Dear experts,

I am trying to alter drupal registration form. But I am quite confused how to do it.

The first thing I am trying to do is to add some intro text to the form. To do that I added the following to my template.php file:

function adaptivetheme_subtheme_theme() {
  $items = array();
  $items['user_register_form'] = array(
    'render element' => 'form',
    'path' => drupal_get_path('theme', 'adaptivetheme_subtheme') . '/templates',
    'template' => 'user-register-form',
    'preprocess functions' => array(
    'adaptivetheme_subtheme_preprocess_user_register_form'
    ),
  );
return $items;
}

function adaptivetheme_subtheme_preprocess_user_register_form(&$vars) {
  $vars['intro_text'] = t('Join us!.');
}

Then I created a user-register.form-tpl.php to render the form like this:

<p><?php print render($intro_text); ?></p>
<div class="yourtheme-user-login-form-wrapper">
  <?php print drupal_render_children($form) ?>
</div>

Now what I want to do is to change the labels to the form in order to show differently on the user profile page. for example. In the register form I ask: Tell us about yourself (text field).  On the profile page I would like that to change that label to About Me.

Could you please please please guide me to do this? I am not sure if I should create a custom module and add the corresponding hooks… not pretty sure, I´ve been just reading couple of things that are making me even more confused.

I would greatly …

The issue I am having is that the user login URL "www.somesite.com/?q=user" was never issued a clean url such as "www.somesite.com/user".

I want to disable clean URL's and then re-enable them to try and fix the error however I do not want to mess up any of the other Clean URL's that have already been generated.

Is this a valid concern? Do I run a risk of messing up other clean URL's by doing this?

Thanks,
Joe

We're using Drupal 7.14.

We get "Warning: htmlspecialchars() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in check_plain() (line 1572 of /usr/local/www/.../.../includes/bootstrap.inc)." when we access the "Views" pages that has "exposed filters" in the filter criteria. I think this warning fires when there're multiple exposed filters...

We cannot upgrade Drupal version yet as a solution.

Views version is 7.x-3.7

I have a calendar ('Fullcalendar'), which displays the reservations in our B&B. Suddenly the reservations in july and september are not displayed anymore (They are still in the db of Drupal)
My log gives two relevant messages:
         (1)Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in BookingEvent->formatJson() (line230 van /storage/web/public/sites/www.slapeninyerseke.nl/sites/all/modules/rooms/modules/rooms_availability/includes/rooms_availability.booking_event.inc).
        (2)Warning: json_encode(): Invalid UTF-8 sequence in argument in drupal_json_encode() (regel 4997 van /storage/web/public/sites/www.slapeninyerseke.nl/includes/common.inc).

From what I find on the net this has to do with the fact(???) that Mysql uses utf-8, but that my calendar data stream is apparently different. My log displays the data as a text file as they are supposed to appear in the calendar, but I cannot find any strange characters there. See for yourself:

Rather than simply bumping up the number of rows in my log message interface, what options do I have to automate a daily export to .csv or .sql ?

Doing some investigation involving the url_alias table in the Drupal database.

What's the purpose of the table? Is it programmed to flush periodically?

--

My investigation involves a claim by customer that the version at the site's launch three weeks ago is different from today's version.

It is. But I don't know if that's normal?

I've got a site using Acquia Solr Search, but the subscription runs out.

What's steps can I take to keep the user experience?

How to download and enable Solr Search on Linux, and keep the Drupal settings already in place?

Few days back we went live with Drupal based website on internet by replacing a HTML based one. However when we search for it on Google, it returns the old urls (from the HTML site), and clicking on them results in "page not found" error.

We tried to configure the sitemap on the Google web master tools but the old urls still appear in Google search results and there is no sign of the new urls. It seems that Google is still displaying results from its earlier cache.

Has anyone faced this problem before and is there a resolution to force Google to pick new urls. Please help.

Thanks

On my production site, a User disabled the Homepage module, removing the majority of the site's front page.

1) How can I find out which User disabled the module?
2) How can I ensure that only Admins can enable/disable modules?

