Hi Experts,

I have a simple Drupal 7 site. There is not much content or modules installed on the site. In fact, the site is fairly new. All of a sudden, every page is loading ridiculously slow. It was fine last week. The site and MySQL database reside on a server within my company's intranet. It is only being accessed internally. I have several sites and MySQL databases on the same server and they are running just fine. Again, this is all of a sudden. It's really weird.

Anything I could try to resolve this?

Hi,

Would like to ask the smartest way to control product display when getting to the page via a menu selection from the main page.

What's the best way to set up the portfolio to display, say, auto products when the user selects detail products > external finishes > waxes from the home page menu?

Ideally, the menus would be self building based on data for the individual products. :)

It would be a total kick if the pages would be self building as well, or a single page that took it's cue from the calling menu for what to display.

I'm using the Qualia theme from Neptune Themes, if that's good or bad, don't know, I'm a Drupal newbie.

Thanks!

In a Drupal 7 Omega based theme, want to have 2 boxes in content region as followings:
1. The 2 boxes have fixed distance to the bottom of browser.
2. One box is at the left side to the left side of content region.
3. The other box is at the right side to the right side of content region.

In following code, put 2 boxes within Box_Container.
The container is 100% width of content region, and is 200px from top.
How to make the container is 200px above the bottom of browser?

<style>
.Box_Container {
position: absolute;
width: 100%;
top: 200px;
}
.Left_Background {
  background-color: green;
  position: relative;
  bottom: 100px;
  height: 200px;
  width: 30%;
  float: left;
}
.Right_Background {
  background-color: blue;
  position: relative;
  bottom: 100px;
  height: 200px;
  width: 50%;
  float : right;
}
</style>

<div class="Box_Container">

<div class="Left_Background">
This is left side box.
</div>

<div class="Right_Background">
This is right side box.
</div>

</div>

Hello fellow experts,

I know that Drupal 5 is no longer supported but nevertheless we still use it, I was wondering, how do you increase the character limit for a link URL?

For example, I have an image that I would like to link to the following page;

https://web.cadca.org/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?Action=Add&ObjectKeyFrom=1A83491A-9853-4C87-86A4-F7D95601C2E2&WebCode=ProdDetailAdd&DoNotSave=yes&ParentObject=CentralizedOrderEntry&ParentDataObject=Invoice%20Detail&ivd_formkey=69202792-63d7-4ba2-bf4e-a0da41270555&ivd_cst_key=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&ivd_prc_prd_key=D216853E-01EE-4F0E-80BE-BB9A3C64DA90

But when I place it in the URL field, it gets truncated to this;

https://web.cadca.org/EWEB/DynamicPage.aspx?Action=Add&ObjectKeyFrom=1A83491A-9853-4C87-86A4-F7D95601C2E2&WebCode=ProdDetailAdd&DoNotSave=yes&ParentObject=CentralizedOrderEntry&ParentDataObject=Invoice Detail&ivd_formkey=69202792-63d7-4ba2-bf4e-a0da412705

Not including the remainder of the URL;

55&ivd_cst_key=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000&ivd_prc_prd_key=D216853E-01EE-4F0E-80BE-BB9A3C64DA90

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Darrell

In Drupal 7, for short page without too much content, the footer can move up and leave some blank space below the footer.
How to extend the footer to JUST the bottom for short page situation?
Might need JavaScript (jQuery) to dynamically get the browser height, content height.... then dynamically set zone-footer-wrapper.... to exactly the bottom of browser?

Hello,

I am new to drupal and had a theme created by a design company.   I have installed the theme, and the front page is created in mini panels.  So when i goto the mini panels page...  and under the "operations" tab...    i click the "edit" button and it goes to another page..  but i can't see anywhere that i can edit the information.  So i am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Thank you,

Rich

This can't be real.  I just added a content block to my footer region in my first custom theme.  I published it and looked at the source.  Check out how the wacky selector name and classes....

