful following message: "There are currently no downloads available for Intel USB Video Camera III"

Is there a way to get this camera working on a Windows 10 64 bit computer? Thank you.

Dear All,

We have installed Huawei  IPC6225-VRZ-SP Bullet IP Cameras on different location for surveillance. We are in strange situation that three cameras have been burned one by one installed on CISCO POE Switch 2960 X. All other cameras are also installed on different CISCO 2960 switches and working fine. Can any one please help to rectify the issue. This is due to high voltage generating by 2960 Switch or may be any other reason.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (but soon to upgrade to Note 8). When I go travelling I always take with me my trusty Nikon D7100 digital SLR with 18-85mm lens. Smartphones can take great photos these days but are still lacking due to their lens.

Conversely, my Nikon camera, although a very good camera, is heavy, cumbersome, and I also need to bring the case and charger.

Further, I can't backup to cloud, edit, or share (email, Whatsapp) my pictures directly from the SLR camera. For this I'd need to bring a laptop with me, whereas with my phone I can do these three things from the phone. Also my phone can GPS-tag the photos, whilst to do this on my Nikon I'd need to buy a separate GPS unit to attach it to the camera, thereby making it even more cumbersome.

Viewing recently taken photos on a smartphone screen is much more pleasurable, not to mention the pinch-to-zoom. Also, my phone these days has more free storage space than my camera has in total.

So, to my question... Is there a way that I can have the best of both worlds? Does there exist some sort of 'cradle', where I can attach my current Nikon lenses, and a shoulder strap, and then just slot in the phone to turn it into a fully functional DSLR camera?

As for connection between the phone and the 'thing', I initially thought WiFi, but I think that this would cause a Osh with the viewfinder, so probably USB-C would be best. Plus, with a cable you could potentially or a battery inside the thing which could be used to charge …

So we have about 12 cameras at our company that records all day every day.The 1TB drive in the Platinum dvr gets full super fast and we are unable to retreive old recordings from a couple of months back. So i was looking at some unlimited cloud backup solutions like like Crashplan and Backblaze. Now Crashplan is good as it allows me to not only backup all files but also all mapped network drives. is there a way for me to access the DVR hdd from my file server and somehow map it to my server so the backup software can upload all the recordings? Any alternatives? Any advice would be appreciated:)