I have a form in a Drupal site that has values set for each field. I need the place and script to use so the values disappear on click in the field. Currently, they will only vanish when the use starts typing. I suppose it requires a jquery or javascript entry somewhere but I don't know where or how. I am not a coder, but can follow instructions.

I am creating a view in Drupal of three fields of a page node, title, a short phrase and the body which should look like this:
Title                                  Short phrase
<      Body all the way across.        >
So I am floating the title left and the short phrase right and then clearing both and floating the body left. The problem is that the ordered list number disappears. I can't show this page yet because it isn't online. I have googled and tried a few things like making the title have a left margin to leave room for the number, and setting the list position to outside but nothing I have tried works.

Configuration
Clicking on the Configuration link just keeps hanging. There's no problem going to the pages directly like  /admin/config/administration/admin_menu or /admin/config/development/performance but I can't reach the landing page at /admin/config/

What should I investigate?

I'm getting this on a site where I'm the new admin. There's something buggy happening where I can't login at all without going through the "request new password" mechanism.

1) Is this warning associated with a particular module?
2) Can I disable that module? Repurcussions if I do?

This site has "responsiveness" enabled, and yet it doesn't parse all that well on a mobile device.

What areas of the site need improvement?

I've got a CakePHP application sitting in my Drupal (7) web directory. No integration, just had to get it up.

But ideally, I would want to bake the CakePHP app into the site, via a Drupal Module.

Is that the right approach?

Or should I simply allow the CakePHP app be used via an iFrame on a Drupal page, giving the sense that's its part of the site?

What's the best approach? And how to go about it?

Being inspired by the way Acquia and Pantheon offers its customers "Git push to deploy" code from dev-staging-prod, how can we implement this in our own environment as we expand our team?

Our dev and prod has always been seperate silos, and transfering between them done manually.

So how to automate this with Git? Is there some turnkey solution we can implement or does this involve signficant custom programming?

I've got a community driven site with over 8000 authenticated, active users.

I want to temporarily block all users, but the People interface only allows me to select 50 at a time.

1) Can I do a "select all" another way , or 2) perhaps use Drush? (if so, what's the command?)

Good morning,

I am trying to add an autocomplete text field on my users profile page. This field is for adding the place where each user is from. Could you please help me to do this? I´ve been looking around and see that Taxonomy term could be a good option or entity reference. Not sure how to use them, but I need to know what would be a good approach since I have very few time to finish the whole site.

Thank you very much,

Winter

I have installed and created a slider for my drupal site.  The image pops up, but none of the controls work.

Here is a link to the page:

I think it is a jQuery, but not sure.

Dear experts,

I am using fivestar module to rate different kind of content from my website. The problem is that I don´t know how to remove  the parenthesis that surrounds a text as the following:

<span class="total-votes">(<span>4</span>votes)</span>

Is there a way to leave only the number and  remove the parenthesis and the word votes? something like this:

<span class="total-votes">4</span>

Thanks in advance,

Winter

Using Drupal you get lots of productivity benefits of being the "the same". But my worry is that hackers are attracted to the millions of sites using Drupal.  Once they find a hole, they share it with other hackers and this could expose my data for abuse. So security is where being "different" has its advantages.

How can I protect myself? Might I use encryption so the data in the database is useless to any hacker?

Please comment on security.

Thanks.

I have a site where I expect heavy volume due to a TV appearance on the History Channel and Bio Network. My site

www.ez-iq.com

as it currently loads would be crushed if I get a large number of hits:

I am considering keeping the site as Static HTML but removing the sliders and making the home page much quicker to load. Also there are error on load due to missing query files, etc. But I am also considering Drupal.

I may be getting ahead of myself, but I understand Drupal is more scalable due to the framework which reduces the odds of a programming error causing the site to be unstable.

Is that true? And is it true for a tiny site like mine?

I can really fix that site up in three weeks, and plan to. Or I could switch platforms to Drupal and be more ready for growth into a platform it seems I would not outgrow.

Please give me some advice.

Thanks.