<div id="block-block-3" class="block block-block contextual-links-region">
  <div class="contextual-links-wrapper contextual-links-processed"><a class="contextual-links-trigger" href="#">Configure</a><ul class="contextual-links"><li class="block-configure first last"><a href="/testsite/admin/structure/block/manage/block/3/configure?destination=node">Configure block</a></li>
</ul></div>
  <div class="box">
    <p>123.123.123</p>
<p>123 Upper Rd | City, State | ABC 123</p>
<p>©2014 Some Company Ltd.</p>
  </div>
</div>

Open in new window

Is this really how drupal renders elements?  Why the crazy long selector and class names?  Am I missing something here?  block block-block ?  Really?  Any drupal experts out there have a minute to explain it to me?

thanks!

In a Drupal 7 website, want to have background image fixed without scrolling.
Used overflow-y:hidden to make it, but only working in Firefox.
body {
overflow-y:hidden;
}
The overflow-y seems not working in other browsers.

Is there other way like overflow-y to make background image fixed without scrolling for all browsers?

I'm new to drupal and I'm trying to make a simple content element that will rotate some text every 10 seconds or so.. I'm not 100% about the number of seconds but thats the general idea.

I've created a block with some text in it but I have no clue what to do next with it.  Can someone explain in a few sentences how it would be done?

What's the convention to take the database of a standalone PHP application, and use it on a Drupal site?

The web pages of the older PHP site is not needed, but the db is critical.

If I can use it via my Drupal site, I can recreate the front end.

I imagine it's some combination of modules that can help me?

On the admin site, I'm getting flagged to perform a database update.

When I go through the update wizard, it stalls with this error:

How should I resolve?

I want to have three related content types.

 The first has a taxonomy access control  term reference field. The second content type has a field that references the title of the first and the third is created by rules  automatically if a certain criteria is met.

Now I want the second and the third to have identical term references as  the first  automatically (without further user input) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how.

Any suggestions?

I run GTmetrix to measure my page loads. Here is a section about leveraging browser caching.

Report reccommends specifying an expiration on several image files on the site.

What's a good approach?

I am trying to build an internal site for work and  after creating the organizational structure in taxonomy I have twenty units, of which 9 are roots and 11 are subs.

I want these units to be both separated and hierarchical when it comes to access. I also want them to contribute to the same content type and I am not sure if that is possible. I can think of creating multiple similar content types and configuring each through the content access module but there might be a better way, like ... havinge one content type and restricting its access based on taxonomy whilst having the same taxonomy choices limited based on the contributor role?!

Yesterday, I installed Workbench Access and I couldn't find a way in it to restrict access or limit taxonomy but I like the moderation bit. I am guessing that what I want is a concatenation of  different modules that play nicely together, so how can I have one size to fit all if possible?

well. For example, Jeff, the 2 f there is one character.
How to make the site to not use ligature in page title?

Is there a way to turn these off?

Thanks

On our site, there is one contrib module and contrib theme we have customized. In hindsight, we should have edited copies of it and renamed it to prevent update notifications in Drupal for these two.

So after the fact, what's the best way to rename a contrib module and theme we're using?

Hello, I am curious to know what platforms and programming languages I should learn in order to get fluent with a CMS like Drupal or Wordpress

Here is a list of my own. Please underline if these languages are 100% completely necessary to build massive to build a HA Drupal site for 30K actively logged in users.

Can Microsoft sql be used instead of mysql?

Are some of the items on the list below not 100% necessary

-HTML
-Javascript
-jquery
-php
-css
-mysql

thx

Dear Expert,

When I try to recover my password - in order to manage my subscriptions - with the same email to which the Drupal.org thread notifications are sent to, Drupal site indicates that such email does not exist in Drupal system.

Could it be that after several years of inactivity with that user, that Drupal has eliminated such user account from its database?

How can I stop these notifications from coming?

Kind regards,
JP

I need a code snippet (or if there's a "Drupal" way to do it) to put a copyright in our website footer.

Copyright 2013 - 2014

...where the 2014 will change on Jan. 1, to the next year.

There is a DIV with class name home-page-rotater

It has an inline style with width and height I want to remove.

I'm having a challenge trying to find where this code sits. It's for a slide-show on a Drupal site but I can't find where it's hard coded.

So I'm thinking just to remove those two with some jQuery.  What's the best way?
