I ordered a car seat from amazon and I received a message that it was damaged during delivery and had to be returned to the shipper.  That is the last correspondence I received.  I have not been refunded my money on credit card or told that a replacement is coming.  It's been 2 weeks.  I have been on amazon.com and looked at getting a refund, but the choices for a refund do not exactly say that the item was damaged in shipping and needed to be returned to shipper.  The options are damaged when arrived, or changed mind, or something else that would indicated I would need to return the item.  Well, I don't have the item.  Any ideas on how I would go about resolving this?

Customizing "PayPal Send Money" feature

I like the way PayPal lets people send money, needing only the email address. But, I have a few questions I need answered before accepting money.

Is there a way to over-ride the PayPal Send Money feature to force answers to the following questions?
First Name, Last Name
Address (Street, City, State, Zip)
Employed? (Yes/No)

If Yes,
Job Title
Company

[ Submit ]

If they do not complete the form, they can not submit payment via PayPal.

Can this type of customization by handled on PayPal? Or, do I need my own domain for this?

(I have a WordPress site, but hope I would not need to force people to recall my domain and hoped I could do it all on PayPal)

Thanks

My insurance broker client, who sells policies via their e-commerce website, received an email from New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) asserting a requirement that my client file a "Certification of Compliance" by February 15, 2020.

I've never heard of this before, nor has my client. The entity's website is www.dfs.ny.gov. I assume we must file as indicated, but I can't tell if this is something required only of businesses incorporated in NY State, which my client's company is not.

I'd be grateful to know if anyone here knows whether whether a response on my client's part is required. Following are the money quotes from the email:

"All regulated entities and licensed persons of the DFS were required to file an annual cybersecurity regulation Certification of Compliance under Part 500.  Although you did not file a Certification of Compliance this year, this is an early reminder that one is due by February 15, 2020.  If you are compliant with all sections of the Part 500 that apply to you by the end of the year, then please file your Certification in a timely manner.   If you do not file a Certification because you were not compliant with Part 500, then please keep appropriate documentation including any remedial plans....

"The Department will consider a failure to submit a Certification of Compliance as an indicator that the cybersecurity program of the Covered Entity has a substantive deficiency.  Any current or future deficiencies of Part 500 …

I need some enlightenment and clarification. Three of the serverless and cloud-online providers are amazon , google and Azure. I would like to build a e-commerce website(on-line selling) but I would like to build it quick, and affordable, practical and not complicated. Can I use Amazon or google to build it? Or What tools do I need to make it happen? Need Advise. Should I buy a space fro a provider  or can I do it with AWS or google?

Hi guys

I'm not a developer so bear with me with the simplistic question. I'm trying to understand how API's work. For example, let's say an ecommerce platform says that you can connect to their API in order to do your queries from your site. My question is, how do you know what programming language to write it in so that you can have your query made?

Does the platform provider have to tell you the language compatibility?

Thanks for helping

Hello Experts,

Recently I have had reports that customers can make $0 Value  purchases with the default 1111 promo from https://cart.citysightseeingtoronto.com/

I realize that now if you leave all passengers as 0 you can still continue, I will fix this. However, real purchases with >0 passengers (not just infants) are going through with $0 being charged.

Is anyone able to make such $0 purchases? If so, I would greatly appreciate how to replicate/fix. I would also appreciate if I can get  the confirmation number they get, so that I can void it.

Since this is coming from the general public, I do not have the type of browser used, etc. As you'll also note this is a legacy app in Classic ASP, but if needed, I was hoping if someone can give e a pointer on how to get and store the client (browser) info,  so I can add it to a field for analysis? I'm  drawing a blank, would this be a part of the equivalent of $_SERVER, or js header()?

Any help will be appreciated.

I have a client who has had two separate credit cards compromised in the last week.  Same user, same computer, different secure websites, and two totally different cards.  I have run malware and AV scans on the machine, verified the web browser was fully patched and didn't have any extensions installed, verified Gateway AV IPS and App Control was enabled on the Sonicwall.  We looked for rogue APs and came back clean.  Both cards were used within an hour of being used for online transactions and the cards were entered in to the web browser manually, not saved.  I am running out of ideas on where to look or what to even look for.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Phone Experts!

I recently purchased an Android smart phone, and I really love it. A friend of mine would like to also upgrade her phone and would prefer to upgrade to an Apple IOS phone. Specifically to one of the newest Apple 11 phones. She is very familiar with the IOS interface since she also has an Ipod touch, so that explains her favoritism of Apple.
So we are wondering, should she order her IPhone 11 online through Apple corporation, or should she instead place an order through her current carrier who is horizon? I also imagine she could also buy it through Best Buy. Anyway does anyone have any advice on the best approach to purchasing the phone?

I often get "You won a $100 bonus gift card" emails which I promptly report (because Hotmail has a report phishing menu item).
But I also have email accounts where there are no ways to report clearly fraudulent messages.
Are there any places I can forward fraudulent emails to?
It seems like the wrong thing to do is nothing. I'd like to do something. There's not even a topic here on EE which covers "Fraud" or "Phishing" or "police"

I have not seen the statement myself but I have someone telling me there is an unrecognizable charge on her credit card statement. I'm thinking she possibly means it's a debit card. But either way, from some of the information she provided to me, it looks to me like it's an ACH transaction.  I've been trying to find something similar on the net but no success, so I'm asking here. Does anyone know why or can somebody give me an instance where an ACH payment might show up on a credit card statement?

Thank you.

We have  a need to track conversions using two Facebook pixels on our ecommerce site.  Would we be ok to include two pixel codes as per below?

