We have an older XP box attached to a Brother fax machine over the network... the Brother machine came with software to automatically convert incoming faxes to .tif file. I then built a series of batch files along with Acrobat that converts the .tif files into pdf's that we can copy / paste from. The system works great but I built it in 2009 and I'm worried about the infrastructure not holding up much longer... either the Brother software or the XP box or the fax machine itself is getting hung up more often now, and when it does, the faxes print on paper instead of the whole pdf / copy paste things, and then we have a stack of paper to deal with.

What's out there these days as an incoming fax system that can result in a pdf which can be copy / pasted from?

I thought I had found an optimal solution in Possio Greta:

But I talked to the head office in Sweden, and it turned out that it doesn't work everywhere in the world. I can't remember the details now, but I had a lengthy discussion about it, and it's of quite limited use for me when I travel between different parts of the world and different countries.

Otherwise, is there any alternative to smartphone and internet, such as a small portable fax machine or any other device or other type of communication (analogue instead of digital etc.)? Telex, satellite, short-wave radio, SIP for fax etc.?

Windows 7 Pro.
Epson WF-3540 All in One  (Workforce)
The user sends out a batch of faxes every morning. When there is a communications error, an error page is printed out.
I tried to find the setting in the Epson computer software that could stop this, but didn't find it anywhere.

Is there a setting on the printer itself that would turn off the automatic printing of error messages?

Thanks.

I shifted to a place where we don't use analog phone lines anymore & the Telco told me the fax machine
must be one that support digital line.

My old DCP-J315W Brother printer just broke during shifting & I m left with a lot of ink cartridges.
I like Brother as they give 3 yrs warranty here.

Can anyone suggest Brother models that use same cartridge at J315W & cud support digital line?
If there's none that support digital line, at least it can support eFax software for sending/receiving.

We are seeking to fax a single flyer to thousands of fax recipients whose fax numbers we store in an Excel worksheet.  We intend to fax to this list once; or possibly twice at the most.  We want to avoid having to make a equipment purchase to accomplish this.  We've done some self-educating on the web yet lack actual experience doing something like this.  Does someone have experience with, or first-hand knowledge of a reputable online service or PC-based application that can handle mass faxing to thousands?

We recently purchase a company and they have some old eFax numbers I want to port out to https://www.ringcentral.com, but eFax said I cannot since their https://en.efax.com/CustomerAgreement states that the number is owned by eFax and cannot be ported out

 1. Any way we can get around this LEGAL bull ?
 2. If not, any way to play something like a "this number has changed to ............ for about 1yr" ?