<script>
<!-- Facebook Pixel Code -->
  !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s)
  {if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?
  n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};
  if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';
  n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;
  t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];
  s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window, document,'script',
  'https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js');
  fbq('init', '111111111111111');

The lengthy URL seems fishy to me

How is the best way to find out if your site is performing poorly on Mobile browsers.  I have a caching plugin and there response is to ignore Google Pagespeed even though my page is showing a 68.
https://gyazo.com/0d8a95a07655c3335385271b26c82d8b

Can this value be ignored or is it affecting my Google ranking?

If it is, what can I present to this caching s/w company they are wrong?

I have a client that was contracted to make some changes to a website from SquaredSpace. https://www.thelearningcurvelkn.com
The website offers classes for high school kids to help them prep for the SAT/ACT tests.
Originally when you clicked on a link to a class, it took you to Eventbrite for more information and to register and pay.
To save money, they decided to drop Eventbrite and use SquaredSpace's e-commerce.
She set it up correctly. Now when she clicks on the calendar entry, she gets the following error:

We couldn't find the page you were looking for. This is either because:

    There is an error in the URL entered into your web browser. Please check the URL and try again.
    The page you are looking for has been moved or deleted.

You can return to our homepage by clicking here, or you can try searching for the content you are seeking by clicking here.

If I click on a button at the top of the website, called Classes & Bootcamps, it will redirect me to the classes, I click on the class of interest and then the description page with the shopping cart appears.

I can't get the URLs to change. They use SLUGS which can't be changed when I go into the options of the page.

The page with the problem directs me to : /new-events/class/jumpstartmath1
the button directs me to /class/jumpstarttomath1

This is the first time for me working in SquaredSpace, so I am learning everything first hand.

This may be more a matter of taste rather than a technical question:

I have a web app that I'm going to be selling Membership access to. I'd like to use Shopify as the Merchant Account/Gateway in which I will need to purchase and configure two plugins:

1. A Recurring Subscription plug-in that will allow me to charge Customer's 30 days out from when they subscribed and keep that payment recurring for a given duration
and
2. An "Affiliate" plug-in as I will be paying a Sales Team a portion of the initial cost from the Customers.

I realize this is a big ask and I'm fairly new to Shopify, so please use laymen's terms with your suggestions. The app is written in Node.JS/React so I suspect that integration won't be too difficult for the Devs.

Thanks for your assistance.

Long question made short: If CASH is 100% as good as CASH and if one assumes that PayPal is 90% as good as Cash, where does Bitcoin fall on a 1% to 100% scale in your opinion. The only variable to eliminate for my question is for you to assume that ALL intentions of mine, a private user, are completely honest and above board. I know virtually nothing about Bitcoin and am looking for straightforward, honest and blunt opinions of this "product". I do not want to find myself in a situation that I perhaps funded a proposed new bitcoin account with a few thousand dollars only to have someone say to me "You mean to say that you never heard that bitcoin had this or that problem or potential pitfall in the works that I had not heard of. You need not go into great depth on your answer and I request that not more than EIGHT Experts give their opinion so that I can be able to award a decent amount of points to each of the eight respondents with a decent amount of points. Thanks Experts!

I'm after recommendations for a sim card for Travelling to Europe, specifically Portugal, England, France, Switzerland and Italy.

Just want something that is predominantly for data but has enough phone credit for calling ahead to hotels, restaurants etc.  It also needs to work across all the countries without having to change all the time.

The image is too large to be useful.  So, is there any way to programmatically create a short-code that does everything in the previous question but uses a thumbnail instead?

I found this

I have a customer with an ecommerce Magento 1.9.x website.  We have discovered that our hosting package bandwidth usage has gone up considerably.  It appears that some of our product pictures on the site are victim of hotlinking.  I have found some references on how to stop the hotlinking or replace it image when hotlinked.  For example: https://alistapart.com/article/hotlinking/  However, I was wondering is there a way to give the user that viewed the "hotlinked" picture from the remote site, a link back to our site.  If their going to steal our pictures/bandwidth, then maybe we can redirect their visitors to our site??

I need a sort that uses the parent id which is called jk_sku.  I am on 5.1.1 WordPress and 3.5.7 for WooCommerce.  I only need this as an option for sort.  So following two articles on the net.  I put together this code

function jk_add_custom_sku() {
$args = array(
'label' => __( 'Parent ID', 'woocommerce' ),
'placeholder' => __( 'Enter custom SKU here', 'woocommerce' ),
'id' => 'jk_sku',
'desc_tip' => true,
'description' => __( 'This SKU is for internal use only.', 'woocommerce' ),
);
woocommerce_wp_text_input( $args );
}
add_action( "woocommerce_product_options_sku", "jk_add_custom_sku" );

function jk_save_custom_sku( $post_id ) {
// grab the custom SKU from $_POST
$custom_sku = isset( $_POST[ 'jk_sku' ] ) ? sanitize_text_field( $_POST[ 'jk_sku' ] ) : '';

// grab the product
$product = wc_get_product( $post_id );

// save the custom SKU using WooCommerce built-in functions
$product->update_meta_data( 'jk_sku', $custom_sku );
$product->save();
}

add_action( "woocommerce_process_product_meta", "jk_save_custom_sku" );
//add_action( "save_post_product", "jk_save_custom_sku" );

####### Custom Sort Option ######################

// 1. Create new product filter

add_filter( 'woocommerce_get_catalog_ordering_args', 'bbloomer_sort_by_name_woocommerce_shop' );

function bbloomer_sort_by_name_woocommerce_shop( $args ) {

    $orderby_value = isset( $_GET['orderby'] ) ? wc_clean( (string) wp_unslash( $_GET['orderby'] ) ) : wc_clean( get_query_var( 'orderby' ) );
